Chapter 103: The vow
The grand palace was abuzz with excitement, the air thick with anticipation and joy. It had been a long road to get here, filled with battle, sacrifice, and unrelenting pressure. But today, the kingdom of Eldralore was alive with love. A new Chapter was being written, not with swords and blood, but with joy, promises, and celebration. And the greatest celebration of all was to be Cain and Selene's wedding.
Cain stood in front of the mirror, dressed in a simple yet elegant royal outfit, the deep emerald green fabric contrasting with the gold embroidery along the edges. His dark hair was combed neatly back, a faint smile tugging at his lips as he adjusted his collar.
"I never thought this day would come," he murmured to himself. His life had been full of turmoil, and never once had he imagined that this kind of happiness, this kind of peace, was within his reach. But now, with Selene by his side, everything had changed. He had found someone who saw him for who he truly was, someone who loved him through it all, just as he loved her.
As if on cue, there was a soft knock on the door, and Eren poked his head in. "You're looking sharp, Cain. You sure you're ready for this?"
Cain chuckled, a rare, light-hearted sound that seemed to suit him well. "I think so. Not sure I've ever been more ready for anything in my life."
Eren grinned, stepping inside. "I still can't believe you're actually getting married. I mean, you of all people... who would've thought?"
Cain gave his younger brother a playful glare, but it was softened by a grin. "What's that supposed to mean?"
Eren leaned against the wall, crossing his arms. "Well, let's just say I never imagined you settling down, not after everything. But hey, you've got Selene, and she's been good for you. So, I guess we'll all get used to the idea of you being civilized."
"Civilized?" Cain raised an eyebrow, unable to suppress a laugh. "I'm still the same person I've always been. Don't go getting any ideas, Eren."
Eren shrugged nonchalantly. "Nah, I'm good. Besides, I've got other things to focus on—like making sure Leo doesn't embarrass himself today."
At that, both of them laughed. It wasn't often that they got these quiet moments together, but when they did, it felt like a reminder of how far they had come—how much they had endured, yet how strong they had become.
