Chapter 80 80: Entrusting Pokémon, the Ralts Egg
Doka and Yisha wanted to resist, but all of their Pokémon had already been confiscated by Sora.
Before long, Sora had tied the two of them back up and brought them back.
"Geng…"
The Gengar rescued by Kimia trembled pitifully.
It was hard to associate this frightened, cowering fat ghost with the mischievous Gengar species people usually knew.
"This child must've suffered a lot under Jarvis…"
Kimia gently comforted Gengar, who shrank back timidly, looking utterly wronged.
"That Jarvis really deserves to die!"
Even gentle-tempered Kimia felt the urge to beat Jarvis senseless.
And in truth, she already had.
Jarvis truly lived up to being a "villain blessed by plot armor."
Even after the airship exploded and he fell from such a height, he somehow survived by crashing through branches and vines that cushioned the impact.
His absurd vitality was honestly astonishing.
"I'll handle him from here."
Dragging the bound trio behind her, Kimia's face darkened with anger.
Jarvis's face was swollen like a pig's head, showing just how furious the princess had been.
"I'll definitely give you a satisfactory result."
"Mm, then I'll leave it to you."
Sora despised people like Jarvis.
But since the man hadn't died in the explosion, Sora couldn't exactly keep attacking him.
So, at Kimia's invitation, Sora temporarily stayed in a castle prepared by the royal family.
Over the next three days, Kimia dispatched her trusted aide, Fleur-de-Lis.
Together with a search team, they thoroughly investigated Jarvis's laboratory and uncovered mountains of evidence.
Forbidden research.
Illegal trafficking.
As well as the conspiracy he had devised to overthrow the Azoth Kingdom.
According to Kimia's understanding of League law, someone like Jarvis would absolutely be locked away in prison for decades.
And that was assuming the Azoth Kingdom didn't interfere behind the scenes.
But was that even possible?
Given Kimia's hatred toward Jarvis, she would definitely pressure the League into keeping him imprisoned for life.
As for Kimia's younger brother, Prince Raleigh, learning the true face of his teacher left him questioning his entire life.
Fortunately, Raleigh had only been deceived by Jarvis.
At heart, the boy was still kind.
After recognizing his mistakes, Raleigh reflected deeply on himself, cast aside Jarvis's brainwashing education, and decided that after another year of study, he would leave as a traveling Trainer and begin his own journey.
Kimia strongly supported this idea and even specially selected a Fairy-type Pokémon raised by the royal family for him.
"There's no need, Sister."
Raleigh refused Kimia's offer.
"I already have a Swirlix who's been with me since childhood, and we're very close."
"We already promised each other that Swirlix would be my starter Pokémon."
The reason the boy could recover so quickly from Jarvis's shadow was because he genuinely loved Pokémon.
If Jarvis had merely coveted the Azoth Kingdom, Raleigh would've only considered him ambitious.
But the abuse and torture of Pokémon utterly disappointed him.
The boy simply could not accept hurting Pokémon.
They were not tools.
Nor mindless beasts.
They were partners.
Family.
"Is that so?"
Kimia was delighted by her brother's growth.
Especially his attitude toward Pokémon, which filled her with relief.
"Then why not entrust this Pokémon to Mr. Sora instead?"
Raleigh proposed the idea, but Kimia immediately shook her head.
"No."
"I already prepared a gift for him."
Handing Sora a Pokémon that Raleigh had rejected would be terribly rude.
There was no way Kimia would do something so disrespectful.
To thank Sora, the princess had specially prepared a gift just for him.
"This is…?"
Looking at the Pokémon Egg inside the incubator in Kimia's arms, Sora was surprised.
"The gift you mentioned… is this Pokémon Egg?"
Over the past two days, Sora and Kimia had chatted a great deal.
During the day, the princess handled the aftermath of Jarvis's crimes.
At night, she would visit Sora and exchange insights about Pokémon nurturing.
Well… most of the time, it was Sora listening while Kimia explained things.
Again, Sora was basically a complete beginner when it came to raising Pokémon properly.
He really didn't have much experience worth talking about.
But Kimia never looked down on him for it.
In her eyes, Sora's greatest treasure was the deep bond he shared with his Pokémon.
Knowledge could always be learned later.
But genuine emotional connection was irreplaceable.
"Want to guess what Pokémon is inside?"
Kimia revealed a sly smile.
Sora accepted the incubator and examined the Egg carefully.
Unfortunately, with his current level of knowledge, he couldn't tell anything at all.
At that moment, however, Sora noticed the Gardevoir standing beside Kimia.
"Don't tell me—?!"
Sora remembered Kimia asking him before what kind of Pokémon he liked.
"I like cute Pokémon."
"Things like Sylveon and Buneary, fluffy little ones like that."
Besides that, Sora had praised all sorts of qualities about Lilligant and even complimented Kimia's Gardevoir.
Well, he couldn't help it.
He'd always loved the Gardevoir line.
If given the chance, Sora absolutely wanted to catch a Ralts and personally raise her into an elegant Gardevoir.
"That's right. It's a Ralts."
Kimia said:
"This child is Gardevoir's younger sister and has the same parents as her."
Gardevoir was actually quite old already.
She had been Kimia's companion ever since the princess was six years old, following her from her days as a little Ralts.
But this Ralts would be much younger than Gardevoir.
As for when Pokémon would produce offspring, it was difficult to predict.
The Pokémon Kimia gave to her younger brother was an Eevee.
But the one she gave Sora… was a Ralts.
"Thank you very much."
Sora genuinely longed to raise a Ralts of his own.
"I'll take good care of her!"
Most importantly, there was no need to worry about the "male Gardevoir problem."
The Azoth Kingdom possessed specialized detection equipment.
Even while still inside the Egg, they had already obtained part of the child's biological data.
Sora's Ralts was unquestionably a cute little girl.
Perfectly aligned with his preferences.
And by the way, here's a little bit of Pokémon world trivia.
The Pokémon League prohibited the sale of Pokémon.
However, interestingly enough, the League did not forbid Trainers from exchanging or entrusting Pokémon to one another.
Like Kimia gifting Pokémon to Sora and Raleigh.
It was more like finding a new home for them.
