Chapter 41: Resolving Song Yurong’s Regret
The two soon arrived at the Song family territory. This place was not nearly as big or luxurious as the Han family territory, but it was still much wealthier than several wealthy families combined.
Song Yurong then entered the territory calmly, as this was the home she had lived in for most of her life and she was very familiar with the area.
She then walked towards the main building that was the living area for the Song family. It was a large building without any particular decorations, so you could call this place very plain.
Used to the sight of her home, Song Yurong passed through the doors without anyone stopping her, as she was the daughter of the Song family and everyone present, including the guards, recognized her. This allowed Song Yurong to easily walk into the building that used to be her home.
Song Yurong then began to look around, seemingly attempting to look for someone. As she continued to enter deeper into the building, her face darkened as she couldn’t find the person she was looking for.
Jiang Yun then asked from behind her, as he was following along, "Who are you looking for so intently?"
Song Yurong replied, "I am looking for my maid. She was the only person who treated me well throughout my life, but I never treated her with the same kindness. As I was a daughter with no power, I was practically invisible to my parents, and I took out my frustration on her."
"When I became engaged, my maid helped me escape. I was truly grateful for her and am very guilty for how I treated her throughout my life, and it was my regret in the illusion you showed me."
Jiang Yun then thought back to how he made Song Yurong go through an illusion, and it now made sense as to why she took so long before. She was trying to correct how she acted throughout her life in the illusion, so of course it took a long time to resolve.
The two continued through the halls and arrived in the main hall of the building where a man was seated at a desk, seemingly busy with something, and in front of him were two young men who looked very similar to the man.
Song Yurong, arriving inside the main hall and seeing these people, started asking, "Father, I am now back, as we no longer have to worry about the Han family. Now that I’m back, where is Su Ming, my maid? I have come back to take her with me."
The man who was sitting at the desk, who was Song Yurong’s father, then raised his head. He then said with an emotionless voice, as if Song Yurong coming back was only natural, "I see you are back now. Now that you are back, go and prepare to be married off to the Han family. As for not needing to worry about the Han family, you are right—now that you are back, we no longer need to worry about their wrath."
Noticing her father didn’t answer her question, Song Yurong asked again, "Where is Su Ming? Why haven’t I seen her anywhere?"
Song Yurong’s father then answered in an uncaring voice, "That maid? What does she matter? If you want to know so much, we gave her away soon after you left as a concubine of a cultivator, as punishment for her allowing you to escape."
"Thankfully, despite her actions that could have ruined our family, she was useful for something, as we traded her to allow your eldest brother to enter the Red Sun Sect and become a cultivator, as the man who took her was an elder of the sect."
Song Yurong then got angry, as the person she wanted to take with her—as she was the only kind person that she had throughout her life—was given away just like that. She then turned back, intending to quickly leave this place and look for her maid.
Seeing that Song Yurong was trying to leave, the two young men who were remaining silent in front of the desk suddenly moved forward to block Song Yurong’s way.
One of the young men then said, "Little sister, where do you think you are going? Now that you are back, you have to prepare for your wedding with your fiancé."
The other young man continued, "You can’t escape again with us here watching you. This time if you escape, who knows where you’ll go."
Originally, Song Yurong didn’t feel like dealing with the Song family, as they were still her flesh and blood, and just wanted to take her maid with her. Now she has changed her mind, as what kind of family sells each other out for profit and won’t even let them leave when they have urgent business to take care of?
Song Yurong decided not to hold back and summoned a small fireball which she launched at each of her brothers. When the fireball made contact with their bodies, they couldn’t react and were blown away and crashed into the wall, becoming a bloody, charred mess.
Song Yurong then was amazed by her power, as the brothers who had looked down on her all her life were defeated so easily.
Song Yurong’s father's face then changed as he realized his daughter had now become a cultivator.
He then said, "I see you are a cultivator now, no wonder you came back. Since you are a cultivator now, I suppose you don’t need to marry the Han family, but you shouldn’t have injured your brothers."
"As punishment, you need to help our family with some business that will require your strength. Of course, you won’t be enjoying the profit, as punishment."
This made Song Yurong not believe what she was hearing. She was a dignified cultivator now; what right does her father have to command her?
She then stepped forward and grabbed her father, tossing him towards the wall. As he crashed into the wall, he suffered injuries and coughed up blood from his insides being crushed.
Song Yurong then said, "You have no right to command me for what you have done to me throughout my life. Considering you are my father I won’t kill you, but from today on we have no relation."
Song Yurong then turned away and swiftly left, not wanting to see her pathetic family any longer. Left behind, Song Yurong’s father was confused as to why his daughter disobeyed him and got angry at how she had just acted.
As head of the Song family, he couldn’t be humiliated like this and yelled, "Guards, come here!"
The guards quickly arrived and saw the mess that was in the main hall, wondering what just happened.
The head of the Song family then gave his order, "My rebellious daughter has escaped. Go and quickly capture her."
Hearing the man’s order, the guards quickly left to capture Song Yurong.
Song Yurong had already left the Song family estate and was trying to head towards the Red Sun Sect. She knew this sect, as it was the closest sect around.
Though she was a mortal, being so close to a sect made her naturally know about them, even though she doesn’t know their exact level of power.
Song Yurong, knowing the general location, quickly arrived at the Red Sun Sect, which was of a decent size. Looking at the once-imposing sect when she was a mortal, she no longer felt the same fear as when she first heard about them.
Jiang Yun, who was following closely behind, looked at the sect too, as he wanted to assess their level of power. After a quick glance, Jiang Yun found no real powerful cultivators in the sect.
The highest cultivator was a Golden Core, and the rest were a few Foundation Establishment realms as well as several Qi Refining realms. It could be said they were even weaker than the Land God Sect that Song Yurong had destroyed before.
Observing their weak combat power, Jiang Yun said, "There is no powerful person here that can rival you, so I will watch from the side. You can resolve your grudge yourself."
After saying that, Jiang Yun, like before, disappeared into the distance, as he intends to just watch from afar.
Song Yurong had heard Jiang Yun’s words and felt relieved, as she didn’t know what level the Red Sun Sect was at. With Jiang Yun’s confirmation, she no longer worried that she couldn’t take on this sect herself and was fully confident in facing this challenge.
Song Yurong then, like before, repeated her previous process, as entering the sect to try to slowly find Su Ming would be far too troublesome. It would be far easier to just threaten them to hand her maid over and be done with the matter.
So, Song Yurong shouted loud enough for the entire Red Sun Sect to hear, "I am Song Yurong, and I have some business with your sect, so all of you who are in charge at this sect quickly come out here to meet me!"
Once she was finished, several figures came out of the sect and were flying towards her.
