The Grand Catastrophe

Chapter 7: Mobs, part three (54)

By the time that they had gotten back, it was night outside. Calvaria had switched out of her disguise and gone back looking like she was herself. Though, she wasn’t wearing her robes and instead was wearing simple casual dress. Pants and a simple shirt were all that one could see.

She sat down on the chair that she had used before, and let out a satisfied sigh was she sank into the cushions. This day had turned from stressful, to relaxed, to stressful again. The rest of the inhabitants of the house were there in the room with her, simply waiting for her to say what they were to do with Tuare.

Momonga, meanwhile, simply sipped her drink. Her mind was not even coming thinking of what Tuare’s duties will be. In her mind, it was obvious. She would be Sebas’s apprentice of sorts.

Yet, the NPCs didn’t seem to get that. She sighed at the thought. Maybe one day, these kids would find a way to think for themselves. Yet now, now she was the one thinking. Well, she’d say fifty percent of the time she was the one thinking. Demiurge was the one plotting along with Albedo the other fifty percent.

“Okay,” she said and leaned forward in her spot.

The others looked to her, as if her words were gospel. It was unnerving, sometimes. Yet, nowadays she was used to it. She was used to the worship. She was used to the prayers sent her way. Sometimes, she felt like she had become stronger by their power. Though, it must have just been the placebo effect.

“Tuare will be an apprentice of sorts to Sebas, starting the day after tomorrow. Tomorrow Sebas and Solution will be fixing all the loose ends that their stay here has made. In the meantime, Ninya and Tuare will stay here and make sure no one does anything funny on the property and whatnot. Am I clear?” she asked with a elegant tone of voice.

“Your orders are as clear as crystal, my lady,” Sebas said, and the rest of them nodded.

Momonga nodded her head at that as well. It was a good sign that they understood. It not only meant that her words were, of course, understood. It also meant that they had confidence in her words and orders.

“Good,” she said, “Now, if you all will excuse me, I have to prepare for some sort of adventurer business as Calvaria,” she said, standing up.

Then, she vanished. Her form disappeared in a puff of blue particles. It was a rather strange thing to witness it. To witness her just vanish like that. At least, for Tuare. The others in the room just started preparing for bed.

Ninya stood up and grabbed her sister by the hand. Sebas cleaned up the plates and cutlery on the table. Solution morphed her arm into a broom and swept the floors. It was like nothing had happened.

Meanwhile, back with Momonga, she had Teleported to the inn that she had been renting for the past couple of months. The woman herself was fine with this. After all, her old home had been much more decrepit. Her companions though, they had other opinions on the room.

Nabe and Anna were with her. Nabe was of course Narberal Gamma. Anna was Albedo.

When Calvaria teleported to the room, there she saw her two party members cleaning the place. Their adventurer disguises still up and on. Calvaria sighed as she sat on the edge of her bed. The soft bedding helping her calm down from the rest of the day.

She looked to the other two, Anna and Nabe were rather busy with the cleaning. So busy, in fact, that they didn’t even notice that she was there. She sighed once more. This seemed to draw them out of whatever funk that they had draw themselves into while cleaning.

They both stopped what they were doing, and got up from the floor of which they had been cleaning. They turned, their faces locking onto the sole supreme being in the room, and panicked slightly.

“My Lady, I’m sorry for the shameful display of a room,” Nabe spoke first, bowing as she did so.

The room was fine. The floor glittered like gold. Yet, the girl still seemed like a nervous wreck. Calvaria shook her head with exasperation. Anna spoke next, her tone clearly telling. It was her idea to clean this place, wasn’t it?

“My lady, I am very sorry to have not cleaned this room to your spectacular specifications,” she said and did a half bow.

Calvaria just rubbed her brows again. Her exhaustion palpable. The other two seemingly took this to mean that she was mad, and bowed even lower.

“I am sorry for not meeting your standards, my lady!” the two of the spoke in tandem.

“Just don’t, I’m tired and want to rest. In the morning, we are to meet the men that’ll bring us to this, “Marquis Raven,” she said, her tone tired.

She looked over the two of them, and let out a yawn. They seemed fine now. The both of them were standing up straight. Their faces still displayed worry, as if she was going to smite them. Yet, she couldn’t really bring herself to care right now.

“Just go to bed, I’m tired and want to sleep,” she said, and plopped fully down on her bed.

Nabe went over to her own bed. While Anna lay down in Calvaria’s bed. Her body pressed up against the other woman. Calvaria smiled at this. The warmth of the other woman making her eyes and mind rest faster. As she closed her eyes, using a spell to snuff out the lights, she could hear the breathing of the guardian overseer in her ear.

“She’s so gorgeous, my goddess is,” she could barely hear Albedo whisper.

A small smile, the smallest a person could have, appeared on Calvaria’s face. While she hated the fact that she kind of had to play up this goddess like role. She did like the fact that her lover, Albedo or Anna right now, called her such. It inflated her ego and made her feel much better than she actually was.

As the moon started to glow in the sky, the light of its surface bright, it reflected on the girl’s face. Anna didn’t really care about the moon at all. It was just a rock in the sky to her. that was until she had seen the utterly divine sight that its light made when it danced on her love’s face.

In fact, she could say that she liked the light of the moon more than the light of the sun. After all, it detailed her skin in such a way that reminded Anna of silver, and of platinum. Anna caressed her love’s face, her fingers slithering to and fro on her skin.

“I love you, my Goddess,” she whispered as she gazed, and she got a response.

“I love you too, Albedo, I love you too,” Calvaria responded, her tone whispery as she fell fully under the veil of sleep; and Albedo smiled.
