My Overpowered Demon System

Chapter 91: PRIMORDIAL WANT

Azrael heaved.

His body returned to normal within a breath.

But he was not noticing any of this.

His eyes were wide open, staring at the screen flaring in front of him.

[Congratulations, you have awakened the Progenitor Demon Bloodline.]

[You have awakened a fragment of the Original Sin.]

[Origin: Primordial Want]

[Devour Want: Consume a dead being’s want as essence. Essence gained is proportional to the being’s wants during their lifetime.]

[Want Essence: A special essence used to activate want abilities. Passively refills itself from nearby desire.]

[Sovereign of All Sins:

Ability 1: Passive pressure on all demon race. Weight of pressure depends on rank difference.

Ability 2: Locked

Ability 3: Locked]

[Ability 1: Want Manifestation: Can materialise what others desire or fear most, temporarily. Want essence cost scales with the level of the target’s desire.]

[Ability 2: Locked]

[Ability 3: Locked]

[Ability 4: Locked]

[Ability 5: Locked]

[N.B: A dead being’s wants fade over time.]

Azrael stared at the screen, his pupils dilating at what had unfurled before his eyes.

’At this point, am I not too overpowered?’ He muttered, shaking his head at the absurdity.

[It is all thanks to me, your Ultimate Demon System,] The system said in his mind.

Accompanying the text was a raised head emoji.

Azrael just scoffed.

But even he knew, if it were not for the system, he would never have even set a foot into the extraordinary. Talkless of achieving all of this.

And the curse would still be stuck to him.

Just then, he felt a sudden shift in space.

The air seemed to distort from it.

He raised his head to look at whoever had entered.

What he expected was Jasmine, his grand aunt and teacher.

Or maybe Clara, who had somehow kept herself hidden from the world.

And in the slightest chance, Daisy.

But no.

"Mom?" Azrael stuttered.

Before the word could come out fully, he felt an arm wrap around his neck, the other patting him softly on the back.

Lilura smiled as she touched her son’s skin again.

Azrael’s body eased slightly.

"Why are you here?" He asked as Lilura let him go.

"Jasmine called," Lilura replied directly.

Standing just behind her was Abaddon.

He did not utter a word.

His eyes moved from Azrael’s head to his toes.

"What happened? Why have you changed so much?" Lilura asked, stroking Azrael’s head gently as though it were the most treasured thing in existence.

"The Infernal grade skill fruit I ate was a transformation type skill," Azrael replied.

His words came out slowly.

He was still surprised that both of them, even with how busy they always were, had made time to come after Jasmine called.

’Maybe I should avoid doing things like this in visible space,’ he mused.

"What is your bloodline?" Abaddon finally asked, no longer able to hold back.

Although it was barely affecting him. In fact, it could not make a single hair stand.

It was still something.

After all, it was coming from someone who was only at tier three.

Azrael furrowed his brows.

"Something called Primordial Want," Azrael replied.

"Okay," Abaddon said.

He had heard Azrael perfectly, but still chose not to believe it, preferring to brush it aside.

At the same time, he sent a message to someone far from the training ground.

In a space where the only things remaining were scorched earth, vacuums, and cracks in space, two people stared at each other with smiles.

Even as everything beneath them had been reduced to ash and dust, neither broke their expression.

They were barely sweating, neither were they heaving.

It was as though everything they had done could not even qualify as a warm up.

"Okay, let’s go at it for real now."

As Jasmine spoke, she lunged.

Dante sidestepped.

The force from Jasmine’s slash rippled outward, cleaving through the earth beneath them.

A deep ravine tore into the ground, stretching for over a thousand miles.

Both of them stopped at the same time.

"Seems like I have to go," Dante said with a shrug.

"Party pooper," Jasmine said with a pout, returning her sword to her ring.

Dante smiled before vanishing from that position.

Jasmine looked around before disappearing.

A sigh of relief seemed to come from the environment of the Chaos Realm, which had not dared to breathe or change while those two were present.

From pure grassland, the space switched to a void.

In the underground training room, the tension was heavy.

"I need you to check this boy with your skill," Abaddon said to Dante.

Dante smiled then looked at Azrael, who still sat cross legged on the floor.

Everything had completely spiralled into chaos.

"This might hurt a little," Dante said with a crooked smile.

He flexed his fingers as he advanced toward Azrael.

[The good news is that the pain neutralizer is still in effect.]

That was the last thing Azrael heard before his vision blurred.

Dante’s palm rested on Azrael’s head, sending him unconscious before he could register it.

But the unconsciousness did not last long.

Less than three seconds after he fainted, Azrael regained consciousness.

But this time around, it was not Abaddon who was shocked.

It was Dante.

His eyes widened as he looked at Azrael.

Noticing the brief flash of shock, Abaddon raised a brow.

"What is his bloodline?" He asked.

"Huh?" Dante said, as if Abaddon’s words had just pulled him from a long thought.

"Azrael’s bloodline, what is it?" Abaddon asked again.

Jasmine stood with raised brows, wondering why Abaddon was suddenly asking this.

Lilura on the other hand was lost within her own thoughts.

"Oh, that," Dante said with a smile. "It is Primordial Want."

The way he said it made it sound as though it were nothing special.

At least, compared to what he had just learned about Azrael.

Looking at him, Dante shook his head slowly before leaning closer.

"I know you are not Azrael."

Like countless hammers had descended over his head at once, Azrael felt something hit him.

Not pain in the literal sense.

What he felt was fear, or maybe confusion, or curiosity.

But everything boiled down to one thing.

How Dante had found out his secret.
