I Have a God Simulator

Chapter 220 - 214: Today I May Die, But I Will Forever Be Their God

What is a God?

The Gods have never agreed on a single answer.

But to the Bos God, godhood is transcendence.

To transcend the past, to transcend the present, to transcend all that exists and all that is other.

Tomorrow is the God of today.

In the eyes of the weak, any being whose power is beyond comprehension may be called a God.

The meaning of godhood lies in transcendence—transcending understanding and limits, transcending established rules and Bindings, until one enters the ultimate realm of omniscience and omnipotence.

This is the path to godhood.

No shortcuts, no excuses, and no room for compromise.

Once mired in Stagnation, a God will gradually shed their Divinity.

To be high above all is the necessary dignity and majesty of a God.

Therefore, a God must remain distant from all other beings, looking down upon everything else in the world. They must be a being that cannot be directly gazed upon, touched, or even imagined.

Should even the slightest unforeseen development sprout within his Divine Kingdom, the Bos God would snuff it out.

This never brought him pleasure. On the contrary, each occurrence brought only shame and humiliation.

It was his lack of power that bred resentment; his failure to transcend that bred constant anxiety.

The Bos God envied those frenzied Gods who fed on war. They embraced utter Madness and depravity, caring for nothing else. For them, slaughter and war were both desire and the path to ascension.

But for the Bos God, war was the only escape from his own weakness.

For a God, the cruelest fate is to have a mind too clear for an ambition that one’s abilities cannot hope to match.

The Bos God knew very well that he did not possess any exceptional talent.

He possessed neither the unruffled Wisdom to command all living beings, nor any extraordinary talent or creativity.

He knew he would struggle to balance a world with a vast population and a multitude of species. He had once tried to recruit Subordinate Gods and pursue steady development, but it only led to endless internal conflict and Chaos within his Divine Kingdom, severely damaging both his Divinity and his Divine Body.

The Bos God subjected his Subordinate Gods and all potential threats to Crystalization Extraction, converting them into a pure, absolutely loyal Fire of Faith.

He chose the safest path.

He would control the population, keeping it within a manageable limit. He would exterminate species with uncontrollable traits. He would utterly purge any extraordinary individuals who emerged from the human populace.

He simplified the entire world to make it easier to rule and control—even if it meant destroying its potential.

He had to fashion himself into a stern and ruthless war God, one who possessed the bloodiest, sharpest sword and bestowed the most direct, gratifying Blessings. This was necessary for the orderly function of his Divine Kingdom under his Divine Power.

The entire Bos God Realm was like a weary and restless wolf that had to keep eating. The taste of blood and the churning in its gut kept it excited, allowing it to forget its aching body and its pain.

The Bos God cracked his whip, driving the hungry wolf to relentlessly attack its prey, to unleash its ferocity and seize the spoils of war.

He knew this path had a low ceiling; the hope of advancing further and earning a title was slim.

The moment the Hunting ceased, the hungry wolf would completely collapse.

The Bos God tried a new approach.

He pledged allegiance to a Titled Deity, The Fearless. Nearly all the Gods under The Fearless followed the path of war.

With the protection of The Fearless, he thought this difficult path might finally take a favorable turn.

But only after becoming a Subordinate God did the Bos God realize his mistake.

The Fearless cared nothing for the future of his Subordinate Gods; he only needed their immediate Combat Power. This Titled Deity was fanatical about conquest, launching one Divine War after another. Even the battle-hardened Bos God found himself exhausted.

The long and arduous war between The Fearless and The Skinner had finally come to an end, and the Bos God had looked forward to a long-overdue period of recovery. But now, he could not rest. He had to keep attacking, to keep waging war.

He had to grow stronger still, or the next battle could be his last.

Sometimes, the Bos God found it laughable.

The Gods were gods in name only, not in substance.

As one of the mediocre masses of Gods, without even a title, he was indeed nothing more than a lowly crawler.

Like four-legged animals emerging from their caves, the Gods scoured the Crawling Area for food, carefully avoiding the powerful enemies who occasionally passed through.

Such was the state of the Crawling Area.

The Bos God’s happiest time had been during his days as an Apprentice Deity.

Back then, he had just entered this wondrous Otherworld. Everything was fresh, everything was filled with hope. Even a single new Believer would bring him joy for a long time.

’When did it all disappear?’

He didn’t know.

All he knew was that he was so, so tired.

It felt as if an invisible yoke was clamped to his spine, shoving him forward, always forward. If he paused for even a moment, he would plummet into a bottomless Abyss. He didn’t know what the future held; he could only push onward with the crowd, even though his legs could barely carry him, even though his mind was a dizzying haze...

The discovery of the Wuzi Kingdom gave the Bos God a glimmer of hope.

A nascent, native God. Believers attuned to a special Element.

They would become new fuel for his Divine Kingdom, feeding the Fire of Faith and pushing his War Chariot ever onward.

...

The Empire’s legions advanced relentlessly, crushing any Wuzi People who dared to resist. The living Wuzi People would make excellent Believers, while the dead could be used as high-grade materials for Refining and forging.

The Bos God watched from above as the front line advanced, the Wuzi People falling back in defeat.

The Apostle Sandman sent to infiltrate Crystal City had been discovered and killed. The remaining Earth Golem was tied down by Blood Axe Shane, fighting for its life.

On the battlefield, everything was proceeding exactly as the Empire had planned.
