Chapter 37: Song Yurong Faces Off Against Cultivators
As the cultivators were extremely confident, they decided they didn’t even need to go all out. They kept their offensive treasures hidden and only used a fraction of their Qi to launch a casual attack.
Seeing this weak display made Song Yurong feel extremely underestimated. She directly slapped away the incoming blasts of Qi and threw a heavy punch toward the highest-level cultivator among the attackers—a third-level Qi Refining realm cultivator.
The cultivator initially assumed her physical strike would do no damage, but he was instantly proven wrong. The impact sent him flying back, crashing deeply into the hard ground. He immediately coughed up a violent spray of blood, staining the earth before quickly drawing his last breath.
The others who were about to launch another wave of attacks froze in their tracks, watching their companion die right in front of them. They suddenly realized this woman was incredibly powerful.
After finishing her attack, Song Yurong suddenly had a thought and turned to look at Jiang Yun. "When can I learn about some fancy attacks? I have only been punching people lately and am starting to feel a bit left out seeing all these other cultivators using Qi-based moves. When can I start learning to do that?"
Jiang Yun then realized that other than teaching her the Law of Time, he hadn’t actually taught Song Yurong any combat techniques yet. He replied, "It’s a bit inconvenient to teach you right now, since you are still in the middle of a battle. I will teach you once you resolve the situation here."
Receiving a promise to learn new moves, Song Yurong instantly became happy. She turned her attention back to the remaining attackers, intending to finish them off as quickly as possible.
The attacking cultivators suddenly felt deeply worried, realizing they were now being treated like prey. Even more embarrassing was the fact that they now had to beg for help. Swallowing their pride, they called out to the stronger cultivators who were still watching from the sidelines, desperately asking for assistance.
Seeing that the initial group was in an unfavorable situation, the cultivators in the fourth and fifth levels of Qi Refining finally stepped forward to provide support. However, the sixth-level Qi Refining cultivator decided the fight was still not yet worthy of his personal intervention and continued to watch the show.
As the stronger cultivators joined the battle, the men who had just been panicking instantly regained their confidence. With this extra help, they felt certain of victory. They quickly launched a combined barrage of attacks, with the fourth and fifth-level cultivators unleashing the largest and most destructive attacks.
Not caring in the slightest that stronger opponents had joined the fight, Song Yurong remained completely calm and casual. She rushed forward, closing the distance instantly, and threw heavy punches one after another. Each punch that landed sent another lifeless body flying backward to crash heavily into the ground.
As more of their companions fell, the remaining cultivators realized they no longer held the advantage. Fear gripped them, and they prepared to turn and run away. Seeing them stop their attacks to run, Song Yurong closed in on the fleeing men, ending their lives in short succession with a single punch each.
Once Song Yurong had finished, the ground was littered with the corpses of the cultivators who had dared to attack her. The onlookers were absolutely terrified by the sheer power of this woman, wondering what she would do next.
The sixth-level Qi Refining cultivator realized he could no longer just stand by and watch. Although the woman's feats were astonishing and he no longer felt he had a guaranteed chance of winning, he still had a duty to face the intruder.
Wanting to minimize his risks, he tried to launch a surprise attack while Song Yurong's attention was seemingly elsewhere. He pulled out his bell-shaped treasure, intending to unleash a devastating sonic wave.
But Song Yurong had already noticed his movements. Before the cultivator could fully activate his treasure, she rushed directly toward him and landed her punch. Like the others before him, he crashed into the ground, reduced to a bloody mess as he died.
Han Zhiheng, who had been watching the scene unfold, now panicked completely. All of his protectors were dead, leaving him with nothing but his family's useless guards, who weren't even cultivators. Realizing his danger, he immediately fled, hoping to get help from his father and his master.
Just as Han Zhiheng turned to run, Song Yurong appeared behind him grabbing his clothes to halt his escape. She dragged him back to his brother, Han Chen, to give them a forced family reunion.
Now, finding himself in the exact same helpless position as his brother, Han Zhiheng felt deeply embarrassed, finally understanding how his brother had been captured so easily. Han Chen, seeing his arrogant brother caught as well, felt a strange sense of relief that he was no longer suffering alone. However, he also felt a growing dread, unsure if his family could actually handle these two terrifying intruders.
Realizing he had no way to escape, Han Zhiheng tried to use threats to save himself. He glared at Jiang Yun and Song Yurong, shouting, "My master won’t let you go if you harm me! He is an elder of the Land God Sect, and the Sect Master is a powerful Golden Core cultivator! My master himself is at the fourth level of the Foundation Establishment realm! Offending him will only end in your demise, so release me now!"
Hearing this Song Yurong felt a slight worry since she was still only at the first level of the Foundation Establishment realm herself. However, her anxiety quickly vanished as she remembered she possessed the Law of Time—and, more importantly, she had Jiang Yun standing right beside her. Realizing her fears were entirely unnecessary, she calmed down.
Song Yurong then looked at Han Zhiheng and replied, "In that case, take me to this master of yours. We will see what happens once we fight."
Han Zhiheng, seeing his threats weren’t working, decided his only choice was to seek his father and master for help. He then led the two deeper into Han family territory, heading toward the main hall where his father was.
The remaining guards present were swiftly dealt with by Song Yurong as she then followed Han Zhiheng to find his master. As they passed through the territory, many guards and cultivators saw their family’s young master being held captive and tried to rescue him. All these attempts ended in failure, resulting in their deaths.
Han Zhiheng could only watch as his family’s forces were constantly being killed, and there was nothing he could do about it. As they continued, they finally arrived at a very large building decorated with many expensive objects, with a garden in front that had a large variety of flowers.
Han Zhiheng then warned them one more time, "This is the main hall of my family’s territory, which has my father inside. More importantly, it is where my master is currently staying while he helps me cultivate. This is your last chance to release me or suffer the consequences."
Song Yurong, still ignoring Han Zhiheng's threats, replied, "I don’t care what you have to say. Just do your job and lead the way inside."
Han Zhiheng then swallowed his anger and led the two inside. Upon entering and passing through the halls, Song Yurong was amazed by the Han family’s wealth, as every corner was decorated with something expensive. Even though her own family was rich, it wasn’t to the point of competing with what the Han family had here.
As the group continued inside, they finally arrived in the innermost hall where a group of people were currently sitting. Among them was a man who looked like a much older version of Han Zhiheng with a scruffy beard, who was Han Zhiheng’s father.
Happy to see his father, Han Zhiheng immediately cried out, "Father, these people have captured me! Quickly help me and deal with these two to avenge all the guards that they have killed and set me free!"
Han Zhiheng’s father looked at his son like he was pathetic loser for begging for help. He then turned to Jiang Yun and Song Yurong and asked, "Do you realize you are offending my family by doing this? Let him go now or suffer the consequences."
Song Yurong was starting to feel annoyed by the constant threats and wanted to deal with these people quickly. She then turned her head to see that Jiang Yun, like her, was equally annoyed.
Jiang Yun had seen far too many people like this and had killed several of them. He too wanted to deal with this man quickly and silence this same dialogue that happened every time.
Seeing that Jiang Yun was annoyed too, Song Yurong didn’t waste any more time and rushed toward Han Zhiheng’s father to kill him quickly to stop his words.
Unfortunately, her attack didn’t land. Instead, it was caught by an old-looking man with completely white hair and a long beard. This man was at the Foundation Building realm, and Song Yurong wondered where he had come from, as she hadn’t seen him in the hall before.
Song Yurong then pulled her hand away, backed off to where she was originally, and asked, "Who are you?"
The old man then said in a casual voice, as if Song Yurong was not worth his attention, "I am the master of Han Zhiheng, whom you have captured by your side."
