Side Chapter: Reborn Blonde
He had passed from this earth. Gareth Cooper had died, his mind washing away like sand on the beach. It was a strange thing, to lose one’s mind to the reaper’s scythe. Images of his life passed the moment his life passed, and he died.
Gareth had died as he had lived, unashamedly. He had passed when he decided that fighting a bear was a good idea. A bear had moved onto his land, and he thought that he might as well shoot it. He hadn’t truly seen the blasted thing, and hadn’t realized how large it was.
In a bush, as he was a rather insane young man, he sat and prepped his gun. A large rifle that he had gotten for this hunt, he didn’t the chance to truly hit anything with it. There he sat, in his backyard in a bush.
When the bear came by, He fired, and missed. It was then that it noticed him, and charged. He was mauled, his mind searing with pain. His life flashed by, and he smiled at all the things he did. He frowned then, mildly annoyed at the pain going through him.
The bear seemed to be taking its time killing him. Yet at last, after a minute or so, he finally died. Sighing in his mind’s eye, he passed from the earth and ascended to heaven. Or, that would have happened if he qualified.
When his soul got to the pearly gates, he was cast aside as he wasn’t ready for it. Down and down he flew, past the earth, past hell, and into the void between dreams. There, his soul landed into a waiting womb after what felt like a dozen eternities stacked on one another.

In the fortress city of Ornfal, in the nation of the Baharuth Empire, a young girl was born. The screams of her mother rang out in the manor, servants busied themselves to and fro to make sure that the lady of the manor and the city itself was fine. This was lady Amalie Ornfal, wife to the Marque of Ornfal, whose name was Albert Ornfal.
On the berthing bed, the lady of the house screamed her heart out. Her blonde hair spread out behind her like a sweaty curtain of pain. The husband had no idea as to what to do, with her cussing and swearing him out.
The wetnurses and the maids moved to and fro, as usual. Yet, something was wrong, she should have given birth by this point. The head maid looked on, somewhat worried as the healer they had hired waited by the lady’s entrance for the child to come.
The lord of the manor simply sat by her side, holding the lady’s hand as she cussed him out. She was fine, for the most part. This was her first child and she was doing well, extremely so. Yet, after what felt like a week of pushing and screeching, the baby came out.
It was rather anti-climatic. The child simply slipped out too fast at the end for the doctor to help move them around. It didn’t matter, because the child was fine at the end of it all. A single handful of hairs spiraled on her head already, her cries sounding a bit sad that she had to leave the warmth of the womb.
...
Leimas Ornfal, that was the name that he had now. He wasn’t some great and powerful god when he was reborn. He wasn’t some sometime peasant that would die at 3 months old. He was a she, leinas Ornfal.
She looked up at the smiling face of her blonde mother as she cradled her in her arms. At three months old, she could already see and look all about the place. She had been reborn in some sort of fantasy world, as the cliche went. Was it one that she recognized, not right now.
If she had been reborn into a world that she knew of, she wouldn’t know right now, after all she wasn’t even a year old. One thing that she did know about, was complaints of something or other. Monsters and magic ran rampant in this world. People supposedly died all the time to them.
Her father’s military wasn’t as trained as it should have been, at least that was what he often said. The other nobles that surrounded his land and the city that the little one was currently was in, were apparently all stuck fighting each other.
He often had to move to locations that had high crime or a large amount of monsters, and fix it himself. From what she herself had seen of her father, he was a strong man. His body was ripe with muscle, and his movements were efficient. His darker blonde hair was short and trimmed.
Overall, he was a great fighter. Yet, he rarely was home, from what Leinas had seen so far. He was always off fighting bandits or monsters. He was barely with her at all, even when he was home.
When he was home, he was often with her mother, trying for another child. Or he was deep into the paperwork that he had missed. She sighed in her mind. She could tell the this life was going to be one of those strict ones, not that she truly cared.
She simply wanted to live a life full of glory. She had missed the great wars in her past life, and hadn’t truly had the chance to bloody herself in war. This time around, and had been born into a life that was going to stop her from doing that. Though, she was fairly certain that if she proved to be a good fighter, then she would have the chance to fight in war and battle.
She smiled at the thought. War, oh how she loved the concept. She had a feeling that she wouldn’t like it in reality, but she didn’t care right now. Right now, she was simply soaking in the warmth of her mother’s hug.
Her mother hugged her tighter, yet her mind was in other places. What was she to do now? Was she simply to wait until she was an age where she could act on her own? Maybe, if that was what it took to make sure that she had battle, that she had war.
She smiled, and her mother giggled at the look on her face. Leinas must have been rather funny to look at right now. She was a baby after all. Now, what else was there to see?
