Chapter 195: Jessica Shakes All of Hell’s Kitchen
Finn and the Irish mafia enforcers he had brought with him were surrounded on all sides.
Aside from Finn, everyone else was already drenched in cold sweat.
They had no idea what was going on.
Finn himself found it absurd.
This was the core territory of the Irish mafia. His territory.
Yet Kingpin and the others had actually led a large group into his turf and surrounded all of them.
In that instant, Finn, whose mind had been clouded by the flames of revenge, finally calmed down.
His gaze swept over everyone before him one by one. It paused briefly on the curvy woman in a ninja mask standing at the front of the Hand's group, then finally landed on Kingpin.
"I'm on my own turf, looking for the murderer who killed my son," Finn said calmly.
He looked straight at Kingpin.
He tried to use that point to make Kingpin and the others back off, though he knew the chances were not high.
Sure enough, Kingpin snorted coldly.
His massive, obese frame was clad in a white suit, one hand gripping a cane. The bar's colorful lights shone on his bald head. The shifting light and shadow only made his presence more oppressive.
This was the intimidation of Hell's Kitchen's greatest gang boss. Even the brutal Irish could not help feeling fear.
If the Irish were like hyenas, then Kingpin was a lion—a lion no one dared provoke.
"I warned you, Redbeard," Kingpin said, calling out Finn's street name, and that alone already showed his attitude.
Finn's heart sank.
But he was unwilling to simply give up like this, so he still tried to hold on.
"Hell's Kitchen has its own street rules, Kingpin. Are you trying to break those rules?"
"Bullshit rules. There is only one rule on the street. The strong devour the weak."
Kingpin's eyes turned vicious. "I am stronger than you, so I am the reason. But now, there are people stronger than me, stronger than all of Hell's Kitchen. So they are the reason."
"The Irish were able to establish themselves in Hell's Kitchen because I allowed it. Yet now, you have ignored my warning and even dared to ignore their warning."
"You deserve to die."
Kingpin was truly afraid.
There was no doubt that Kingpin was a ruthless hero. Since childhood, he had been exceptionally gifted and ambitious.
He had walked the path of organized crime and built such a large foundation step by step. Yet even so, Kingpin had never given up on strengthening himself.
Kingpin possessed extraordinary willpower and discipline.
He also had a very clear understanding of reality.
He saw many things thoroughly and had long since understood how the rules of this world were played.
In America, Kingpin was only a major figure underground. He hoped that one day, he could wash himself clean and step into politics.
To put it plainly, compared to the white side of the world, his black side was weak.
However, the appearance of Natasha and Neagley once again shattered Kingpin's understanding of the world. It made him realize that power was not limited to black or white.
Compared with the other gangs, Kingpin had personally experienced how powerful the other side was.
A simple warning marked with the Raven emblem was enough to strip away all of Kingpin's courage to resist.
Only by facing fear directly did one understand how terrifying fear truly was.
What he had not expected was that this fool actually had more courage than he did.
Kingpin would never allow this hot-tempered idiot to drag him down, not even if there was only the slightest possibility.
Of course, aside from that, Kingpin also had some private thoughts.
He wanted to curry favor.
As the saying went, a wise man submitted to circumstances. The logic was the same. Kingpin also wanted to advance.
And since he wanted to curry favor and advance, Finn was without a doubt the stepping stone Kingpin needed. He was going to crush Finn to death.
Finn still did not know that Kingpin had already marked him as a dead man. He was still trying to struggle. After suppressing the anger in his heart, he was about to speak in a softer tone.
But just as he opened his mouth—
Boom!
A thunderous explosion erupted in the sky.
Everyone instinctively looked up, only to see something flying at extreme speed through the dark night sky.
A fighter jet?
No, it was not a fighter jet.
Everyone was confused at first, but then their faces filled with terror.
Because they noticed that the high-speed object had turned, and was now falling straight down from the sky.
Right toward them.
Kingpin's eyelids twitched.
Before anyone could react, a series of sonic booms ripped through the air. Conical shockwaves layered one after another. When the object was still dozens of meters above the ground, its descent slowed. Finally it landed at normal speed, slamming into the ground right between Finn, Kingpin, and the others.
The earth cracked open in a web of fissures. Everyone instinctively stepped back, staring in shock at the figure who had arrived.
It was a woman.
A very beautiful and young girl, with slightly curled short black hair. She wore a red windbreaker over a shirt, black leather pants made of special material, Martin boots, and black leather gloves on both hands.
The most eye-catching thing was the emblem on the shoulder of her red windbreaker.
A black raven spreading its wings, with a thick drop of blood on its abdomen.
It was exactly the same Raven emblem that had appeared in the messages sent to the various bosses earlier.
"Lady Elektra…"
The Hand ninjas grew uneasy. One of them glanced at the leading woman in the red ninja outfit.
The woman raised a hand to stop her subordinate. Behind her mask, her eyes were locked onto the newcomer. A thought flashed through her mind like lightning.
This familiar outfit—she had seen it before.
It belonged to one of the two mysterious forces that had appeared during the Battle of Manhattan.
The other bosses were not fools either. Naturally, they thought of it too.
This time, Finn was truly and completely desperate.
His body began to tremble uncontrollably.
No matter how brutal the Irish were, in the face of someone almost like a god, they would still despair. They would still fear.
So the people behind the warning this time were that group.
"Tsk. Still a little off."
The moment Jessica landed, she lowered her head and glanced at the cracked ground beneath her feet. Her delicate brows furrowed slightly, clearly very dissatisfied with her control.
She had to do extra training when she got back.
That little girl Skye had much better control than her. She could not fall behind. Otherwise, Commander Natasha would definitely train her to death.
Thinking back to that brutal scene, Jessica could not help trembling inwardly.
The Commander was too ruthless.
Especially recently, when she seemed close to mastering one of the advanced uses of Armament Haki: internal destruction.
Attacking the inside of the body.
It hurt far too much.
Jessica had no desire to experience the Commander's "affection" again.
The joy she had felt returning to Hell's Kitchen vanished in an instant, replaced by a surge of irritation.
She was annoyed at herself. As a girl, she figured she was allowed to be unreasonable sometimes too. That was understandable.
So she naturally vented her anger on someone else.
She turned her head and swept her gaze over Kingpin and others, who had retreated some distance away—the big shots of Hell's Kitchen.
These were once legendary figures in her eyes. Now they looked at her with nothing but fear on their faces.
It felt wonderful.
These people were behaving themselves. Jessica decided to let them off. She then turned back toward Finn and the other Irishmen.
Oh crap~~ We're dead!
Finn and the others showed strange expressions that looked like they wanted to cry but had no tears.
