My Overpowered Demon System

Chapter 92: Moving On

Azrael heaved as he stared at the giant ape in front of him.

The ape was snow white.

Two extra arms protruded from either side of its body.

The upper left held a sleek black greatsword with a blade wide enough to be used as a bed.

The lower left held a large round golden shield that glistened under the sunlight of the Chaos Realm.

The upper right held a hammer with a brown head that threatened to break through anything it came into contact with.

The lower right held a double sided axe.

"Hey, Rion, you have gotten really strong," Azrael said, his chest still rising and falling.

"But you are stronger than him, Master," the voice echoed near his ear, tiny, smooth, and utterly mesmerizing.

The source of the words was a tiny creature floating close to him.

She had four wings spread out from behind her. Her ears were pointed at their tips, with long wavy green hair that reached her waist.

"Livia, you do not have to always do that to Rion," Azrael said with a sigh, as though he had said those exact words countless times before.

This was his essence sprite, the one he had created two years ago when he was learning the Contract Domain type.

Yes. Two years ago.

’Analysis,’ Azrael muttered, activating one of the racial traits he had purchased from the system.

[Name: Rion]

[Race: Dimensional Beast (Enhanced by the blood of a Primordial being)]

[Skills:

Dimensional Prison: Isolate every part of the body, making movement, regeneration, or transformation impossible.

Dimensional Door: Create portals anywhere within your sight without consuming essence.

Dimensional Travel: Teleport to anywhere you have previously been. Essence cost scales with distance.

Dimensional Anchor: Create anchors in dimensions where you have mastered the frequency. Can teleport to anchored dimensions without spatial barriers or essence cost.

Overlay: Temporarily merge an anchored dimension with your current location.]

Azrael stared at the skills.

Although they looked simple on paper, as someone who had fought alongside Rion multiple times, he knew better than to underestimate them.

Just then, a voice came from the sky.

"That’s another token," Jasmine said, letting it drop.

Azrael caught the wooden crest.

It was nothing special, just a normal piece of wood he had hidden somewhere and asked a bored overpowered being to search for.

"The restriction on your strength should be lifted now, right?" Azrael asked with a smile as Jasmine descended in front of him.

She nodded.

"Which game next?" Jasmine asked, smiling in expectation of whatever Azrael was going to come up with.

After she had exhausted everything she could teach Azrael roughly a year ago, she had devoted herself entirely to games while he focused on his combat skills alone.

"I am sorry, Aunt Jasmine, but I am leaving today. I need to prepare."

Jasmine pouted at his words.

"You will come back later, right?" She asked, kicking her feet slowly.

Azrael smiled as he watched her.

Who would have believed that the same Jasmine who was always thinking of new ways to kill him had become this gentle.

"I will."

Rion burst into fragments of essence that drifted into Azrael’s core on command.

"One final game though," Azrael said with a smile.

"Restrict yourself to tier six."

Jasmine did not hesitate.

"First to reach the house."

As Azrael yelled those words, he lunged, his body moving in a streak of golden light.

Livia grabbed his hair so she would not be blown away by the wind current.

Although Azrael had started before her, Jasmine caught up within five seconds.

"Really? You could not come up with anything more challenging," she said, looking at him with mild amusement.

Azrael sighed.

Before he knew it, Jasmine had passed him.

Within moments, all he could see was her fading figure.

Azrael came to a halt as he reached the house.

"Finally, you are here," Jasmine groaned from where she sat, a wine glass already in her hand.

[Just accept it. You are never going to surpass this woman’s speed if you are competing at the same grade,] the system said in his mind.

Azrael could only nod.

’I am done trying.’

That moment made him remember when he found out Jasmine was somehow able to read his mind despite Stable Mind being active.

"Do you have a skill that bypasses other skills?" Azrael did not realize when he blurted those words out.

Jasmine looked at him, surprise flashing briefly in her eyes.

"Do you think I cheated?" She asked with a raised brow, setting her wine down on the table.

"No, no," Azrael said quickly, waving both hands. "I am not talking about the race."

"Then what do you mean?" She asked, picking the wine back up.

"That time when you knew what I was thinking even though I have a skill that prevents mind reading."

A gentle smile played on her lips.

For the next ten seconds she said nothing.

But the smile stayed through all of it.

It looked as though she was holding herself back from laughing.

Azrael furrowed his brows, confused by the silence.

Then she spoke.

"I cannot read your mind, you dummy." The laughter she had been containing finally broke loose.

"I knew that because of the way you were staring at the wine. Anyone with any sense could have worked that out."

Blood almost sprayed from Azrael’s nose at her words.

She was calling him stupid, and doing it with complete nonchalance.

"Do not tell me you have been restricting your own thoughts since then."

Azrael scratched his head in embarrassment.

Another burst of laughter came from Jasmine.

"Well, you did well." She paused. "From this moment on, let your thoughts run free."

Azrael shook his head slowly.

"I will go in to get my things now."

He walked into the house still shaking his head at how thoroughly he had tricked himself.

’I thought you were meant to be smart, system,’ Azrael said internally.

No response.

He repeated it. Still nothing.

He looked through the living room briefly.

No one there.

He shrugged and kept walking to his room.

’I really want to buy a trait potion,’ Azrael mused, stroking his chin. ’I do not know which one to get though.’

[Do you need one for combat?] The system asked quickly.

’I thought you had died,’ Azrael said with raised brows.

[Why do you wish me dead?]

’I am not. Your silence just made me wonder.’

The system replied with a middle finger emoji.

"Vynn," Azrael said as he scanned the room.

"Yes?" The house responded immediately.

"Gather all my things on this bed," Azrael said.

The more time he had spent with the house, the more he wanted something like it.

There was never a need to do anything yourself. Just tell it and it was handled.

Sure enough, within a breath, all his clothes and shoes appeared on the bed, neatly folded and arranged.

"Thanks," Azrael said.

His ring absorbed everything into its endless space.

"Master Azrael," the voice came from his doorway, slow and gentle.

Azrael turned.

Standing there was Clara.

His maid. The one he had not seen in two years.

He had not made any contact with her until yesterday, when he had told the house to notify her they were leaving today.

"How are you doing?" He asked with a smile.

"I am well, my Lord," Clara replied with a curtsy.

Azrael nodded, walking out of the room.

"You have improved a lot."

He passed her as he said those words.

"Yes, my Lord. And it is all thanks to you for giving me such a long break."

Azrael shrugged her gratitude off.

From his head, Livia turned and stuck her tongue out at Clara.

Clara could not help but smile at the sprite’s behavior.

"Azrael, are you going home?" Daisy asked, her eyes slightly red.

Azrael nodded.

He knelt down to her level.

"Don’t worry, I will be back soon," he said.

Daisy had grown considerably over the two years.

Appearance wise, she was probably the one with the most visible changes.

Azrael patted her head anyway, unbothered by how much taller she had gotten.

"You will also be coming to the main estate in a year for your awakening. We might see each other there."

She nodded slowly, wiping her tears.

"Oh, and here," Azrael said, holding out a necklace.

Daisy’s eyes lit up as she looked at it.

"Let me help you put it on," Azrael said.

"There. Perfect."

Daisy’s hand moved to the necklace slowly, her fingers tracing it before she smiled.

"Thank you."

Azrael nodded.

Jasmine walked in at that exact moment.

"Here," she said, handing him two things.

The first was a kind of key.

"You can use this to enter the Chaos Realm at any time. You only need to be within the clan’s main estate for it to work."

She looked at the other one, something resembling a ticket.

"A one time summoning token. Use it when you are in genuine trouble."

Azrael collected both, his pupils widening at their worth.

According to what he knew, very few people in the clan held this key.

All of them were known. Just the council members and Dante.

Everyone else had to go through one of them if they wanted to reach Jasmine.

And now he had become one of the rare key holders.

The second gift was probably the more valuable of the two. A card to summon Jasmine herself into a battle.

That was beyond a gift.

It was a second life.

Even if he were facing a being that could seal him within a breath, one use of that card and Jasmine would arrive.

"I wonder if there is anywhere I cannot go with something like this," Azrael said.

"Sincerely, with that card, you could walk onto the angel race’s home planet and come out unscathed."

She said it so calmly that anyone overhearing would have called it a bluff.

But Azrael had witnessed this woman’s abilities firsthand.

Even without knowing the full strength of the angel race, he had no doubt Jasmine could enter their territory to retrieve whoever she wanted before they could stop her.

He tossed the card into his spatial ring but kept the key in his hand for now.

"Thank you," he said with a bow.

"Ehh," Jasmine said, eyes wide with mild shock and a smile. "When did you become so respectful?"

Azrael waved it off.

"See you soon."

As he said those words, he tucked the key into the void of space.

A ripple swept through the air, followed by a creak, and a door-like passage appeared in the space before them.

"Bye bye," Jasmine waved as Azrael and Clara stepped through.

The space sealed itself quickly and Jasmine was left alone.

"This place is going to be empty for a while," she said softly, patting her chest once before walking into her room.

Azrael and Clara stepped into the empty compound of the Malvorin estate.

"I hate to say this after just leaving, but the air here is so much better," Azrael groaned, drawing a long breath.
