Dungeon Miner Slave

DMS Chapter 169

DMS Chapter 169

Flinx said goodbye to Aman’s family despite their repeated insistence that he should stay for the night since it was already late.

However, it was only around three in the afternoon, and Flinx believed he still had plenty of time to continue his walk before sunset.

The funny thing was that even though Aman had forced his children to stay and say goodbye to Flinx, their minds were already focused on their new toys. The moment Aman allowed them to leave, the children immediately ran off to continue playing, causing Flinx to smile.

Elizabeth simply shook her head at her children’s behavior, but Flinx told her that he understood. He was actually glad that the children were happy again and had forgotten the trauma they had recently experienced.

Aman and Elizabeth continued thanking Flinx until he was already on the road, walking away from their farmhouse.

Flinx continued enjoying his journey. The weather was pleasant, and since it was already afternoon and slowly approaching twilight, the temperature had dropped further, making the walk extremely comfortable.

He loved the fact that his journey had no destination. Having no goal and simply appreciating the beauty of nature made Flinx feel a sense of excitement and peace.

He encountered a few travelers along the road. They were a diverse group. Some were farmers heading to the city to sell their produce, some were adventurers returning from completed missions, and some were nobles who carried themselves arrogantly and treated Flinx as if he were invisible.

Most of the travelers simply nodded at him, and Flinx nodded back. He wasn’t in the mood to socialize yet. He was still enjoying his solitude and the beauty of nature.

When night arrived, Flinx decided not to follow Aman’s advice of approaching a nearby farmhouse or camping on the road and summoning Galder’s Tower as a place to rest.

Instead, he planned to use his Teleport spell to return to his home in Ilioven. It was an experiment to see if he could instantly return to Ilioven whenever he wanted and then return to the exact location where he had stopped his journey.

He found a particularly noticeable tree, memorized its location, and even took pictures of it using his Android Tablet so he wouldn’t forget the place.

After that, he used his Teleport spell and arrived beside the tree between Pondy and the resting area they had prepared in front of the towers.

When Flinx confirmed that he had successfully teleported home, he immediately used Teleport again and returned to the tree he had designated as his travel point.

Standing beside the tree once more, he felt relieved by his success.

He returned to Ilioven and entered the tower. There, he saw Olivia, Ambrose, and Christopher.

Unfortunately, David, Arcios, Keero, and Violet were not present since they had already started living in the mage towers within the mage guild.

“Will you be coming back every night?” Christopher asked while they were eating.

“No. My return tonight was only a test to check whether I could travel home instantly without any issues. Any news?” Flinx asked.

They told him that nothing noteworthy had happened. They admitted that the compound felt a little empty without him and the children.

“That’s only temporary. Soon, my countrymen will return, probably with their families,” Flinx told them.

Even though only a few people had expressed interest in returning to this world, Flinx did not doubt that eventually, all of them would come back.

Their transmigration gift was simply too powerful and beneficial to ignore. Even if returning meant starting over from the beginning, the opportunity was too valuable for those lucky enough to receive it.

In truth, Flinx expected that he would eventually become a ferryman, bringing many people from Earth to this world. There was a high chance that his fellow dungeon miner slaves would ask him to bring their families, relatives, and even friends here.

After dinner, Flinx went to his room to rest.

While lying down, he thought about ways to protect himself when he eventually returned to Earth to bring his friends over.

Because he was still an ordinary Earthling at heart—someone who enjoyed movies, anime, and novels—he had read and watched stories where protagonists who gained special abilities or discovered other worlds were captured by governments and experimented on.

If he were captured and forced to remain on Earth for even an hour, he would lose his transmigration gift and, with it, his ability to travel between worlds.

Flinx did not want something like that to happen.

Even though there was only a small chance that the others would betray him since they had no proof of what had happened to them in the other world, he believed it was better to be cautious.

After a couple of days, Flinx planned to return to Earth and find a different, much more hidden location that he could use as his return point when the others asked him to bring them back.

The park was simply too open and large. There were too many ways it could potentially be used to trap him.

Flinx checked the chat logs from the web-based messenger they all used to communicate, as well as the forums where the dungeon miner slaves shared information.

There was no major news.

The conversations were mostly normal, with people sharing stories about the joyful reunions they had experienced with their families.

For a brief moment, Flinx felt a little envious.

He had no family on Earth that he could return to and meet.

Feeling restless, he decided to design a one-story Galder’s Tower that he could use during his travels. It would contain all the necessities he needed: a bed, a bathroom with a shower, a kitchen, and a small living room.

After completing the interior design, he began designing the exterior.

He chose a simple log cabin appearance.

He wanted his traveling home to be as low-key as possible.

Once he finished designing it, Flinx still felt restless, so he decided to continue his journey.

He left the tower and was glad to find Olivia outside, watching over Pondy.

“Can’t sleep?” Flinx asked.

“No. I just wanted to admire our home for a while. It has truly become beautiful. Pondy looks especially magical at night.”

“I’m leaving to continue my journey. My return will be spontaneous. I might be gone for days or weeks and suddenly appear again.”

“I understand. We already expected something like this, so you don’t need to remind us again.”

After that, Flinx simply walked toward the tree between Pondy and the open-air seating area and teleported to the tree he had designated as his return point.

Flinx knew that the tree was not actually that far from Ilioven. A horse would probably only need a couple of hours to reach it.

When he arrived, Flinx was surprised to see that the surrounding area was still bright.

He realized that the moon was full, illuminating the area enough for him to continue traveling.

So that was what he did.

He continued walking along the road despite the late hour.

He summoned Pip so he would not be alone. Pip flew around the area, scouting the surroundings and ensuring that Flinx remained safe.

While walking, Flinx admired the scenery.

Nature at night was different. It had its own unique beauty, and Flinx appreciated the fact that he was powerful enough to enjoy such a beautiful but dangerous place without fear.

Soon, Pip informed him that a couple of goblins had emerged from the forest.

Flinx asked his familiar to deal with the low-level monsters since he didn’t want to interrupt his peaceful walk.

He did not know how Pip handled the goblins, but he enjoyed the fact that his quiet journey beneath the bright moon continued without disturbance.
