My Overpowered Demon System

Chapter 120: Nigura

The vast land began to clear beneath them.

The place was a true mega city.

Buildings of various shapes and sizes spread out.

Some buildings were so tall that even Azrael and Zephyr, who were flying, failed to see their tops.

The entire place looked like it had been brought straight out of a sci-fi movie.

Before either of them could voice their thoughts, gravity intensified.

Azrael raised a brow, but everything seemed to happen in a blur.

The next thing he felt was his body crashing hard into the floor.

"Flight is not allowed within the perimeters of Nigura," the voice said in his mind.

Azrael shook his head as he looked around.

"And there was no better way to say that?" he muttered, turning to Zephyr, who carried a neutral expression.

Azrael turned forward again.

’That person is at least tier 15,’ he mused, sucking in a cold breath.

In other races, a tier 15 being was enough to claim lordship.

But in the demon race, they served as gatekeepers.

"So we have to complete the remaining journey on foot," Zephyr said, breaking his train of thought.

"Apparently," Azrael said with a sigh.

Although they had been able to see Nigura from the sky, that was only due to their position.

In reality, they were still over a hundred kilometers away from the city.

"Or we could do this," Azrael said, raising one finger with a smile.

At the same time, beneath him, a golden coin began to expand until it was large enough to carry him.

"Try to keep up," Azrael said, flashing a smile at Zephyr before shooting forward.

Zephyr smiled in response, his body seeming to glitch out of reality as he blurred forward.

With a single step, he caught up to Azrael.

Azrael looked at his side.

"I know I can’t win in a straight fight, but when it comes to speed, I think you are a little lacking," Zephyr said before his body blurred past Azrael.

Azrael looked at the trails left behind by Zephyr.

He shrugged casually before flooding the coin with essence.

[Don’t.]

Aria warned before Azrael could pour more essence.

"Why?" Azrael asked with raised brows.

[It’s been three hours since you used the pill.]

Azrael sighed.

"So I am just going to lose to him."

As he spoke, a pill appeared in his hand. He dropped it into his mouth and swallowed it without a shred of hesitation.

Looking forward at the huge line that traced along the path Zephyr had passed, Azrael shook his head.

Although he had spent less than two seconds using the pill, he knew that was enough time for Zephyr to cross the entire hundred kilometers.

Moving at his own pace, Azrael reached the outskirts of the city within ten seconds.

Zephyr was waiting there, his leg kicking the dirt as he stared toward the city.

"Took you long enough," Zephyr said as he felt Azrael’s presence beside him.

"Coming from someone who was just about to die," Azrael said with muffled laughter.

Zephyr did not reply to his taunt.

They moved the remaining distance toward the walls.

Within the walls was a large double door that towered over 20 feet high.

Guarding the walls were two knights clad in crimson armor.

Sheathed beside them were crimson swords that gleamed with subtlety.

They exuded an unmistakable aura of tier 8.

Even the air around them seemed to vibrate from their mere existence.

’Seems like they just broke through and are yet to stabilize their power,’ Azrael mused.

"Your pass," the guard on the right said, his tone cold and aloof.

A frown appeared on their faces.

What did he mean by pass?

The guards creased their foreheads as they looked at the duo.

"You cannot enter without your pass," the one on the left finally said.

Azrael turned to Zephyr.

"What do we do now?" he asked.

"What do you mean by that? We are descendants of the Malvorin clan. Why do we need a pass when we have the clan’s token?" As he spoke, something appeared in his hand.

It was a crimson plaque that had the inscription of two swords crossed over it, with a blood-like color over the swords.

Azrael stared at the token for a while.

"Why are you looking at it?" Zephyr asked. "Is it because it is lower grade than your own direct token?"

Azrael shook his head in response.

In reality, he had never known the use of this thing. He had only seen it on a table in his room after he reincarnated.

It had never moved from there since then.

’Well, I need to keep it in my spatial ring once I get back.’

While this was going on, the guards were looking at the token in Zephyr’s hand.

Even without being told, their bodies had begun to shake involuntarily.

They had just stopped someone from the Malvorin clan from entering the city.

In every sense, there was only one way forward for them.

Death.

"Is this enough of a pass to enter?" Zephyr asked with a smile.

"Sorry for the trouble, sir," both guards said at the same time, bowing their heads over and over.

Zephyr raised an eyebrow.

"I will call the Governor now," the guard on the right said, about to run back into the gate.

"No, don’t worry," Zephyr said while scratching his hair in embarrassment. "I don’t want to draw too much attention."

"Huh?" The word fell from the guard’s mouth before he knew he had said it.

"Keep it a secret," Zephyr said, tapping the guard on the shoulder as he walked through the gate.

A subtle smile played on Azrael’s lips as he walked through the gate.

The guards remained rooted in place.

Thinking back to how they had stopped Azrael and Zephyr, they could not help but sigh.

Their lives had flashed before their eyes at that moment.

"Thank goodness we did not meet one of the crazy people of that clan," the guard on the left said after a while.
