I Have a God Simulator

Chapter 86 - 81: It’s an Evil God

The Northern Forest was a region he had yet to fully control.

This was because the further north one went, the more hostile the forest’s environment became.

Deep within the forest, a dense, poisonous fog, much like a miasma, prevented the pixel people from venturing further in.

The terrain was also complex, and it was easy to get lost. Even with camels and horses, Hunters would occasionally go missing. On top of that, Forest Elemental Creatures roamed the depths, so his people dared not venture too far.

Luh Yao had left this area alone because the forest had long been quiet. No monsters charged out of it, and no large-scale disasters had occurred.

Now, it was time to make a move.

He turned his attention to the Western Continent proper.

Several Hunters were telling their leader, Senji, about their discovery.

"Deep in the forest, there are primitive people. They’re very barbaric—they don’t wear clothes, have no written language, and are extremely foolish."

"The primitive people have Faith in a heretical God, and this God brought them fire."

"They hunt wild beasts for Sacrificial Offerings, then travel to a Black Mountain Range deep in the forest. The heretical God is inside that mountain."

"...The Black Mountain Range is surrounded by a poisonous fog, and it’s scorching hot. The mountain spews smoke, and fire erupts from the ground. We couldn’t get close."

Senji asked, "How do the primitive people get into the mountain?"

One Hunter said, "The heretical God sends an envoy, a large bird, that leads them into the mountain. Wherever the bird flies, the flames die down and the poisonous fog dissipates."

The Wizard Senji was already very old.

Older leaders had a certain Trait: they were generally more prudent.

He consulted with Hemira and Yulian and decided to temporarily cordon off the area around the Black Mountain Range. Until they could ascertain the true nature of the heretical God, they were to avoid conflict with the primitive people...

Meanwhile, Luh Yao had already mobilized his forces.

The world map pinpointed the location of the Black Mountain Range. It was in the deepest part of the northern forest, with its far side nearly touching the sea and connecting to a few small archipelagos.

The fog in the middle of the Black Mountain Range had not completely dissipated, obscuring the details within.

To be safe, Luh Yao dispatched his strongest team.

The Blood Knight, Necied, was naturally the main combatant. He would be equipped with all combat Artifacts and serve as the primary attacker.

Isabel would accompany him as support.

At sea, the Deep Sea Lord stood guard. It had already blockaded the surrounding waters, ready to provide naval support and conduct landing operations at a moment’s notice.

Around the forest, the Forest Wolf Pack and the Tree People had formed a defensive perimeter. This was to prevent the operation from spilling over and affecting the normal lives of his ordinary people.

All preparations were complete.

Luh Yao gazed down upon the target area. A pale green fog swirled around the Black Mountain Range, obscuring everything from view.

At the foot of the mountain sat several bonfires built from stacked stones, their flames long extinguished.

A group of small people covered in thick body hair gathered around the bonfires. They were prostrated on the ground, as if waiting for something.

Before long, a bird flew out of the green fog.

The bird was about the size of one of the small people. It was pure white, its feathers wreathed in flames.

The name displayed above its head was: [Mad Flame Bird LV10]

The Mad Flame Bird flew down to the base of the mountain and swept over the bonfires. The flames on its body instantly reignited them. The sight sent the primitive people into a frenzy, and they began to kowtow repeatedly, cheering wildly.

Then the Mad Flame Bird hovered in the air, looking down at the small people on the ground.

The primitive people immediately presented their Sacrificial Offering.

It was a living baby.

Luh Yao was furious.

’An Evil God!’

’Demanding a baby as a Sacrificial Offering! I have to eradicate it completely!’

However, the Mad Flame Bird seemed unsatisfied. It circled in the air, about to leave.

The small people panicked. They took the baby back and presented a second Sacrificial Offering.

This time, it was a small, bound wild boar.

The boar was still alive, struggling constantly. Since it was tied to a pole, it could only let out futile squeals.

This time, the Mad Flame Bird turned back, seemingly satisfied.

Luh Yao made his judgment once more.

’It is an Evil God!’

’Not only does it demand live sacrifices, but it also forces the poor Wild People to offer up what little food they have!’

’I must destroy it to restore the natural balance of this forest.’

The Mad Flame Bird led the way, and the Wild People, carrying the small boar, followed it into the Black Mountain Range.

Luh Yao’s side was also moving stealthily.

The Blood Knight, riding his Ghost White Horse, followed behind them, completely undetected thanks to his High-Level Disguise. By trailing the group ahead, he mapped out the path into the Black Mountain Range.

The Black Mountain Range was a large volcano. Its body was pitch-black, and thick smoke billowed from an opening.

The Mad Flame Bird lowered its altitude, following a narrow path toward the mouth of the volcano. The primitive people carrying the boar followed its every move.

Luh Yao locked his perspective onto the Blood Knight.

Upon entering the opening, the scene on his screen cut to a brand-new location.

At the end of a winding, rugged volcanic path lay a pool of yellow-red magma. The brightly colored mass constantly bubbled and let off thick smoke.

On a small island in the center of the Magma Lake, there was a pile of giant egg-shaped, grayish-black stones.

The Mad Flame Bird landed beside the stones.

The small people behind them carefully carried the boar to the stones, placed it on the ground, and then prostrated themselves one by one. The Mad Flame Bird had dispersed the surrounding flames, so they were not harmed.

The pile of stones shook, and two fiery-red tentacles extended from within. They seized the struggling boar and dragged the Sacrificial Offering into the stone pile.

The pile of giant stones slowly arched upward, revealing a brown, soft body underneath, along with patches of diamond-shaped hard shells on its surface.

The name [Scaly-Horned Giant Snail] appeared above its head.

Luh Yao double-clicked its name.

...

[Scaly-Horned Giant Snail LV29]

Life Value: 777/777

Mana Value: 211/211

Damage: 18

Defense: 74

Speed: 5

[Strong Wall]

Innately possesses high Defense.

[Fire Element]

Can continuously restore Life Value while in fire. Attacks inflict additional Fire Element damage.

[Burning LV10]

[Flame Surge L1]

Unleashes a powerful explosion of fire on the target, dealing high damage and burning Mana. Damage is dependent on ability level.

...

The Giant Snail’s stats gave Luh Yao a small shock.

’This thing’s Defense is ridiculously high, and it even has decent damage. It’s kind of like a Mage version of the Tree People. It’s just much slower and has more combat limitations.’

Even so, the level difference was clear at a glance.

Luh Yao immediately ordered the Blood Knight to charge.

The Blood Knight, Necied, rode his Ghost White Horse, the [Forest Sword] status active above his head as he charged the enemy, greatsword in hand. Thanks to [High-Level Disguise], his first attack dealt double damage.

A red number, -230, appeared above the Giant Snail’s head.

Reeling from the pain, the Giant Snail launched a Counterattack. It spewed streams of intense flames from its body like a rotating flamethrower, scorching everything around it indiscriminately.

Aside from the Mad Flame Bird, which flapped its wings and took flight, the few Wild People who couldn’t escape in time were burned to cinders.

Under the [Burning] effect, a forced deduction of -1 health would occasionally pop up over the Blood Knight’s head.

He stuck to his tough, aggressive combat style, getting in close and hacking relentlessly at the Giant Snail with his greatsword.

Luh Yao wasn’t worried in the slightest.

For a fully equipped Blood Knight, dealing with a mob below level 30 was a sure thing.

Soon, the Blood Knight slew the monster. Unfortunately, the Giant Snail didn’t drop any equipment or materials, leaving behind only a heavy, oversized snail shell.

Luh Yao figured he’d have the Garlic Tribe come collect it and see if they could rig something up from the shell.

The battle ended quickly, but the situation here had not become any clearer.

Isabel used Mourning Prayer to communicate with the Dead and received a startling piece of news.

"My Lord, the one who truly rules this place is a [Dragon] hidden in the magma."

’A Dragon?’

Luh Yao’s eyes lit up, and he flexed his fingers.

’Finally, time for a classic player objective: dragon-slaying.’
