Similarly, some ranchers and farmers would introduce production-type Pokémon such as Miltank and Mareep onto their properties.

Instead, through an application process, they would obtain the right to care for the Pokémon from their original Trainers.
The Pokémon would receive proper care.
And the products they produced would belong to the ranch owner.
If the Pokémon laid Eggs, those Eggs would not need to be returned to the original Trainer, though they also could not be sold.
The ranch owner could hatch them personally or gift them to others.
All of the above procedures required regular inspections to ensure the entrusted Pokémon were not being abused.
"This kind of entrustment system is already the best possible option."
By comparison, directly trading Pokémon in reality felt a little too much like treating them as objects.
Even when watching the anime, Sora had always felt that casually exchanging Pokémon like that was somewhat strange.

But they had their own jobs and responsibilities.
Sora didn't want to trouble them any further.
Most importantly, there was the issue of land.
To keep Pokémon, one needed a sufficiently vast area.
Something like Professor Oak's backyard.
Unfortunately, Sora didn't have a professor backing him.
He could only rely on himself to find a place and build something up gradually.
His original plan had been to buy a ranch and farm somewhere and slowly develop it over time.
"What do you think about the Nebel Plateau?"
After hearing Sora's concerns, Kimia's eyes lit up immediately.
"I mean, why not establish a nature preserve directly on the Nebel Plateau?"
"Then you could serve as the person in charge of the reserve."
Sora was extremely powerful.
If possible, Kimia naturally hoped he would stay.
The Azoth Kingdom did not lack funding.
What they lacked was talent.
Excluding outside tourists and traveling Trainers, the only people in the entire kingdom truly capable of carrying major responsibilities were herself, Fleur-de-Lis, and the future Raleigh.
That level of manpower wasn't enough even for a single city, let alone an entire kingdom.
"A nature preserve…"
Sora seriously considered the suggestion.
Honestly, he was tempted.
A nature preserve meant an enormous stretch of wilderness land.
That was far better than merely owning a ranch or farm.
"Those Pokémon abandoned by Trainers…"
Kimia said:
"Although the royal family can help care for them, the royal gardens are too small, and I personally don't have the energy to look after all of them."

Sora hesitated.
"I don't have that kind of money."
"Money isn't a problem!"
At that moment, Kimia fully displayed the overwhelming confidence of a royal heir.

What was money?
The scientific projects she usually worked on often involved investments of millions upon millions, many of which ended up going nowhere anyway.
Now that she had an opportunity to help wild Pokémon and improve their lives, she couldn't ask for more.
"I actually already had plans like this."
"I intended to designate an area on the Nebel Plateau and build facilities there, turning it into a sanctuary for Pokémon who've suffered harm."
"It's only because we lacked a suitable manager that the project never began."
There were many challenges involved in this plan.
The biggest was safety.
How would so many Pokémon living together be cared for?
How would they prevent outside Trainers from secretly capturing them?
Kimia's strength was comparable to a Gym Leader's.
In the real Pokémon world, she was more than capable of guarding an entire region.
As for Fleur-de-Lis, she was slightly weaker than Kimia but still strong enough to oversee the preserve.
Unfortunately, as Kimia's chief aide, she had countless affairs in the Azoth capital to manage and simply couldn't spare the time.
If danger truly arose, the two women might not even arrive in time.
"If you leave some of your Pokémon inside the preserve,"
Kimia said,
"then with their strength, they should be more than capable of protecting the area."
Yes.
Kimia had her eyes on Sora's combat power.
Ogerpon and Volcanion aside—just Lilligant alone was terrifyingly strong.
Kimia had sparred with Sora before.
Without using Legendary Pokémon, Amaura and Buneary were basically there to make up the numbers.
Sylveon performed quite well.
Under Sora's command, she successfully defeated two of Kimia's Pokémon.
But Lilligant…
Near Level 70, Lilligant had practically crushed Kimia's entire team with overwhelming force.
Champion-tier.
Without question, Lilligant possessed strength comparable to a Champion-level Pokémon.
That alone proved Sora wasn't merely someone who relied on catching powerful Pokémon.
His ability to raise ordinary Pokémon was equally extraordinary.

If Sora could raise more Pokémon like Lilligant and allow them to live within the preserve, it would perfectly solve Kimia's current predicament.
"Can you let me think about it?"
"Of course!"
"Mm."
Sora didn't refuse outright.
He simply wanted to discuss it with his Pokémon first.
His household wasn't a dictatorship.
Sora had always respected the opinions of his Pokémon.
Thus, after returning to his room, Sora released everyone and began discussing the idea of developing the Nebel Plateau and establishing a home there.

Among everyone, Magearna was unquestionably the happiest about Sora settling down on the Nebel Plateau.

Joking aside, there were actually quite a few Pokémon who agreed with Magearna.
Or rather—almost all of them had no objections to the proposal.
