The Golden Field was following the steps set by the Forest God, gradually using rewards and quests to help the Forest Elemental Creatures make their mark in the Fragment World. All of this was beneficial for Isabel.

Luh Yao wasn’t concerned, though.

The Forest God had been split into Isabel and the White God anyway, and he himself had burned the Memory Book to ashes.

’It’s like the stew is already simmering in the pot. It’s just a matter of time before it’s ready to eat.’

Luh Yao relaxed.

Just then, an unprecedented red alert popped up on the game interface.

[Saniluo is under attack.]

’A monster siege?’

Luh Yao shifted his perspective to the southern end of the Western Continent.

Outside the Ghost City Saniluo, a large number of Cannibal Crabs crawled out of the sea. Waving their pincers, they scuttled sideways toward the city in a charge.

The attacking Cannibal Crabs were mostly between Lv. 2 and Lv. 5, but there were many of them—a dense swarm that looked to be in the hundreds.

Amidst the crab army, Luh Yao also spotted some pixelated figures.

These figures wore only leather skirts, revealing their dark torsos. Each one carried a spear made of fish bones, looking lean but fierce.

Two figures led them: one was an [Apostle], the other a [Prophet].

Luh Yao clicked above their heads.

On the world map, the crab swarm they led was laying siege to the city walls.

’They dare attack the city with just these forces...’ Luh Yao suspected they had reinforcements.

He ordered Isabel to join the battle, summoned Blood Knights from the Divine Hall, and with Philos still guarding the hall, he felt a little more secure.

Luh Yao clicked to enter the combat interface.

In the battle scene, the Apostle Truby held a Bone Spear and continuously cast spells, causing the [Rapid Speed] and [Shield] icons to appear above the Cannibal Crabs’ heads.

On Saniluo’s side, Commander Alex was leading the defense. He was on the city walls with the Fish People, Sand Worms, and Ghost Soul citizens.

The buffed Cannibal Crabs moved quickly, but they couldn’t climb more than a few steps before being poked off by spears from the wall. So the crab swarm milled about at the base of the wall, scratching and clawing at it, trying to dig through it first.

On the wall, the Fish People held bows and arrows, firing volley after volley at the monster swarm below.

After taking continuous damage, the Cannibal Crabs would flee back to the sea. Their fighting will was not strong, which was a small side effect of their Wisdom.

The Apostle Truby shouted continuously, keeping up the magical buffs.

"For the God!"

"Crab swarm! Breach this Undead City!"

"Eliminate the evil, restore the Order!"

A green light appeared on Prophet Fabiani’s Bone Spear. The wounds on some of the injured Cannibal Crabs slowly healed, and some of their health was restored. After being healed, the Cannibal Crabs rallied and charged the wall again.

However, the cost of these spells was depleting Truby’s mana.

Luh Yao suddenly had a realization.

’So this is how Apostles and Heroes are supposed to be used?’

Attack, Defense, Morale... these Attributes are all group buffs. As long as an Apostle or Hero leads troops into battle, it will be reflected in their overall Combat Power.

’My own path has gone astray ever since I summoned Isabel, veering further and further off course. You could say that I started to Snowball too quickly; my Apostles’ individual Combat Power was so high that leading troops into battle actually felt like a self-nerf and a waste of population.’

At that moment, a gray shadow suddenly flew in from the west, outside the city.

It shot into Saniluo City at high speed, hovering in the air and looking down upon the entire city with contempt. Above it, the words [Unknown Divine Statue] were displayed.

Outside the city, an exclamation mark lit up above Truby’s head.

The Apostle immediately bellowed, "The great God has descended! Ghost Souls of the city, why have you not surrendered and offered your Faith!"

Luh Yao was dumbfounded by this scene.

’Is this... a Divine Statue participating in battle as a Flying unit?’

However, the Divine Statue hovering in the air seemed to have noticed something was wrong. It quickly flew back out towards the sea to the east, fleeing all the way.

Outside the city, the Apostle Truby’s shouts came to an abrupt halt.

Luh Yao, having waited at his leisure for the enemy to wear themselves out, did not hold back on his Miracles.

A vast, raging [Hurricane] enveloped the fleeing Divine Statue, causing it to plummet from the sky. On the ground, it was spun in circles by the gale. A white light emanated from the statue as it used Faith to resist the Miracle’s damage.

Luh Yao activated [True Sight Curse] and moved it over the Divine Statue.
