Flinx walked home after he was done delving. He found that he liked strolling home during evenings. The setting sun brought a mild golden glow to the streets of Ilioven that made the city look like a magical city from fairy tales.
The different buildings that could only be found in such a magical world brought home to Flinx the fact that he was in a different world full of magic and endless possibilities. The people’s clothes made him imagine that the city was part of a worldwide Cosplay Convention, which amused him to no end, although the main difference was the grittiness of the armor and clothes of the adventurers that couldn’t be replicated by costumes that were made by cosplayers. It was understandable since the cosplayers created costumes to show off, while people of this world created their clothes to help them defend themselves against their enemies.
The fact that the areas near the dungeon where different guilds established their branches made the areas safe, and where Flinx’s Galder’s Tower was located, made him fall in love with the city bit by bit.
Flinx knew that he was looking at the city wearing rose-tinted glasses. He knew that his experiences were the best because, first, he was rich enough to be able to live near the different guild branches. Second, he had become powerful enough that no one who was aware would want to become his enemy. Everyone knew that making a powerful magic caster who had mysterious means to fight was the worst thing someone could do.
The sun had set when Flinx reached the tower. The first thing he did was renew his Galder’s Tower spell. He was the first one to arrive home. Flinx knew that Olivia and the others were still at the shop. They were still enjoying the novelty of running a profitable business. He just hoped that the four kids didn’t bother Olivia too much. Once Olivia hired a shopkeeper, she would then be able to start educating the children.
Flinx decided to take a shower first, then would wait for the others to arrive home. After showering, he cleaned everything he wore while delving into the dungeon using the Prestidigitation spell, and once he was done, he went downstairs to wait for everyone.
While waiting, Flinx decided to watch an anime. After a while, he heard from Pondy that someone was knocking on the gate. He asked Pondy to open the gates, and soon his guest was just outside the tower’s door. When Flinx opened his door, he was surprised to see that it was Semanor, the diamond rank shield warrior, together with a tall and slim warrior and a lady who was wearing wizard apparel. He remembered Ambrose told him that Semanor planned to visit his tower.
“Semanor, to what do I owe the pleasure?” Flinx asked after inviting everyone inside.
Semanor introduced his companions as Ranul and Elizabeth. Both of the shield warrior’s companions were diamond rank adventurers. Ranul was a warrior, and Elizabeth was a Sorceress.
“I asked Semanor to introduce me to you, and Ranul here just followed along. When I saw one of your earth elementals, I got curious. Your servant also told us your recent feats like conjuring a magic tower in an instant,” Elizabeth said.
Elizabeth proceeded to tell Flinx that magic casters were rare in the kingdom of Ilinestor. Basically, she was there to invite him to join some sort of magic guild.
“I’m honored, Ms. Elizabeth, but as you know, I’m new in this kingdom. I had decided to hold off on joining organizations aside from the Adventurer Guild, at least until I had learned more information about the city.”
Elizabeth told Flinx that she understood. After that, he gave the three diamond rank adventurers a tour of his tower, showing them everything. He also told them about Pondy, which was the designated elemental guardian of the tower. Flinx knew that the three had already seen his water elemental.
After the tour, Flinx served his three guests some of the sandwiches that he had prepared, that was stored in his 4th tab space, and bottles of mineral water that he had bought from his system shopping site. He got a little nervous when he saw Elizabeth and Ranul examining the bottled water’s labels. He hadn’t removed them. He thought that since he would be the only one drinking them, it wouldn’t matter much if the brand labels remained. Thankfully, they didn’t ask him about the labels. It wasn’t a secret that Flinx was a foreigner and a victim of some sort of Teleportation mishap. At least that’s the information he told the people in Beldor Town, who promptly shared that information with the merchants in the caravan that had arrived in town. He didn’t know if that information had already reached Ilioven.
Flinx then remembered that the Adventurer Guild did have some form of information network, and more than likely, Norban, the guild master of the Adventurer Guild in Beldor Town, reported that information.
While he was entertaining the three diamond rank adventurers, Olivia and the others arrived. The barged inside the tower noisily and was taken aback when they saw that Flinx had guests. Olivia then asked her brothers to herd everyone to their rooms, and after the children were gone, Olivia introduced herself as Flinx’s majordomo, which highly amused him.
After that, Semanor said that it was time for them to leave. Without any more delay, the three diamond rank adventurers left.
“Why did they visit you?” Olivia asked Flinx when the three powerful adventurers were gone.
“I don’t know. Elizabeth invited me to some sort of magic guild, but I declined, telling them that I don’t plan to join any organization yet since I’m new in this town. Do you know anything about the magic guild?” Flinx asked, and Olivia shook her head, informing him that common people didn’t know much about the mysterious magic guild.
“Is that the only reason they wanted to meet with you?” Olivia asked, and Flinx just shrugged.
Flinx hadn’t given any impression since he arrived in this city that he was someone suspicious. Maybe they wanted to make sure that he wasn’t a spy. He didn’t know how actual spies work, and he hadn’t seen or heard anything that informed him of any conflict that Ilinestor had with other kingdoms. More than likely, he was just overthinking it. Maybe they just wanted to meet him since he was a powerful magic caster.
When everyone learned that the guest had left, they all rushed downstairs. Everyone had already eaten. They ate in one of the restaurants along the way since it was too late for Christopher to cook. They gathered in the living room to talk. The four kids played by running around all over the tower, and everyone just let them be.
Olivia told Flinx that they had hired a shopkeeper. Olivia would train the shopkeeper the next day, and the day after that would be the time she would start the four kids’ education. She also informed Flinx that the shop had started gathering customers and soon, the store would be well known among rich women through word of mouth. She basically confirmed to him that the shop was a success.
Flinx gave the three new items to Ambrose, telling them of their properties and that he had already paid the guild the tax for the items. He asked Ambrose to sell the items, but the boy wanted to keep the chainmail, so he promised Flinx that he would pay for the items once he was able to delve into dungeons in the future.
Olivia wanted the tiara to be used by her or the shopkeeper since the charm would work well with a salesperson.
