ENERGI: THE PRIMORDIAL CONDUIT[OP MC, APOCALYPSE, SURVIVAL, AND LITRPG]

CHAPTER 138: PRELUDE TO THE LAST NIGHT EVENT!

After the great war that happened a few decades ago, the continent was completely devastated.

Lives were lost in the hundreds of millions, countries were wiped off the face of the planet, and the major power of the continent, the Helios Consortium, was annihilated.

It wasn't until later on that the Hero Valemont Jonathan, Rachel's father, rose up and, with the help of a few notable figures, established territories. Each territory was the combination of several still-standing cities, and in total, five were established. One each in the northern, southern, western, and eastern regions, while the fifth and most important territory was established closed to the heart of the continent, becoming the Central Territory.

Each of these territories was ruled by a Governor, and these representatives answered to the central head, the Head Governor, who oversaw the Central Territory.

Located near the central region of the continent, where the main headquarters of the Helios Consortium had previously been, the Central Territory could be said to be the main gathering of the remaining surviving rich families, and those with influential backgrounds.

Of course, there were settlements still spread out across the continent, and even some select survivors who decided to live in ruined regions. But they weren't of notable consequence compared to the five established territories, which had become the true centers of human civilization on the continent.

The Westbridge Academy was located at the border of the western region, and after a short argument, the principal and the other survivors decided to journey to the Central Territory. Which could be considered more risky, as compared to the closer Western Territory. But when one considered that almost all the children who attended the school had notable backgrounds, it would become reasonable why they decided to take the risk.

Studying his status screen, Kael decided to dump his free attribute points into his agility stat, bringing it to 77. As for the reason why, it was simply due to the addition of his Weaver talent.

With such a talent at his disposal, he didn't have much need for strength; mobility and endurance were the key for now.

As for the gifts handed to him by his friends, Kael was sad to find out he couldn't use them all. At least efficiently. The Beginner Firearm Mastery that was merely at the Common rank only gave him the knowledge and experience of how to wield normal firearms. As for a sniper rifle? It was far above its pay grade.

He also had no experience wielding a sword, making the gift Alice gave him more of a decorative item. Of course, he still planned to wield the weapon for the stat boosts it gave, but to use it to fight was out of the question.

Unfortunately, there was no skill to help him to bridge this gap in his skills on his System Shop. But Kael was surprised to find a new addition among the list.

And an Epic-rank one at that.

Appraisal!

But when he thought about it, he felt it was only normal the system added such a skill, now that it had stopped passively showing the basic information of any being.

From now on, they had to start to rely more on their strength.

It was just that the skill cost a whopping one thousand points, one that Kael couldn't afford for the moment, as his system coins were at four hundred something at the moment. But he planned to immediately get his hands on the skill during the night event when he had sufficient points.

That was right!

They didn't only plan to escape the academy. They also planned to level as much as possible from this night event. After all, they didn't know if they would get such a chance to rapidly increase their power again.

Which was why the group was arranged in such a formation.

At the forefront of the group of over twenty stood Kael, Alice, Elena, Nathan, and Daniel. These five would be the vanguard of the team.

In the middle was the RUINSTEED on which rested the unconscious Nathaniel, and Natalie. Directly beside them were Rose, Sophia, and the Principal. Behind stood the other survivors, fear etched among their faces, as they gripped the blue swords conjured by Alice so tightly their knuckles turned white. Among this group were Claire, Ben, who could be considered half crippled, Iris, who had no direct attack methods, and a cloaked Rachel.

A few survivors threw Rachel curious glances despite their trepidation. The latter had suddenly become reclusive these past few days and always kept to herself. Initially, they hadn't thought it important, and had simply ignored her absence, but now that they were together, they couldn't help but notice the discrepancy in her behavior.

Not only could they not catch a sniff of her appearance, as the oversized dark cloak covered her completely, to the point even her hands were lost in the scruffs, there was this subtle hint of danger that emanated from her, which, rather than push them away, instead made them feel an inexplicable sense of unease, as though some instinct buried deep within them was warning them not to get too close. It was a strange contradiction; despite the danger they sensed from her, none of them could bring themselves to look away for too long.

Back at the forefront of the group, Kael, who was studying his status, and thinking of various ways to use his abilities efficiently, suddenly had a great change in expression.
