Chapter 36: Song Yurong Arrives at Han Family Territory
As Jiang Yun waited for Song Yurong to come back with Han Chen, he cleaned up the area by gathering the unconscious cultivators and guards together in one place. After finishing, Jiang Yun soon saw Song Yurong coming back with an unconscious Han Chen.
Song Yurong then stopped in front of Jiang Yun, beaming with joy as she was now strong enough to easily deal with her pursuers. She never dreamed of a day when she would so easily fight the people whom she used to see as unreachable.
Jiang Yun then asked, "How was your first fight as a cultivator?"
Song Yurong replied, "It felt amazing. I no longer need to worry about having to hide and can directly fight back confidently."
As Jiang Yun had observed from the side, he knew how well Song Yurong had handled the situation rather than being nervous from still being new to cultivation.
Jiang Yun then asked, "What do you intend to do with that man in your grasp now that you caught him alive?"
Song Yurong then answered, "I want to have him be a witness for us when we go to the Han family. I have been oppressed by them for quite some time now, and Han Chen was the first one I dealt with personally. So, I want him to see what happens to his family before I permanently deal the finishing blow."
As Song Yurong had already made a firm decision, Jiang Yun didn’t feel like interfering too much with her choice. Instead, he asked, "Are you ready to head out and deal with that mortal family now?"
Song Yurong replied, "I am ready now, as with my current power, I don’t see any way for that family full of mortal people with money to deal with me."
Jiang Yun, seeing her positive reply, said, "Then we’ll go there now."
Jiang Yun then held Song Yurong’s shoulder and disappeared from the spot they were standing, leaving behind nothing but an empty village with no one left behind.
Jiang Yun and Song Yurong then appeared outside the Han family territory with Han Chen and the unconscious guards and cultivators that he had brought along. Jiang Yun was currently unsure what to do with the captured guards and cultivators, so he just brought them along to solve everything altogether.
Song Yurong suddenly realized that she was no longer in the same place and had moved somewhere completely different. She then looked at Jiang Yun in amazement at how he could move so many people so far in such a short amount of time. She then asked, "Where are we now?"
Jiang Yun replied, "Since I intend for you to deal with the Han family, I decided now would be a great time to do it. So, we are now in front of the territory of the Han family."
Song Yurong then looked around and realized it was true, as the massive front gate clearly had the emblem of the Han family, she had seen Han Chen use before. She then wondered if she could do the exact same as Jiang Yun in the future if she cultivates enough.
Having arrived, she decided to steel her resolve as she was heading to the very same place she was trying so hard to avoid before. After setting aside her initial anxiety, she stepped forward and broke through the gates that surrounded the Han family territory with a heavy strike.
Jiang Yun then followed along with the unconscious people he had taken along. Song Yurong then decided to wake up Han Chen and his guards to witness the spectacle that was about to happen, wanting them to mark the day she was finally free from running away.
Waking up, Han Chen was completely bewildered at how he was still alive and where he was. The guards and cultivators that he brought thought the same thing.
Song Yurong then explained, "I brought you to witness me destroying your family. This is what happens when you mess with me."
Han Chen realized that he was back at his family home and immediately lost his fear of Song Yurong. This was due to his absolute confidence in the Han family's power. The people he had brought before were only an initial scout team meant to protect him. Due to him being the second son, his team was far from the strongest in the family.
Now that Song Yurong was here to cause trouble, the Han family would spare no expense to kill them, thereby rescuing him from his current situation.
Han Chen then threatened, "You dare to invade my family territory? You have a death wish. There are several powerful people guarding my family, and you can only wait to die now that you are here. Let me go now and you won’t die a miserable death."
The guards and cultivators echoed what Han Chen said, as they too believed Song Yurong was not a match for the main Han family. Soon, the main estate guards arrived due to the loud disturbance at the gate.
Due to the Han family being so wealthy and powerful, these estate guards were usually relaxed, as there was normally nothing to do since who would dare offend such a powerful family in the mortal world. Now, hearing the commotion and seeing the gate broken, they were immediately alerted and arrived.
The lead guard then asked, "Why have you destroyed the gate of the Han family territory? Do you realize you are offending us, and we won’t let you go now that you are here?"
As the guard was finishing his words, he immediately started to draw his weapon. Song Yurong didn’t answer and remained completely silent upon hearing the man’s question. As he didn’t hear an immediate reply, the lead guard began directly attacking, as they were intruders and he was only initially curious who dared to invade.
The rest of the guards with him also charged forward, intending to eliminate the intruders. These guards were far stronger than the ones brought by Han Chen, as even the weakest among them was a fourth-level Body Building realm expert.
The leader of the guards was at the very peak of the fifth level of the Body Building realm and could become a cultivator at any moment, the instant he could absorb Qi into his body. As cultivators tend not to spread their cultivation techniques, the leader of the guards remained stuck at the Body Building realm.
As the guards closed in, Song Yurong used lethal blows this time, as she had no reason to keep them alive now that they were acting murderous. She landed one punch each on these non-cultivators, which was enough to instantly cause them to bleed heavily throughout their bodies and die from fatal damage.
As one after another of the guards died, some of the remaining ones panicked and started to run away, as they wanted to report to a higher authority to request backup. Song Yurong let them report, as it would save her the trouble of having to go find the rest of the people herself.
As she killed the ones who stayed behind to buy time for the ones who escaped, she took her sweet time, and reinforcements soon arrived.
The reinforcements this time included another young man who was older but looked extremely similar to Han Chen. Behind him were several fifth-level Body Building realm practitioners and several Qi Refiners, ranging from the first to the sixth level. Among them were some of the guards who had run away earlier, now confident that the group they brought could easily deal with the intruders.
Upon arriving, the leading young man saw a familiar face among the intruders, bound and unable to escape.
The leading young man then asked, "My little brother, look at what a disgrace you have become. Being captured by a bunch of nobodies—I am embarrassed just being related to garbage like you."
Han Chen, who was still bound and unable to escape, replied, "If you were in my situation with those weak guards I brought, you would have suffered the same fate, so don’t be so smug."
The leading young man replied, "I, Han Zhiheng, am not trash like you. Not long ago, I was found to have cultivation talent and was taken in by a Foundation Building realm expert to be his apprentice. I have since stepped into the first level of Qi Refining. I am far from trash like you who can’t even cultivate."
Han Chen was surprised to hear his brother had become a cultivator. The gap between the two would only widen from now on. Han Chen couldn’t even remotely compete to be the heir of the family now that his elder brother was a cultivator. Han Chen then became dejected, as he could say nothing in reply.
Han Zhiheng then looked at the intruders, Jiang Yun and Song Yurong, and said, "You two have some nerve daring to invade my family territory and kill my guards. Even so, you are beneath me coming over and killing you personally, but I will give you the honor of dying by a cultivator’s hands."
Han Zhiheng then gestured toward the Qi Refining cultivators who had come with him, and the weaker ones, who were in the first to third levels of Qi Refining, stepped forward to show off their power.
Soon, the cultivators surrounded Jiang Yun and Song Yurong, intending to make easy work out of the two, fully confident that they were capable of dealing with the intruders since there were only two of them.
