Chapter 79: Silence of the Archives
The Silver Archives existed outside the standard flow of time.
It was a pocket dimension designed purely for the preservation of heaven’s most ancient, foundational draft-laws. The architecture was dizzying—an infinite, cylindrical library of floating silver platforms connected by staircases of solid light. Millions of metallic scrolls hovered in the air, humming with the soft, melodic vibration of absolute celestial order.
At the center of the highest platform stood five High Magistrates.
They were Level 112 elites, clad in heavy, pristine white robes and glowing metal visors. They were currently locked in a desperate, synchronized chant, their celestial mana physically manifesting as a golden dome of recursive legal text that shielded the entire dimension. This was the Tier-1 Filibuster. As long as they kept speaking, the localized reality remained frozen, entirely impenetrable from the outside.
"Section Eight, Clause Nine!" the Lead Magistrate boomed, his voice echoing endlessly through the metallic library. "The localized reality must reject all foreign—"
He did not get to finish the sentence.
There was no explosion. There was no shattering of the golden dome. The conceptual firewall was designed to repel physical and magical attacks from the outside. It was completely blind to mathematical spatial deletion.
With a deafening, localized vacuum implosion, the Abyssal Void-Cruiser simply spawned directly inside the center of the library.
The sheer physical displacement of the Exalted-Tier ship materializing out of thin air generated a catastrophic sonic boom. The floating silver platforms violently violently buckled. Millions of metallic scrolls were aggressively blown away like autumn leaves in a hurricane.
The five High Magistrates were thrown off their feet, their synchronized chant forcefully broken. The golden dome of the Filibuster flickered and instantly died.
"What... how?!" the Lead Magistrate gasped, scrambling to his knees. His glowing visor flickered frantically as he stared up at the massive, shifting black geometry of the corrupted monolith now occupying his sacred library. "The barrier was absolute! No force could penetrate the legal perimeter!"
The loading ramp of the Void-Cruiser hissed open, releasing a thick, suffocating cloud of radioactive violet smog into the pristine holy air.
"We didn’t penetrate your perimeter," a heavy, multi-tonal voice rumbled from the shadows of the ship. "We just recalculated our existence to be standing behind it."
Kaelen descended the ramp.
The Abyssal Emperor didn’t wear armor, only his dark tunic and heavy Void-Steel boots, yet the sheer, intoxicating gravity of his Level 105 Primordial Sovereign core hit the platform like a physical meteor. The white marble instantly began to rot into hyper-dense obsidian beneath his feet.
Behind him walked Ariel and Elara, followed by the terrifying, hulking silhouette of the Eclipse Vanguard.
Seraphina cracked her neck, her Eclipse Breaker igniting with a roaring, catastrophic black flame. Behind her, a cohort of five hundred elite Void-iron Brutes marched down the ramp in terrifying, rhythmic unison, their Apathy Cloaks aggressively swallowing the ambient light of the Archives.
"Heretic!" the Lead Magistrate screamed, his panic entirely overriding his logic. He raised a glowing silver scroll. "Writ of Banishment!"
A blinding beam of pure, conceptual law shot from the scroll, aimed directly at Kaelen’s chest. It was designed to forcefully eject a soul from the dimension.
He didn’t even blink.
She moved faster than the localized physics engine could process. The Demigoddess blurred into existence directly in front of her Emperor. She didn’t block the beam with her sword; she simply backhanded it with her heavy, dragon-glass gauntlet.
The entropy of her Ascendant core aggressively violently shattered the spell, reducing the holy law to harmless, sparkling dust.
"You are trying to evict the landlord," she hissed, a deeply manic, bloodthirsty smile stretching across her face. "How profoundly stupid."
"Slaughter them," he commanded smoothly, casually clasping his hands behind his back. "But leave the scrolls intact. Elara needs the data."
"With absolute pleasure, my Sovereign!" Seraphina roared.
The combat was not a battle; it was a localized extinction event.
The Eclipse Vanguard launched herself at the High Magistrates. The angels frantically attempted to cast localized edicts of binding and penance, but their magic was entirely useless against a physical force that refused to acknowledge their rules. Seraphina swung her massive greatsword in a devastating horizontal arc. The hyper-dense void-diamond edge effortlessly sheared through three of the Magistrates at once, severing their torsos from their legs in a spray of golden plasma.
[Hostile Entities Defeated: High Magistrate (Level 112) x 3.]
The remaining two Magistrates tried to fly, unfurling their starlight-woven wings to escape into the upper tiers of the infinite library.
The five hundred Void-iron Brutes raised their arms in flawless unison. They didn’t have wings, but they had Elara’s alchemical upgrades. From their heavy wrist-gauntlets, they fired hyper-condensed harpoons of black iron.
The chains shot through the air, violently piercing the wings of the fleeing angels. With a synchronized, mechanical heave, the Brutes violently yanked the Magistrates out of the sky, slamming them brutally onto the rotting obsidian floor.
Seraphina walked over to the struggling, bleeding angels. She didn’t offer a monologue. She simply raised her heavy boot and brought it down in a sickening, crushing stomp, effortlessly collapsing their divine cores.
The Silver Archives fell silent. The entire encounter had lasted less than thirty seconds.
"Such a waste of good architecture," Ariel noted, looking around at the shattered silver platforms. The Abyssal Valkyrie’s corrupted blue eyes scanned the millions of hovering metallic scrolls. "The bureaucratic foundation of the Sphere is now entirely ours, Master. There is no one left to challenge Cassius’s new laws."
He ignored the golden blood staining the floor. He turned his attention to Elara, who was already sprinting toward the center of the room, her alchemical brands flaring with radioactive heat.
"Report, Elara," he ordered.
"Oh, it’s a goldmine, Master!" Elara shrieked, plunging her bare hands directly into a massive, floating silver terminal. Her churning emerald eyes rapidly downloaded the celestial data. "These aren’t just penal codes! These are the foundational blueprints for how the Goddess structures a reality! I can see the localized formulas for divine gravity, ambient mana generation, and spatial folding!"
Elara giggled maniacally, her black fire actively corrupting the silver terminal, turning the glowing white data streams into a violent, pulsing violet.
"If I feed this data into the Abyssal Labyrinth’s core, I won’t just be able to forge weapons, Emperor. I can forge rules! I can permanently rewrite the physics of any territory we conquer to passively poison celestial entities!"
"Do it," he commanded, a dark, deeply vindictive expression dominating his features. "Digest the entire library. I want this pocket dimension completely drained by the hour."
He walked to the edge of the platform, looking out over the infinite expanse of the Silver Archives.
The first phase of the war was officially, unequivocally over. The Sphere of Judgment had not just been conquered; it had been fundamentally assimilated. The High Arbiter was a chained scribe, the Inquisitors were sparring dummies in a gladiator pit, and the very laws of the dimension were being actively rewritten to serve the Abyss.
He raised his right hand, tapping into the Abyssal Trinity link to broadcast his voice to his entire Harem, including Lyriel who was still hiding out in the gray static of the Fold.
"Vanguard. Valkyrie. Forge-Master. Stalker," his voice vibrated with heavy, lethal intent. "The Judiciary is broken. The anvil is forged. Prepare the Void-Cruiser and rally the Brutes."
His pitch-black eyes turned upward, piercing through the illusion of the library’s ceiling, looking toward the distant, uncharted coordinates Elara had extracted from the crystal ship.
"We are done playing with lawyers," the Emperor declared, his ambition flaring with intoxicating, world-ending gravity. "Set a course for the Sphere of Knowledge. It is time to burn their history."
[System Notification: Arc Milestone Reached.]
[The Sphere of Judgment is now Floor 20 of the Abyssal Labyrinth.]
[Prepare for inter-dimensional transit.]
