“So can we swim on it?” David asked Flinx.
“Well, you can if you don’t mind knowing that it’s not actually water but a water elemental. It’s also not very big for swimming. since the elemental told me that if you swim on it, it will only be around six feet deep,” Flinx answered.
“It’s still deep enough to be dangerous for the kids,” Olivia said.
“You don’t need to worry about that. The water elemental will make sure that they will all be safe if they swim on it,” Flinx told the kids’ tutor.
Flinx, Olivia, Ambrose, and Christopher were flabbergasted when David suddenly jumped onto the water elemental pond. After a few seconds, Arcios, Keero, and Violet followed suit. The kids jumped fully dressed. Thankfully, even though the night had deepened, it was still very bright outside due to the magic lights on the streets and the lights coming out of the door and windows of the tower. The moon was also full. Still, Flinx was a little exasperated. The temperature was a little low, since it was nighttime.
“Water! Carry me!” David shouted, and everyone, including Flinx, was surprised when David suddenly floated on top of the water and stayed there, as if he were lying on a bed of gelatin.
David started jumping up and down, and due to the texture of the water controlled by the elemental, it looked like the kid was jumping on an extremely soft trampoline. David started shrieking his delight.
“Water! Throw me up!” Arcios shouted, and the water obeyed and threw him upwards.
The water elementals then reached out to catch Arcios while the kid was still in the air. It looked like the pond suddenly spouted a long, liquid arm to catch Arcios gently. The four kids suddenly shouted their request to the water elemental pond, and the elemental obeyed all their wishes.
Flinx had to admit that it really looked fun. He saw Christopher and Ambrose looking at each other, so Flinx wasn’t surprised when Olivia’s two brothers jumped on the pond as well.
Olivia looked with envy at her brothers’ actions, but she was too much of a lady to join the kids in their fun.
The pond started to look small since four children and two teenagers were playing on it, and because of that, none of them could really swim well in the pond due to its size, but the children didn’t care since the water obeyed the commands they shouted. After around 10 minutes, Flinx told everyone to get out of the water since he noticed that they were starting to shiver.
“You can play tomorrow when the sun is out. If you remain on the water, you’ll get a cold!” Flinx scolded the children. All of them did obey Flinx and got out of the water, but they kept on laughing.
“I’ll swim again tomorrow!” David said.
“No, you will not. You still have to go with Olivia since she still needs help in buying all the things the tower needs,” Flinx told David.
David pouted and then started negotiating with Flinx.
“What about after we’re done buying things?”
“Fine, but you can only swim up until five in the afternoon. Later than that, and the temperature will be too low, and you kids could get a cold.”
The kids still cheered since Flinx had permitted them to swim as long as their chores were done.
After that, Flinx asked Olivia and her two brothers to make sure that the kids were all dried, warm, and cozy on their beds.
The next day, when Flinx went to the first floor to eat breakfast with the family, Olivia nervously reported to him that Violet and Keero had caught a cold. David looked guilty, but Flinx just ignored the kid. He was surprised that the kids got sick. They were extremely hardy since they had been living on the streets of Ilioven for a long time, so Flinx didn’t expect any of them to get sick.
Flinx cast the 1st-level spell Healing Elixir until he collected two of them. When Ambrose saw the potions, he shyly asked for one and admitted that he wasn’t feeling good as well, which made Olivia glare at him. Flinx added another Healing Elixir and gave it to Ambrose, who immediately drank the potion. Flinx didn’t know if the elixir would work on colds, so after a few seconds, he asked Ambrose if the potion worked.
“It did! I don’t feel sick anymore,” Ambrose answered, which relieved Flinx.
He wasn’t too worried, though, since if the Healing Elixir didn’t work on colds, he would simply purchase cold medicine from his system shopping site and give it to the kids. Flinx asked Olivia to have the kids drink the Healing Elixirs, so the kids’ tutor immediately went upstairs to have the kids drink the potions. Soon, Olivia returned, followed by Keero and Violet, who looked guilty and couldn’t look at Flinx.
“See! That’s the reason why I’m not going to allow you to swim once it reaches late afternoon,” Flinx told the kids.
“Can we still swim later?” David asked softly.
“No. You all need to be punished. You can only swim once Olivia has purchased all the things she needs to purchase, and that will probably take her two days.”
The four kids started pouting, but still ate their breakfast. When Olivia saw her brothers smiling, she suddenly scolded them.
“You’re also not allowed to swim! You can do so once the kids are allowed to swim.”
Ambrose looked like he would start arguing with his sister, but they noticed Flinx frowning at him, so he stopped and continued eating the breakfast that Christopher prepared.
While they were eating, Olivia told Flinx that since she would be busy completing the shopping mission, she would only make a cursory look for a shop and would only focus on it once she was done with purchasing everything she would need to purchase.
“I can look for the shop!” Christopher offered.
“No. Help your sister complete the shopping task first, then you all can look for a shop,” Flinx told Olivia’s brother.
Flinx wanted Olivia and her brothers to handle the shop by themselves. He would only provide the funds to purchase or rent the shop and the items the shop would sell. Everything else, like decorations, advertisements, and the day-to-day business, would be in Olivia’s hands.
After breakfast, they all left the tower. Flinx saw the four children looking at the water elemental pond longingly. The funny thing was, both Christopher and Ambrose were the same, which reminded him that Olivia’s brothers were still just kids as well. The twins were just sixteen years old.
Olivia and the rest went to the market area, followed by the three stone golems, with one of the golems pulling the cart. Flinx saw that the cart was still damaged, but Olivia should know what to do. Flinx planned to fix it with a spell, but forgot.
Flinx hailed a carriage to go to Mara’s dungeon. He could walk there, but it would take him around 45 minutes to do so, and he didn’t want to do that.
Before he left, he made sure to command the water elemental not to kill anyone. If someone did enter the tower’s premises with the intention of robbing the place, he commanded the water elemental to just capture the would-be thieves and hold them in place beside the pond, using a water arm. The thieves being held in place there for hours shouldn’t harm them, and once the others returned from their shopping, they could call the authorities and have the thieves arrested after Olivia commanded the water elemental to release them.
