Chapter 42: Song Yurong Destroys Another Sect
The people who arrived were led by an old man in the Golden Core realm, and behind him were several Foundation Establishment cultivators. These people soon arrived to meet the woman who had appeared to demand their presence.
The Golden Core cultivator started first, "I am Chu Fen, the sect leader of the Red Sun sect. What business do you have with our sect?"
Song Yurong answered, "Your sect has taken my maid without my permission and I want her back."
Chu Fen asked, confused, "Who is this maid you are talking about? I don’t know if our sect has taken any maids of a Golden Core cultivator like yourself."
Song Yurong further explained, irritated, "I am Song Yurong and someone from your sect has taken a maid from the Song family. The maid is called Su Ming, and she was my personal maid, and I don’t agree with her being taken into your sect."
The group listening to the woman in front of them speaking about her maid only left them in confusion. Then, one of the people present moved forward, seemingly knowing what Song Yurong was talking about.
The man said, "I am Chu Meng and I traded for your maid fairly, so you have no right to take her back. The eldest son of the Song family has already entered our sect and has received our training resources and become a Qi Refining cultivator. Now that he has taken our benefit, I can’t just give back the woman that was traded for him. Besides, this maid of yours is one of my favorite concubines."
Song Yurong then became very angry and threatened, "If you don’t give her back, then suffer the consequences."
Chu Meng then became angry too, as he was trying to resolve this situation peacefully since he had already traded fairly. He didn’t want to give the woman back, but Song Yurong kept pressing him to return her maid. This made him refuse to give the maid back even more.
Chu Meng then answered, "This maid is mine now and I won’t give her back. Attack us if you dare, but my brother is right here, who is also a Golden Core cultivator. Do you really think you can handle all of us yourself?"
Song Yurong, hearing how stubborn Chu Meng was, decided to not waste any more words, as no result will come from it. She decided to just find Su Ming herself later after killing these people here, even if it takes more time later.
Song Yurong then summoned a fireball and said, "This is your last chance. Hand her over or die."
The group that arrived, not liking the feeling of being threatened by a single woman, then prepared to have a fight. These cultivators refuse to bow down just because someone told them to.
Song Yurong observed that these cultivators had no intention of backing down, so she shot her fireballs towards the group of cultivators, wanting to establish her authority quickly.
As the fireballs grew closer, the group of cultivators from the Red Sun sect went into a defensive position to try to block the fireballs. Soon the fireballs made contact, and these cultivators instantly felt the pressure of the powerful spells.
The fireballs kept raining down nonstop, causing some of the cultivators—who thought this battle was a guaranteed victory due to sheer numbers—to run out of qi due to exhaustion and lose their defense. This caused these cultivators, who were without defense, to be easily blasted by these fireballs to ash.
After many Foundation Establishment realm cultivators had perished, Song Yurong started using far more powerful fireballs, as the previous attack was to kill the weaker ones first and make the stronger ones let down their guard.
As the attack suddenly increased in destructive power out of nowhere, the cultivators present weren’t prepared and had their defense easily cracked due to trying to conserve energy with a bare minimum defense. This caused many more cultivators to die from the new attack.
When Song Yurong felt that a sufficient number of cultivators from the Red Sun sect had died, she finally stopped her barrage of attacks. The ones who were left were only the sect leader Chu Fen and his brother Chu Meng.
This was due to their high cultivation levels protecting them, as Chu Fen was a Golden Core and Chu Meng was at the ninth level of Foundation Establishment.
Looking around, Chu Fen realized his entire sect’s elders other than his brother had died. He then regretted helping his brother over keeping a single concubine, but it was now too late.
As Chu Fen was about to talk it out with Song Yurong—as the losses were already too heavy and he couldn’t afford any more—Song Yurong suddenly continued her attack again. This time, Song Yurong tried using the same method and summoned a gigantic fireball and shot it towards the both of them at extreme speed.
The two, seeing such a large attack coming at them, then tried to defend against the fireball. Once the fireball collided with the both of them, a huge explosion took place, and even the heat could be felt from far away.
Knowing this might not be the end, Song Yurong took out the treasures that Jiang Yun had given her and intended to use them to deal the finishing blow once the explosion cleared.
As the smoke cleared away, what was left made Song Yurong think that she had worried too much. Inside the cleared smoke, one body was completely burned to ash, and the other had his lower body blown away and was charred badly. The man that still had some flesh left was Chu Fen, but he was very close to dying and was on his last breath.
Song Yurong, who had been ready to deal the finishing blow, decided to put Chu Fen out of his misery and cut off his head, which was barely still attached. Thus ended the Red Sun sect elders who had been so confident in their power before.
In this fight, Song Yurong was much more prepared than before and still had some qi to spare, so she flew down into the Red Sun sect to search for Su Ming. Now that the Red Sun elders are dead, there was nobody stopping her, as the remaining disciples were only Qi Refining realm cultivators and were easily eliminated by Song Yurong.
After searching for a while and not finding Su Ming, she thought maybe she should have kept Chu Meng alive to lead the way, but it was too late and Song Yurong could only continue to search.
Not being able to find her after an entire hour, Song Yurong wondered just where she should search next. A figure then suddenly appeared in front of her. The figure was Song Ren, who was Song Yurong’s eldest brother.
Song Ren then asked, as he had seen her battle with the sect elders before, "How did you become so strong, and what are you doing here? Does our father know that you are here destroying my sect? Well since you are this strong now, I guess it's fine, as long as you guide me to become strong like you. In this way I don’t need to lower myself here to get cultivation resources anymore."
Song Yurong, who was already irritated and now had her brother annoying her, felt even more annoyed. She then lost her temper and grabbed Song Ren by his neck, as he was the main cause that made Su Ming get captured.
Song Yurong then asked, "Since you’ve been at this sect for so long, you must know where my maid, Su Ming, is. Take me to her now or die."
Song Ren then felt fear from his sister for the first time. The pressure she was emitting was unbearable, and he soon explained everything.
Song Ren then said, "That maid of yours is at the elder's residence. I saw him taking her inside and never saw her coming out. She must still be inside."
Song Yurong then thought back to the residence she had already searched through but couldn’t find anything. Now, from Song Ren’s words, it seemed she truly had missed something when she searched before.
Having gotten the information she wanted, Song Yurong knocked Song Ren unconscious and dragged him along in case she had further questions. Arriving at the residence she had already rummaged through, Song Yurong decided to be more thorough this time.
After looking at everything for a long time, Song Yurong finally found a clue as she moved aside the bed in the main bedroom. Underneath the bed was an opening that led down to a dark space.
Descending down the dark opening, Song Yurong wondered where this entrance led to. Once she had completely descended, what appeared in front of her shocked her, as it was an entire prison under Chu Meng’s bed.
There were rows of cells that were locked with iron bars, and in each of them were beautiful women. These women were probably forcibly taken by Chu Meng and kept here obediently for when he needed them.
Song Yurong then quickly searched through the cells, hoping that she could find Su Ming. After looking through several cells, she finally laid eyes on a familiar figure. The figure was very skinny, seemingly starved to such a point. She was also chained to the wall unable to move.
The woman seemed to have suffered very much during her time here and seemed like she could be blown away by the wind at any time. This woman who was chained was the person that Song Yurong had been looking for, Su Ming.
