Strongest Maid In Another World

"Loraine what the hell!?" Sarah’s exclamation caught Loraine’s ears, the white haired maiden finding her reaction hilarious as she let out a boisterous laugh, leaning back in her chair.

"Relax, what are you going on about? I thought I’d treat us to something a little fancy." Loraine said, a faint smile on her lips as she scratched her chin in a contemplative gesture.

"Though I do wish I could’ve gone in there and cooked all of this myself, but whatever, I guess I deserve some free time as well." Loraine said with a shrug, the delicious aroma of the meals before her making her mouth water.

Crimson Beast Steak, Horned Pork Ribs, Super Cream Pies, a plethora of dishes and treats that Loraine immediately wanted to indulge in, her fingers twitching in anticipation at the sight.

"You really think we’re going to be able to finish all of this?" Sarah asked, a bit nervous as she saw the amount of food on their table. "I really appreciate the sentiment, but....this is a bit too much, even if its all fancy."

Loraine gave it some thought, her little prank on Sarah starting to seem like a bad idea as she took a moment to really look at the amount of food on their table, a bit distraught with herself that she had to go and order that many.

"I suppose you’re right, this might be a bit too much, even for me." She said, sighing as she scratched her head awkwardly. "I don’t suppose we could order take out in this world, though I do wonder if they’ll let me do that if I paid a lil extra."

Loraine muttered the last part to herself, not wanting Sarah to hear about the concept from her past life. Just as Loraine was about to dig into her food and deal with the problem later, a familiar powerful presence hit her spine that made her eyes widen with recognition.

’This aura...I recognize it!’ Loraine thought to herself, turning her head to the site of the restaurant’s entrance as a powerful crimson haired figure made their way inside, the sounds of adventurer’s chatting following closely behind them.

Yura’s footsteps echoed as she made her way inside the restaurant, her imposing figure making her stand out like a flame as every adventurer in the vicinity turned to glance toward her, the room going silent.

"Is that who I think it is?" A whisper caught Yura’s ears, her eyes glancing over at a group of adventurers that were eyeing her with awe.

"She’s Yura from the Royal Capital’s FrostHeart Guild! I heard that she was one promotion away from being recognized as an official S-Rank Adventurer!"

"Wait really!? What is she doing here?"

"I read in the news today that a lot of the guilds in the region are going to tackle a newly formed S-Rank Dungeon in Lazarus, a ton of famous people will be there! Including nobles!"

Loraine heard the chatter around her, a bit surprised that Yura was so well known. She wondered if being an A-Rank adventurer really gave you that much status and popularity, as a lot of these people seem to be her admirers.

’Well whatever, I guess I’ll just have to learn about this kind of stuff later.’ She thought, rising from her chair as she waved her hand in the air, trying to get Yura’s attention.

"Hey Yura! Over here!" Loraine called out, the rest of the adventurers glancing over at her direction as they wondered if the maid was a close friend of hers.

"Mind joining us for dinner?" Loraine asked, gesturing to the generous amount of food on their table.

Yura glanced over at Loraine, a small smile forming on her lips as she walked over to them, abandoning the rest of the adventurers she had come along with as she was a bit surprised that the both of them had ordered that much food.

"Sure, why not! I’m starving!"

She pulled out a chair and sat with them, the delicious smell of the food hitting her nose and making her mouth water, her hands already moving to grab a mouthful of food as she immediately began to eat.

"Wow, she eats like a barbarian...." Sarah commented, watching Yura munching away at the meals before them. "If she keeps up that pace, there won’t be much left for us in the end." She said to Loraine, the white haired maiden only shrugging in response as she let out a small chuckle.

"Well, that solves our food problem, right?" She said, grabbing a fork and knife as she began to cut away at a steak, bringing the piece of food to her mouth as she savored the taste of the dish.

"Mmm~ Oh man, this is good! You might wanna start eating already, Yura’s almost done with her portion and something tells me that she’ll take yours if you’re not gonna touch it." Loraine said, Sarah’s eyes widening in shock as she glanced over at Yura.

Yura blinked at Loraine’s words, a muffled chuckle escaping her lips as she still had her mouth full. She swallowed, huffing as she spoke up. "I mean...if you’re not going to, It would be a waste if the food just sat there, y’know?" Yura said.

"I can eat this by myself, thank you!" Sarah responded defensively.

She steeled her nerves and began to eat as well, trying her best to down the food and savor every last bite, Loraine smiling at the warm atmosphere they had created. She turned to Yura, remembering the question she wanted to ask the crimson haired woman.

"Hey Yura," Loriane started, getting the crimson haired woman’s attention. "Do you think it would be possible for a maid such as myself to become an adventurer?" She asked.

Yura froze in place at Loraine’s question, her mouth open mid-bite as she turned to look at Loraine with the most dumbfounded expression on her face.

"Are you serious?" Yura asked, Loraine not backing down as she gave the woman an affirmative nod.

Sarah blinked at Loraine’s question, turning to face her best friend. "What are you asking? Are you seriously thinking about becoming an adventurer? You’ll get killed! It’s far too dangerous!" Sarah said, worry evident in her tone.

"I know that, but I’m not as weak as I look. You saw what I was capable of when I was facing off against Margret and the other maids," Loraine said.

"Even so, they were just ordinary maids, besides Margret the rest of them were just ordinary people, if you face off against a monster, you’ll get torn apart! You don’t understand how dangerous an adventurer’s life can be!" Sarah said, growing a bit frustrated with Loraine’s antics.

She almost lost her friend at the Young Master’s rage, and now Loraine was going to become an adventurer? She couldn’t let that happen, the reality was far too terrifying to accept, even if Loraine was now an awakened being.

Yura remained silent for a moment, setting her food down as she crossed her arms over her chest, closing her eyes in deep contemplation.

"Well, technically it IS possible," Yura started, "If a Maid can fight a monster, she could perhaps become an adventurer, but the thing is, Maid classes are not designed for combat."

"You can’t learn any offensive skills, at least not for normal maids, you can’t wield weapons or armor, and the only way you could perhaps upgrade your gear is if you had access to powerful accessories like magical rings or enchanted jewelry."

"But those are far too expensive to buy, far too costly to craft, and far too rare to find in Dungeons."

Loriane listened to Yura’s points, taking them into account as she responded with a nod. "I understand your points, but I’m not an ordinary maid." Said Loraine, using [Magical Grasp] to lift up a plate of food in the air, surprising Yura as her eyes widened.

"Even if I can’t wield powerful weapons, I can still wield a certain kind, like knives or cleavers, as my role provides me access to other areas of other classes that normal maids don’t usually have access to, as well as the added benefit of being able to use magic."

She said, lowering the plate of food down as she turned to look at Sarah.

Yura thought about it for a moment.

"I suppose you could use magic, and perhaps you could use some sort of gear to better your chances against facing monsters, but at the same time, it’s far too dangerous." Yura said, her expression turning serious.

"Even F-Rank monsters give adventurers of higher ranks trouble, and the differences in ranking make that gap far more terrifying as most adventurers die without expensive gear and equipment."

"There’s also the fact that you have no coaching or training, so you probably don’t even know how to fight and defend yourself, know what types of monsters you should fight, and which type you should avoid."

Yura sighed, shaking her head. "I admire your enthusiasm, but being an adventurer isn’t the same as it’s portrayed in folk tales, it’s far more terrifying and far more brutal, and you’re just not ready for it yet." Yura said, pressing her hand against Loraine’s shoulder to ground her.

"I think it’s best that you just remain a maid for the time being, okay?"
