The Grand Catastrophe

Chapter Eleven: Allies, part one (138)

Chapter Eleven: Allies

“Did you two have a nice night?” Calvaria asked her, and Neia blushed deep red.

“Her skin is smooth,” Shizu simply spoke, and Neia sputtered.

The space they were in was large. It was a meeting room after all. The table in the middle was low, with small seats set around the thing. Holy Queen Calca sat there, seemingly annoyed with something. That thing was apartment by looking and listening in on the conversation here.

The windows were set tall. Light spilled into the room, morning light. Paladins were placed around the room. With their backs straight, and their hands filled with weapons.

Most of the room was white and gold in coloration. There was also very little blue in the space. Kelart Custodios, Remedios Custodios, and Prince Caspond were all there. Neia, Shizu, and Lady Calvaria were there as well, off to the side.

“So let me get this straight,” Calca said, and the rest simply let her speak as the messenger squire simply stood in front of her as she sat down at the table.

“First thing in the morning, we get a messenger from the Zerns. Their king was killed, now they need help rescuing their prince who is now king. They were being treated as though they were hostages. Many of their people don’t even want to here. Did I miss anything, or is there more?”

The room was silent as everyone soaked that all in. Calvaria sat there in the corner of the room, with the two girls by her side. Shizu was looking at the whole thing with focussed eyes. Her mind was trying to catch everything. As a Automaton, this was normal.

Neia, meanwhile, was trying not to think about the warmth of Shizu’s naked body against her own. That night, despite being so tired that her mind refused to recall many details, only remembered her warmth, and the sight of her naked form under the moonlight.

She was a gorgeous woman. She was lucky to have her as her girlfriend. It was something that she couldn’t get out of her mind at all. The soft skin, the warm flesh, and the breath on her body. It was imprinted into her mind like adamantite.

“Are you alright?” Calvaria asked her with a smirk leaking into her tone.

“Yes,” Neia said after glancing at her.

Calvaria merely hummed as she then shifted her sight over to the woman simply grabbing her own face. Holy Queen Calca was having a bad day. Mostly because of her good friend Remedios. The paladin captain was being a boob about the thing.

“It’s a trap! T. R. A. P. Trap!” she yelled out, her tone peaking and causing Calca to sigh.

“We need the city Kalinsha. This one is simply too small to hold us for long. Kalinsha is also the only city that has been taken by the demoness,” Calca said with a plain look on her face.

The Zern that had come to the city itself was still in the city. She had said that she would stay until after the prince had been saved, as a hostage. To the Zern, she may have been important, or not so. They had barely any info on them.

As they ranted back and forth on the topic, Neia thought back to the woman beside lady Calvaria, the one who had come with her. The girl was her age, or at least whatever the equivalent was for her age. It was hard to tell, even with her better than average senses.

She had started to think of her more than a friend though. She was cute, liked her, and they had fought on the same battlefield together. Maybe they could stay together after the war was over? Neia shrugged in her mind. That was for later.

“Okay then, how about we send someone powerful, but still not as important as the others?” Kelart proposed as she stepped behind her sister.

Remedios nodded her head, and then looked around the room. Her annoyance was palpable. It soaked the air around her. Neia really hoped that she didn’t pick her.

Then her eyes locked onto the paladin’s and her hope was lost. For a breathless second, her mind seemed to freeze as Remedios spoke. Her tone was clipped, and her voice was loud.

“Squire Neia Baraja, you will go and rescue their prince,” she said, and Neia dipped her head in lackluster loyalty.

“Of course ma’am. How shall we prepare, and when shall we depart?” she asked.

“You shall go alone,” remedios said, and her sister and queen sighed.

“I’m going with,” was all Shizu said before getting up, walking over to Neia, and picking her up.

She then sat down on Neia’s chair, and then placed Neia on her lap. The setting sun was less red than the humble squire at this point. It was as if a nuke had gone off, and not only on her face. She felt a little something downstairs, but no one would know that.

Neia sighed out loud as the top of the barrel was popped open, and she climbed out of the meat infested tube. She took a deep lungful of not-meat air, and kissed the not-meat ground. Shezu followed soon after. Her frown was evident only to Neia as she climbed out.

As she walked over to her girlfriend and started plucking the bits of meat out of her hair, Neia did the same for her. After this was done, the two of them looked around the room. There, near the now closed doors, was the Zern that had brought them in here.

Beebeebee was her name. She was supposed to stay behind as a captive to keep the Holy Kingdom trusting. Yet, it was soon brought up that the prince would only believe that they were there to rescue him if she was there, as he trusted her.

“I’m never doing that again,” Neia said as they both made their way over to her.

Beebeebee tilted her head back and forth, and let out a light, “fair,” before she put and ear to the door, and listened for guards. After a second or two, she opened the door, and they made their way into the night.
