Realizing the old man was the master Han Zhiheng had talked about brought her to full alert.

Originally, she thought the difference of a few minor realms wouldn’t be a problem. However, though her attack earlier wasn’t at her full power, it was still easily caught by this old man. This made her realize that the gap between her and the old man was significant, and she needed to take things seriously. She adjusted her stance, focused entirely on the opponent in front of her.

The old man was surprised to see that his attack did not damage her. This time, he put far more effort into his strike and threw an even larger, swirling mass of energy that caused the surrounding air to tremble slightly.

This attack, too, was punched and scattered into the air just like the previous one, dissolving into the space around.

The old man was embarrassed that his attacks were having no effect despite him putting effort into them. Growing completely serious, he decided to attack in person. He then rushed toward Song Yurong at an extreme speed.

As the old man closed in, Song Yurong used her trump card: the Law of Time. Since she had no flashy moves and only had this one trick taught to her, she decided to use it to the fullest.

Coming close to Song Yurong, the old man suddenly started to slow down, his fast movements turning slightly sluggish.

The amount of slowness was very slight, but it caught the old man off guard, as he didn’t think his movements would slow down before even touching his enemy. The slowness was slight, but it was enough to create an opening that Song Yurong immediately took advantage of.

Song Yurong threw the strongest punch she could currently output, aiming straight at the old man's chest. The old man knew the punch was coming but couldn’t move his body to block in time, so he tightened his body instead, preparing for the worst.

As the punch landed directly on his body, the old man could feel his insides being crushed by the force.

The slowed time went back to normal, and he flew back, landing heavily on the floor and coughing up blood. Although his injuries weren’t lethal, his carelessness had left him heavily wounded.

The old man stood up no longer underestimating this young girl. He decided to focus his full attention on the opponent in front of him, whom he could clearly see was only at the first level of the Foundation Establishment realm.

This made the old man bewildered as to why someone with such a low level of cultivation could possess such a supernatural power. He decided to wait and see Song Yurong’s next move, keeping his distance as he was unsure of what else she was capable of.

Song Yurong, however, was upset at this moment. The punch she had thrown with her full power had only heavily injured her opponent, even though she had already revealed her trump card.

This meant she no longer had the element of surprise, and the rest of this battle would be much more difficult.

Song Yurong then took out her flying sword, which she hadn’t used before because she did not know how to use it for combat. She was unsure if this would improve her fighting abilities, but she wanted to at least give it a try since this battle was going to be tough.

The old man saw Song Yurong draw a sword and assumed she hadn’t used her full power until now, believing she was only just getting serious. This made him start to worry if he could handle the fight, yet he was still reluctant to use his actual trump card—a single-use treasure.

Debating whether to use it, he decided to try one more attack first. The old man unleashed his full strength to strike Song Yurong. The attack rippled the surrounding air as he put everything he could muster into a Qi-imbued fist.

As the dangerous attack grew close, Song Yurong once again used her Law of Time to buy herself a few moments to counterattack.

The old man immediately felt the same slowing sensation. This time he was prepared; he launched his Qi from his fist and guarded his body.

Because the Law of Time Song Yurong used was still limited, she couldn’t stop both the incoming attack and the old man's defense. She prioritized the Qi-based attack coming towards her and turned her full power of the law of time on it.

Once the sensation of slowed time vanished, the old man stopped defending and rushed toward Song Yurong to try to take advantage of her opening.

Since she had too little time to dodge, she could only block the old man's punch with her sword. Even though she blocked it, the force of the attack still had enough power to push Song Yurong back several feet, causing her some minor injuries.

Realizing his plan worked, the old man felt confident again and tried the exact same successful method. Song Yurong was unsure how to solve this problem and could only do the same thing again to buy time.

The result, just like before, left Song Yurong with more injuries. This made her realize just how much experience she lacked, as she was still a new cultivator and had no real foundation, unlike the old man who was a veteran.

Jiang Yun, who was watching from the side, realized it was still too early for Song Yurong to fight across realms higher than her own and decided he needed to intervene. He took out some healing pills from his ring to heal her injuries and replenish her energy, tossing them over to her.

Not knowing exactly what Jiang Yun had given her, she took them anyway, as she was desperate and trusted him completely.

Soon, her injuries healed and her energy was almost completely replenished. This gave her a huge advantage over the old man, who was still heavily injured and was using up a lot of his Qi.

Seeing Song Yurong nearly back at full strength, the old man knew that hiding his trump card any longer would be dangerous; it wasn't worth saving if he ended up dead.

He took out a pill and quickly ate it. His power immediately started to climb rapidly, surging up to the ninth level of the Foundation Establishment realm.

This power, however, was temporary. His aura was no longer stable and would probably cause him severe backlash later. The old man didn’t care, as this fight could easily result in his death.

With his new power at the ninth level of Foundation Establishment, he was no longer afraid and rushed toward Song Yurong to attack.

Song Yurong realized the old man had used a pill to increase his power and didn’t know what to do. Even before, when the old man was injured, she could barely keep up. Now that he was so much stronger, there wasn’t much she could do to stop him.

Jiang Yun, still observing, decided to help Song Yurong further. Not wanting her to rely on pills to boost her cultivation—as it would make her future progress unstable—Jiang Yun intervened directly, slowing down the old man with his own Law of Time.

His Law of Time was infinitely more powerful than Song Yurong's, and the old man was completely frozen in place, unable to move a single muscle.

Realizing Jiang Yun was helping her again, Song Yurong finally had time to breathe and decided to take the opportunity to attack the old man herself.

The attack landed, resulting in only minor damage because the difference between their realms was too high, meaning her attacks didn’t do as much as before against his reinforced body. Although the effect was minimal, Song Yurong continued her assault, landing several consecutive attacks on the frozen old man.

The old man, still frozen in place, could do nothing about it. Soon, he was even more heavily injured, holding onto his last breath of life.

Jiang Yun then released the old man from being stuck in place seeing that his help was no longer necessary.

The old man, seeing that his situation was dire, decided to use his last means of survival, which was to use his sect’s name. He threatened, "I am from the Land God Sect! If you kill me, a Golden Core cultivator as well as several Foundation Establishment cultivators will come to hunt you down. If you let me go, we can still talk about how to settle things."

After finishing his words, the old man felt confident in his threat and waited for Song Yurong to agree.

Unfortunately for him, Song Yurong ignored his threats and dealt the final blow, completely ending the old man’s life—an opponent who had taken so much of her effort to defeat.

Song Yurong then turned her attention to the rest of the men in the hall, who had originally been completely confident in the old man and were just watching.

Seeing the old man die, they now realized they were next.
