I Have a God Simulator

Chapter 93 - 88: The Caged Person

Luh Yao took a hot shower after getting home to wash away his work fatigue and relax.

When he came out of the bathroom, Xiaohuo had already finished cooking and neatly arranged the food on his computer desk: a portion of steamed egg, a glass of cola with ice, a pile of french fries sprinkled with salt and pepper, and the Eternal Wine.

Combined with the hand-pulled pancake Luh Yao had bought on his way back, dinner was complete.

Eating something hot and steaming in the winter always put one in a good mood.

Luh Yao ate a fry. The outside was crispy, and the inside was soft and fluffy.

He gave a thumbs-up to the Cactus Ball in the flowerpot next to him. "Not bad. Your Culinary Skill has improved."

The Cactus Ball bowed slightly, a little proud. "It is all thanks to my Lord God’s excellent teaching. Your servant was only able to learn a tiny fraction from your Wisdom..."

"Alright, shut up."

Luh Yao raised a hand to cut it off.

Xiaohuo immediately reverted to its normal Cactus Ball posture.

This Cactus Ball Attendant was great in all other aspects—obedient, sensible, and meticulous... but it had one flaw: it was far too fond of sucking up.

Listening to flattery once in a while wasn’t so bad, but hearing it constantly made Luh Yao feel awkward.

These days, cringey flattery was basically a form of sabotage, and cringey criticism was just a way to build someone up.

Enough was enough.

Everything in moderation.

Luh Yao ate while keeping an eye on the Pixel World in the simulator.

After resting for a few days, he was going to launch a major operation today: another expedition into the [First Floor of the Black Abyss] to advance his scouting progress on the first floor.

The upper-right corner displayed:

Population: 22,318 Faith: 21,545

The last bout of fanatical worship had brought in a large amount of Faith, so Luh Yao’s "ammunition" was now plentiful.

However, running a dungeon required his full concentration. He had to keep a constant watch on the situation and occasionally manage two things at once—besides manually controlling the Deep Sea Lord, he also had to be ready to cast Miracles. Every trip into the Black Abyss was mentally draining for Luh Yao.

He had spent several days resting and recuperating, getting himself in top condition to enter the first floor for a second time.

The three-person dungeon team quickly assembled.

As Luh Yao opened the golden gate with the key, the game interface once again changed to the gloomy Abyssal World.

The words [First Floor of the Black Abyss] slowly materialized in the center of the screen.

Unlike last time, there were almost no Ghouls to be seen around the entrance.

Occasionally, one or two Ghouls would be startled from underground, but the moment they saw the Blood Knight’s party of three, they would immediately get scared and burrow back into the earth, frantically covering themselves with rocks and dirt to play dead.

Luh Yao discovered that after the Withered Count was defeated, the remaining Ghouls in the vicinity had completely scattered. They no longer moved in organized groups, and their aggression and courage had diminished significantly.

They were clearly level 40 monsters, yet they would basically just panic and frantically dig into the ground to flee upon encountering the Blood Knight, showing no intention of fighting back. It actually seemed like they had developed self-awareness.

The party of three continued to explore deeper along their previous path.

They passed through the frost-covered area where the Withered Count had once awakened. It was now dilapidated and silent, with only the scars of battle and scattered rubble remaining.

The background music remained at its normal, soothing tempo.

One thing about the Abyss really annoyed Luh Yao: there was no minimap, so he could only find his way through trial and error. His bird’s-eye view gave him no advantage either.

Luh Yao brought up the [Mirror of Fiery Flame] from his Artifact Bar.

His first objective for this dungeon run was to conduct an experiment.

Luh Yao mused. ’Since I have a long-range meteor bombardment tool like [Aegir’s Fire], if I can just fire it into the Abyss and give them a face full of meteors, wouldn’t running dungeons and fighting bosses be much easier?’

This wonderful idea was quickly shattered.

Luh Yao tried to aim and activate it using the Cross Star on the monocle, but the entire Cross Star was grayed out and couldn’t be used.

He was a little disappointed.

But after calming down, Luh Yao figured it out.

The Black Abyss was, in essence, another Fragment World.

[Aegir’s Fire] didn’t have the power to strike across worlds... If it really could do that, perhaps the Miracle could have truly protected the Undersea Walker race.

Just as he finished his experiment, the rhythm of the background music changed, and the BGM became upbeat.

’Something’s up!’

Luh Yao returned his attention to the Abyss map.

The dungeon trio had arrived in a peculiar area. The wind howled here, the ground was covered in a thick layer of ice, and frozen ice sculptures were everywhere.

Upon arriving in this new scene, the three of them clearly became more vigilant.

Even the Blood Knight, who was leading the way, slowed its pace and watched its surroundings warily.

A black cage appeared on the ice ahead.

It looked like a giant birdcage. Golden chains were wrapped around the cage, anchoring it firmly to the ground. Inside, there was a Snowman.

’Is this the boss?’

Luh Yao carefully observed the figure in the cage.

The Snowman looked quite normal, with a carrot for a nose and black buttons for eyes.

It wore a red fleece hat, a red scarf was tied around its neck, and its arms were two tree branches with a pair of red gloves at the ends.

Seeing the newcomers, the Snowman inside the cage waved its branch arms enthusiastically. "Hello, strangers!"

"It’s been so long since I’ve seen anyone else. A very warm welcome to the Abyss."

And yet, it was bound tightly by golden chains and enclosed in a black birdcage, as if it were an extremely dangerous prisoner.

Luh Yao double-clicked on the Snowman’s head.

...

[Hero LV5] Snowman Jimmy

Life Value: 10/10

Mana Value: 15/15

Damage: 0

Defense: 0

Speed: 2

[Undead]

Possesses the undying Trait for unknown reasons and can revive continuously.

[Ancient God Curse LV10]

Has been cursed by the Old Gods and is completely sealed.

[Caster]

Mana consumption is reduced during Casting.

[Zero-Degree Domain (Out of Control)]

When this ability is active, targets within Jimmy’s line of sight will continuously take low-temperature damage and have their speed reduced.

[Snowball LV5 (Out of Control)]

Creates snowballs to attack enemies. Those hit by a snowball have a certain chance of entering a [Frozen] state.

...

This stat panel left Luh Yao a little confused.

Whether in terms of level or abilities, Snowman Jimmy was weaker than an ordinary mob on the outside.

But judging by its location within the Black Abyss and the way it was imprisoned, it seemed even more dangerous than the Withered Count.

The Snowman waddled to the edge of its cage and waved its arms.

"You’re from the outside, right?"

"..."

The dungeon team was a bit speechless in the face of the Snowman.

However, Luh Yao noticed that a [Zero-Degree Domain] debuff had appeared above the heads of the Blood Knight and the other two members. A "-0" Life Value deduction kept popping up, and their speed had also been reduced by 2 points.

The Snowman continued on its own, "If you go further in, you’ll reach the Tyrant’s territory. He is the Commander of the Abyss First Layer."

"The Tyrant is terrifying. You shouldn’t go any further."

"Excuse me, is there light outside now?"

This was the first time Luh Yao had encountered a boss in the Abyss that he could communicate with.

Under his command, Isabel asked, "Why are you locked up here?"

"I don’t know either."

The Snowman gripped the cage with its branch arms. "I’ve been here for as long as I can remember. My past memories have been sealed away. Can you talk with me for a little while longer? We can talk about anything!"

"I haven’t spoken to anyone in so long. The Ghouls ignore me, Mister Count says I’m bad luck, and the Tyrant calls me useless..."

"Since it’s our first time meeting, let me give you a gift."

The Snowman’s two branch arms rummaged around inside its body, but it didn’t seem to find any presentable treasures.

Finally, it pulled off its own red nose, stroking it reluctantly again and again before holding it out with both hands and placing it on the ice outside.

Luh Yao hovered his mouse over the snowman’s nose on the ice.

...

[Carrot]: A type of plant.

...

Luh Yao’s face twitched.

It really was just an edible carrot.
