DMS Chapter 170

DMS Chapter 170

Flinx appreciated how magical the surroundings looked during the night, covered in the silver glow of the moonlight. He wasn’t worried about suddenly being attacked while walking along the lonely road. Pip was there to warn him if any dangerous creature approached.

He smiled at his own dramatic thoughts. The road was only lonely because it was the early hours of the morning.

Soon, he began to feel tired, so Flinx decided to rest. He cast his wizard spell, Galder’s Tower, while keeping in mind the recently designed tower he had created: a one-story log cabin containing a bed, a fireplace, a dining table, a kitchen, and a bathroom with a shower.

Looking at the conjured log cabin that appeared beside the road, Flinx thought it looked completely ordinary. He intentionally made it appear mundane so that passing travelers wouldn’t stop and stare while he rested inside.

He also made sure to place it far enough away from the road so that travelers wouldn’t be disturbed while passing by.

When he checked the time, it was already three in the morning. Flinx didn’t care too much since he had no schedule to follow.

He ate a light dinner and took a shower before going to sleep. Flinx had already decided that during his journey, he wouldn’t bother with troublesome things like cooking. He would simply purchase everything he needed from his system’s shopping site.

During his dungeon delving to reach a total of twenty levels so he could return his friends to Earth, he had managed to collect a large number of mana stones.

The next time he woke up, Flinx saw that it was already noon.

After taking care of his bodily needs, he went outside and was surprised to see several people who looked like farmers gathered nearby. Some of them even had carts and animals parked beside them.

When they saw Flinx leaving the log cabin, they greeted him after noticing the Adventurer Guild card he wore as a medallion on his chest.

“Sir Adventurer, is this your cabin? We were curious because all of us here are farmers who live nearby, and we know every inch of this road. We were surprised when this beautiful house suddenly appeared here,” one of the farmers said.

“Yes. Even though it looks like a regular log cabin, it’s far too perfect to be an ordinary house,” another farmer commented.

“It looks like one of those toy houses commissioned by nobles,” another added.

“Did my house disturb you? It’s a magical traveling house that I carry with me during my travels,” Flinx explained.

Flinx then dispelled his one-story Galder’s Tower, causing the farmers to shout in surprise as the log cabin suddenly disappeared.

“Oh, sorry about that. I should have warned you. I just stored my house inside my storage item,” Flinx told them.

“A pity. We would have liked to examine that log cabin more closely. All of us here built our farmhouses with our own hands, and we have experience building houses. When we saw your cabin, we wanted to study its design and see if we could copy it. However, we didn’t approach it because we knew someone was inside. The light coming from the window told us that. We were just too cautious to approach a magical house that suddenly appeared beside the road,” one of the farmers explained.

“My name is Flinx, and I’m a wizard adventurer currently based in Ilioven. If you want to examine my house, I can summon it again,” Flinx said.

He then cast Galder’s Tower once more, allowing the five farmers to inspect it.

The farmers introduced themselves and told Flinx that if he ever found himself near their farms, he shouldn’t hesitate to visit them, whether he needed a place to rest or some food.

Flinx felt that being friendly with the local farmers would benefit him. He already had a good impression of the farmers in this area, perhaps because his first experience with a farming family—Aman and his family—had been pleasant.

Once the log cabin appeared again, Flinx gave the five farmers, who had been waiting near his cabin for hours, a tour.

They were all amazed by the magical features of the cabin. They were impressed by the light source that could be dimmed or turned off through a command, the fireplace that could be controlled with a switch or command, the kitchen and bathroom that provided both hot and cold water, the stove that produced fire instantly, and the comfortable temperature that remained constant inside.

After showing them around, Flinx allowed the farmers to examine every part of the cabin freely.

Several minutes later, the farmers concluded that the log cabin wasn’t actually made of logs or wood. Instead, it was made of stone that had only been designed to look like wood.

Even so, they appreciated the wonder of a magical house that could be stored away when unnecessary and summoned whenever a traveler needed a place to rest.

They talked about how convenient such a house would be when a storm suddenly appeared during a journey.

One of the farmers asked if such a house could be purchased.

Flinx explained that the house was something ordinary people couldn’t use. Only wizards could utilize such magic.

The farmers could only sigh in disappointment after hearing that.

After that, the farmers said goodbye to Flinx and thanked him for allowing them to see his magical house.

Once they left, Flinx dispelled his tower and continued his journey.

For a brief moment, he considered using his vehicle to travel along the road, but seeing the beautiful weather, he decided to keep walking.

Flinx knew that sooner or later, he would be forced to use his car, especially if bad weather arrived. However, for now, he wanted to appreciate the kindness of the weather and continue traveling on foot while enjoying the scenery.

Flinx continued walking leisurely, frequently stopping to observe unique things, such as flowers and plants, or admire beautiful sights like a nearby crystal-clear stream.

Pip flew around him, making sure Flinx wouldn’t be surprised by any hostile creatures.

Not that he expected anything dangerous to appear. He was still close to Ilioven, and the area was filled with farms and farmhouses. He had also seen several groups of soldiers wearing Ilioven’s colors patrolling the roads.

The patrolling soldiers only nodded at him when they noticed his Adventurer Guild card displayed on his chest.

Flinx appreciated the benefits his Adventurer Guild card provided while traveling.

When the sun began to set, he searched for a suitable place to summon his Galder’s Log Cabin.

He found a nearby grove of trees and decided to spend the night there.

He noticed that the place was already a campsite, so Flinx decided to rough it out for the night and experience camping.

At the very least, he wasn’t worried about suddenly being attacked by monsters since Pip would be watching over him. He also decided to summon a wind elemental that would guard him invisibly.

Once the wind elemental was summoned, Flinx began preparing his camp for the night.

The first thing he needed to do was light the campfire.

He stared at the spot where the campfire was usually made, but he suddenly realized something.

He had no idea what to do next.
