Rejected By Her Family, Claimed By The Masked CEO

Chapter 49: Lost to another person

Oliver smirked and moved closer to Susan. He scoffed lightly. "Let me guess..." he said with a big smile. "That idiot is back, huh?"

Susan clenched her fists tightly. "I..." she paused nervously, not knowing what to say.

"You what?" Oliver bent over and asked sarcastically, his face very close to hers.

Susan gritted her teeth and moved back with fear. She wondered how these powerful men could ever fall in love. Would they ever have a girlfriend they would treat like a princess? Archie would not allow anyone to interrupt him. But Oliver might let you speak, yet the pressure would be too much for the person to continue. These men were just too terrifying and mysterious.

Gathering all her courage, Susan smiled and looked up at his handsome face. Oliver’s beauty was top-notch too. She found him cute in a dangerous way half cat, half tiger, and half dragon. His sharp tongue could make someone lose her mind. In fact, she would be very satisfied if she could have Oliver, the number three on the list.

Seeing Oliver smirk again, Aarti sighed nervously. She wished Susan could snap out of whatever she was imagining, apologize, and run away. These men might be good-looking, but their flowers were very poisonous. Aarti could tell Oliver was up to something. She did not even know how to describe it.

Oliver stood straight and adjusted his tie. He looked at his men, and they gave him an okay sign. Oliver nodded and turned back to Susan. "What did you say earlier?" he asked. "Why would you kill your fellow woman? Losing to someone doesn’t mean it is the end of the world."

That was when Susan realized Oliver was also on Abigail’s side. Oliver too? She felt jealous, surprised, and angry at the same time. Things would be very complicated if Abigail managed to reach Henry — Draco himself!

Susan sighed and was about to play the touched card when Oliver suddenly grabbed her by the neck. It surprised her a lot. Other men would not want to hurt a lady or would pardon them, but how come this man did not care?

"Oliver... you are choking me..." she tried to speak, her voice weak.

Oliver raised an eyebrow. "Really?" he asked. Then he told her, "That is how you are to Abigail. You are such a pain in the ass." He warned her seriously, "If anything happens to Abigail, I will come after you."

Susan was shocked. He cared for Abigail this much? Before she knew it, she was yanked down harshly, and her head hit the tire of her car.

"Boss!!" Aarti watched in horror. She used to hear his name, but she never knew he was this heartless. He joked a lot on social media. She looked at Susan with surprise.

Oliver dusted his suit and left without another word. Susan watched him walk away and wept quietly. That was one thing she loved about the man — the way he walked with so much confidence. Why Abigail? Why was she always so lucky?

Aarti helped Susan up carefully. "Boss, are you okay?" she asked softly. "We should go home now. This is getting too dangerous."

Susan pushed her away weakly. "Leave me alone," she said, still crying. "Why does everyone protect her? First Archie, now Oliver. What does she have that I don’t?"

Aarti stayed quiet. She knew better than to answer when Susan was like this. She helped her into the car and started driving. Susan kept muttering to herself the whole way. "I will not give up. Abigail will pay one day. I am the heir of the Benjamins family. I deserve better."

....

Miranda was about to walk into Lucina’s Hotel garage when she saw Archie coming out from his car. She frowned, wondering when he had come back. She decided not to care and continued toward the private door. Then she heard his voice from behind.

"You know... this is one of the reasons why I don’t like you," Archie said.

Shocked, Miranda turned around and looked at him. He had already seen her. He stood there, resting his back against his car as he watched her tiredly. "You know she would be looking for you, right?" he added.

Miranda scoffed and turned away. "I don’t like you either!" She glanced at her phone and sighed. There were almost twenty missed calls from Abigail. "She shouldn’t have," she muttered, then turned back. "And stop stalking me for her! I don’t know when you became her errand boy."

Archie chuckled. "Stalk you?" He sighed. "Don’t be too full of yourself. This is my hotel. May I know why and who you secretly want to meet?"

Miranda felt pain in her chest. It meant she was not worthy of him. She gritted her teeth and turned around. "I don’t have to tell you. We don’t even like each other from the beginning" She said. But the fact that he think she’s up to something no good breaks her more."

Archie looked at her in amusement. "The most dangerous thing in the world is love," he said.

This statement shocked her so much. Was that why he was so suspicious of her? Maybe she was just overthinking? She blinked and asked him, "What do you mean?"

Archie nodded. "You don’t even have good eyes. You know that idiot’s good looks may attract you. But can you deal with him when he’s angry?" He raised an eyebrow.

Miranda clenched her fists. "You... you... how do you know?"

Archie rolled his eyes. "Not hard to tell. You are making it obvious. Like I said, love is the most dangerous thing in the world. Once you let it consume your heart, your eyes, and the worst — your brain... it will become too difficult. The only thing you must do in this state is not to lose the person to another person... because..." He shook his head.

Tears filled Miranda’s eyes. She couldn’t bear to lose him to another person, even tho she knew the possibility is very high. But she suddenly smirked. "What about you?" she chuckled.

Archie checked his wristwatch and stood straight. "Focus on not destroying everything for what you want. You know him very well. He’s good at hating people." Then he turned to leave.

"I mean... you already lost to another person," Miranda said.
