On a Variety Show and Getting Carried to an Easy Win by Fluffies

Chapter 132: Hee Hee Hee Hee Hee

Gu Xulin chased Gu Zhao around a corner.

Then he froze. He rubbed his eyes, staring ahead in disbelief.

’Wait, what? Where did Gu Zhao go? A whole person just... vanished in the blink of an eye?’

’Don’t they say you find love around the corner? How come for me it’s losing a kid around the corner!’

The main group caught up, feeling puzzled when they saw Gu Xulin was the only one there.

"Where’s my Big King?" Song Yi panted, craning his neck to look for Gu Zhao.

Gu Huaiyan said nothing, simply staring at Gu Xulin.

Though he was silent, Gu Xulin got the message loud and clear.

’Where is she! Where’s his not-so-tiny sister!’

Gu Xulin rubbed his nose guiltily. "She... she went to the restroom!"

"Y-Yeah! She went to the restroom!" he said, growing more confident with each word.

Gu Huaiyan watched him calmly.

Gu Xulin’s gaze darted to the ceiling, then the floor—anywhere but at him.

"You lost our sister again?" Gu Huaiyan’s voice held a slight tremor.

Gu Xulin was still trying to defend himself. "She just went to get some fresh air. You know, you have to let dogs out for a walk..."

Gu Huaiyan stared into his eyes.

Gu Xulin pursed his lips and shut up.

Zhong Mingrui, ever the airhead, piped up, "Big King needs to be let out for air too? Worthy of the Monkey King! To become the Monkey King, one must first act like a monkey!"

"Brother, worry not! I, too, must go get some air!" Zhong Mingrui turned to bolt, but thankfully, Zhong Siqi was prepared and snatched him up by the collar.

Song Yi and Gu Jiao, who had the same idea, were promptly snatched up by their own older siblings.

Song Yi struggled, indignant. "Brother, are you worried I won’t support you in your old age if I become a monkey!"

A flicker of awkwardness crossed Song Zhe’s eyes, but he maintained his big-brother persona. "Don’t be ridiculous. I’m just afraid you’ll get lost!"

’Who knows if Mom and Dad are watching the livestream...’

’If they saw him letting their kid turn into a monkey, all hell would break loose!’

’Still... when no one’s looking, I’ll give it a try. For the Monkey King!’

Gu Huaiyan sighed and went to look for Gu Zhao, his face etched with worry. Gu Xulin scratched his head and jogged to catch up.

"Third Brother, don’t worry so much about Gu Xiao Zhao. She’s a clever one. For all we know, she’s hiding in a trash can right now, secretly watching us."

Gu Xulin was trying to lighten the mood; Gu Huaiyan was just too tense.

Zhong Siqi and the others followed.

After they left, a pair of hands tentatively reached out from the flap of a trash can around the corner.

The hands retracted, and then a head poked out. It was Gu Zhao. Seeing that the coast was clear, she breathed a sigh of relief.

She tried to pull her head back in, planning to lift the entire lid to get out.

She wriggled. And wriggled. Then, she went still.

’Okay, there’s good news and bad news.’

’Good news: no one’s here, so my butt is safe.’

’Bad news... I think my head is stuck.’

Gu Zhao tried to pull her head free, but it was firmly stuck.

Gu Zhao screamed internally. ’This is illogical! How could I get my head through if I can’t get it back out?!’

After trying a few times, Gu Zhao was tired.

She simply stood up, the trash can covering her torso. It was a two-part model, and when she stood up, her legs stuck out from the bottom, free to run.

Her arms, however, were trapped inside. Wearing the trash can, Gu Zhao decided to find Jia Xu and ask for help.

’Unlike her brothers, Jia Xu wouldn’t spank her.’

A trash can with legs sprinted down the hallway. Arriving at Jia Xu’s door, Gu Zhao used her teeth to turn the handle and push the door open.

’She was incredibly grateful that no one here locked their doors.’

In the room, Jia Xu was still peacefully catching up on sleep, without a hint of crisis awareness.

Just as Gu Zhao was about to wake him up to help her get the thing off her neck, she heard the sound of a group of people walking outside the door.

Her legs moved faster than her brain. Gu Zhao instantly dropped into a slight crouch, her back to the door, brazenly committing to her trash-can cosplay.

BANG.

A pair of long legs kicked the door open, and Feng Jiexu walked in with a disdainful smile on his lips.

"Still not dead?" Jia Xu, jolted awake, found his irritation spiking at the sight of the newcomer.

Feng Jiexu’s eyes glinted with mocking amusement. "I couldn’t possibly die before you, now could I?"

"By the way... has your base been cleared out? There’s no one here but you, and you’re still in the mood for a nap?"

"My base’s business is none of your concern." A sense of unease crept over Jia Xu as he heard this. ’How could there be no one here?’

He was just about to step outside when Feng Jiexu’s gaze shot toward the trash can, sharp and menacing.

"Who’s there? Get out!"

In an instant, Jia Xu drew his gun and aimed it at the trash can.

"I said, get out!" Jia Xu had absolute faith in Feng Jiexu’s powers of observation.

Seconds passed with no response.

Jia Xu narrowed his eyes. Keeping his gun trained on the trash can, he slowly advanced.

Gu Zhao gulped. She was just about to speak when a sudden shout cut through the tension.

"AHHH!!!"

"Gu Xulin!!"

Ye Zuiyi, who had been hiding by the door, looked up and saw Gu Xulin. Her eyes flew wide with disbelief, and she screamed his name.

’Why aren’t they dead?!’

Gu Xulin, who was just passing by, jumped in fright. "What the hell, she’s here too? Is she nuts?!"

Upon seeing a group of burly men charge out of the room, Gu Xulin and his friends bolted.

"That Ye Zuiyi is a total dumbass!!"

"AHHHHHH!! TRAITOR!!" Zhong Mingrui shrieked as he fled.

They had arrived in a flurry, and they fled in one too.

And so, the room was left with only Feng Jiexu, Jia Xu, and one trash-can kid.

"Ha... haha... Good afternoon." Gu Zhao turned her head with a strained grin, shooting Feng Jiexu a glare.

’He and his dog ears! And dog nose!’

’The dog!’

"Little Flower? What are you doing here? And..." Jia Xu frowned at the sight of Gu Zhao, his expression turning to disgust. "...hiding in a trash can."

"BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

Feng Jiexu bent over, clutching his stomach as he roared with laughter.

"A trash can! Bwahahaha, is this your new persona? Hahaha."

Jia Xu gave them a searching look. "You two know each other?"

’Gu Zhao was finding Feng Jiexu exceptionally annoying right now. ’What’s so funny! Hasn’t he ever seen someone cosplay a trash can before?!’’

Muttering curses under her breath, she took two steps back, got a running start, and launched herself at Jia Xu, knocking him over.

Jia Xu had been on guard, but not enough. He never expected a child to have so much force and was sent sprawling.

Before he could react, Gu Zhao headbutted him.

Jia Xu passed out.

Gu Zhao repented for one second. "Farewell, fake brother. In your next life, maybe you can be a real one."

She looked up to see Feng Jiexu, a smirk playing on his lips.

Gu Zhao blinked. "I like your outfit..."

Feng Jiexu’s face froze. "You have the nerve to bring that up?! You little perv! What, you knocked him out and now you want my clothes too?"

"Gu... Gu Zhao!"

Leaning on the wall for support, Ye Zuiyi stumbled over. Her face filled with hatred and fear when she saw Gu Zhao.

She involuntarily took two steps back.

Gu Zhao glanced at her, then turned to Feng Jiexu. "Pervert."

Feng Jiexu: ??

’What did he do to deserve being called a pervert?’

"No wonder you’re always chasing me. Turns out you’re a pedo!"

"You’d even go for Ye Zuiyi! Talk about desperate!"

Feng Jiexu: ???

"Whoa, and there are all these kids, too. You’re an even bigger pervert than I thought," Gu Zhao said, noticing the children tied up in the hallway.

"Awoo, awoo~ Sister Xiangxiang~"

A small, bound bear looked at Gu Zhao with excitement.

"You won’t even spare a little bear!"

"I’m perfectly normal! You’re the pervert, hiding in a trash can to spy on a grown man, and then you even kowtowed to him~"

Feng Jiexu was just giving her a taste of her own medicine.

Gu Zhao: ...

’How does he learn so fast?’

"Alright, that’s enough. Stop trying to change the subject and stall for time," Feng Jiexu said with a smile.

"There’s no one else left in this base."

He had barely finished speaking when the sound of heavy footsteps echoed from the hallway.

Gu Zhao gave him a deviously innocent smile. "Hehehehe... but there are animals~"

A bear appeared in the doorway and swiped a massive paw at Feng Jiexu.
