ENERGI: THE PRIMORDIAL CONDUIT[OP MC, APOCALYPSE, SURVIVAL, AND LITRPG]

CHAPTER 137: HIGHER RACES II

In another globe, rested a massive mountain that had countless holes on its surface, lending it the appearance of a colossal anthill.

Across the mountain, millions of ants roved about, their many legs scuttling about to fulfill the orders of their Queen. Just the sight of millions of ordinary ants would chill a human's heart, yet the sight of these creatures, each the size of a normal truck, moving about with purpose would even send any zombie abomination running in the other direction.

Deep within the core of the mountain, in a cavern whose walls were filled with countless tunnels, a throne made from an unknown material rested at the center. And on it sat a humanoid creature that had the grace of a female, parts of its body appearing slender.

Despite the two long antennae, each a meter long, twitching above the creature's head, and its compound eyes that bulged slightly away from its skull, the creature appeared strangely beautiful. Very beautiful, in fact. There was a natural charm surrounding it that seemed to draw the eyes of any being around it.

Sensing movement, the creature's antennae suddenly trembled, and the millions of ants suddenly came to a stop.

Heads tilted upward in unison as a blinding silver light spread out. The intense light of teleportation didn't even have the chance to dim out before countless legs exploded into motion.

________

In another globe, the environment took the appearance of a swampy area, the waters deeper than normal.

The water's surface rippled every now and then before going still.

Yet if one was to gaze at the area with a bird's-eye view, they would be shocked to see tens of bodies hundreds of meters long slithering deep in the swamp.

The sight was nothing short of chilling.

Yet several sights like this played out in hundreds of globes spread apart in the deep waters of the Blue Planet. Each of these terrifying beings moved into action as the system communicated its intention.

This was the last fight before they returned to their rightful land, where they would lay claim to their territories.

What a glorious apocalypse this was!

_________

Kael stood with his eyes closed, yet flickers of blue light escaped his shut eyelids from the activation of Godly Focus.

Four limbs, two upper and two lower, moved behind him, each jutting out of his back like the limbs of a spider. Each of the limbs was matte black like the surface of a polished obsidian, and Kael reduced their length to be just about a meter.

From their endpoints, invisible threads weaved out and spread into the surroundings, and not long after, they filled the entire right region of the corridor. Unsatisfied, Kael took another minute to send more silks out, not stopping until the entire corridor was filled.

Then he redrew his perception from his surroundings, throwing himself into darkness, but that didn't last long.

The beams of blue light shooting out of his shut eyes seemed to increase in intensity as Kael saw a complex domain of webs appear in his awareness.

As any person brushed past any web, oblivious to the silk system, a vibration pulsed out of the disturbed section that painted a picture of that region in his mind.

'Fascinating.'

The more Kael experimented with his Weaver talent, the more he found himself falling for it. It was just versatile.

Not only could he use the limbs to attack and also aid his movement, even his silks could be used for many purposes. Attack, scouting, battle control, restraining enemies, detecting movement, setting traps...the potential just felt endless.

But when he remembered what happened a few hours ago, all his excitement drained away like water through his fingers.

Nathan had suddenly appeared behind him, alerting him that Nathaniel had woken up and adamantly wished to speak to him. Since early morning, the young boy had been unconscious, as it seemed the hit back from his vision this time was truly bad. Which didn't bode well for them, as it had just gone to show that whatever he had seen this time was far more serious than before.

Kael had rushed to his side just in time before he fell unconscious once again, and he could still remember what the usually taciturn yet protective boy had said.

He had barely mumbled in a low voice, prompting Kael to bend his head over until his ear reached his mouth. That was when he heard it.

"Only you... please... must draw it away..." The words were somewhat incoherent, but Kael still remembered the quiet pleading in his tone.

He sighed once again, something he has been doing often, lately.

'It's almost time.'

He deactivated his mythical skill and opened his black-as-night eyes. Raising his head, all he saw was rolling clouds of darkness that filled the horizon. Thunder boomed across the earth, and sparks of blue lightning streaked through the dark skies like slithering snakes.

By now, the sun should be sinking below the horizon, yet no matter how Kael thought about it, the sight before him forebode nothing good.
