Chapter 859: Inherit
When others heard Jaing Yang’s response, they knew that there was no other choice but to fight these human-faced spiders. The survivors all looked at one another, but seeing that they had only one choice, they could only light a bunch of torches and face the things that were coming toward them. It was clear that Bai Meiyue was not going to help them; since that was the case, they might as well fight for their chance for survival.
"Let’s go!"

The small crowd of survivors screamed at the top of their lungs before charging at the monsters that were coming toward them.
Bai Meiyue looked at the crowd and didn’t know what to say. She turned to look at Xiao Wu and said to him, "Back those fools up or else they will end up dead." She was glad that these people were slowly learning to get up and fight back. But they were too rushed. Who asked them to fight a top contender from the start? What were they even thinking? Did they think that the human-faced spiders were something that they could take down with sheer willpower and courage?
Xiao Wu looked down at the people who were running toward the human-faced spiders and cursed under his breath. Nonetheless, he still aimed his bazooka at the human-faced spiders and made sure that these fools wouldn’t end up dying.
It took them a good three hours before they could clear up the human-faced spiders; by the time everything was over, the supernatural ability users were so tired that they were about to collapse at any second. No wonder these things were hard to deal with; though they were not strong, they were quite hard to deal with given that their speed was way too fast. Fortunately, they did not have to sacrifice anything and somehow managed to come out victorious in this fight.
Liu Che looked at the mess in front of him and frowned hard. "It was my lack of consideration."
"What?" Bai Meiyue turned to look at the man beside her. How did he come to this conclusion all of a sudden? What did he mean by saying that it was his fault?
"It was my fault; I should have worked hard and turned this mist even stronger." Liu Che looked disappointed in himself. If he had worked a bit harder, things would not have escalated to this point. If the mist was strong enough, then there was no way those people from Captain Xu’s team would have been able to trespass into their territory.
"This was no one’s fault.’ Bai Meiyue shook her head and refuted Liu Che’s self-blame. She raised her hand and patted Liu Che on the shoulder. She said to him, "This is not your fault. This has nothing to do with you, after all; who could have expected that such a thing would happen? If anything, it was my fault. I knew what kind of person Captain Xu was, but I still did not take care of that man. I should have killed that man right away."
A ruthless glint flashed in her eyes. If she had known that this man was such a troublesome person, then she would have killed him and his team right away. It seemed like her kindness toward Meng Anzhi because of Meng Suisui ended up causing trouble for herself. She pursed her lips and cursed herself for being a bit too soft-hearted. It was definitely her fault. Why did she allow herself to be swayed? Who cared about what happened to Meng Anzhi once she left the safe base? Even if her final escape route was cut off, it had nothing to do with her.
"Xiao Wu, tell the guards to keep an eye on Captain Xu. If he returns, then I want to see him dead. There is no need to consider that he was once a part of this safe base. A man like him, it is better for him to die and be gone from this world lest he cause more trouble for others." This time around, that man was quite lucky, and he managed to escape from her grasp, but the next time, she would make sure that he would never be able to get back on his feet.
"I got it; I will make sure that man will never be able to walk away if he comes back here!" Xiao Wu was also filled with a kind of rage when he thought about how that man had tried to kill all of them in a swoop. If they were not lucky enough, then they would have died tonight. That man was ruthless as hell!
"You are right; we need to kill that man. To think he actually caused such a mess... If our safe base did not have Meng Suisui and Liu Che, then we would have died tonight." Bai Jixuan would never forget the good deeds of those bastards. They were the ones who betrayed their safe base in the first place, and Bai Meiyue only gave them a taste of their own medicine. They had clearly stated that once those people left, they would never be able to return, and Captain Xu and the rest agreed to it.
How dare they cause a fuss for no reason? Did Captain Xu think that they were all soft persimmons that he could bully at will? If so, then Bai Jixuan was going to teach him a good lesson.
"Let’s head back." Bai Meiyue felt a bit tired after staying awake for so long. Because of the human-faced spiders, she had to stay awake for a good three extra hours, and her back was killing her. Even though there was nothing she could do for the people of the safe base in this situation, Bai Meiyue did not want to go back and sleep when the ability users under her were fighting.
Before, she was too nervous about the human-faced spiders entering the safe base and could not help but stand on her toes, but now that she had calmed down, she could feel exhaustion weighing down on her shoulders. Sighing while rubbing her shoulders, Bai Meiyue said to her brother, "We will take care of the corpses of these monsters in the morning."
