Danmachi: The Magic Grandmaster

Chapter 127: Can you be my hero?

There was no need to hide anything, Sion would tell her everything and then gently guide her accordingly.

"Very well, let's begin."

He snapped his fingers and Ais noticed that the surrounding scenery had changed.

"It's about to begin."

As Sion spoke, the dragon appeared.

Ais stared blankly at the dragon, her eyes filled with deep hatred.

Even Sion felt a chill run down his spine looking at that intense gaze.

That hatred even manifested as a unique skill in the future.

Without a doubt, if the dragon hadn't been high in the air, she would have rushed out to attack it.

"This is an illusion, a projection of something that happened in the recent past," Sion said.

"I'm showing you this scene, so observe it carefully."

"I see." Ais nodded then quietly watched the illusion unfold.

It started from the appearance of the dragon, followed by the brutal battle between the two giants on the ground and the densely packed attacks of the adventurers.

The grand scene deeply impacted Ais.

Only after everything was over did Ais finally realize that the monster had been defeated.

Just as she was about to say something, the scene changed once again.

"Dad and Mom!"

Seeing her parents after so long, Ais rushed over but she failed to physically touch them.

...

After some time.

She stared blankly at her parents...

Ais was unable to come back to her senses.

She looked bewildered.

Her enemy was defeated and her parents had returned to the tenkai.

She was left all alone in this unfamiliar world.

So, what was the meaning of her life now?

In the lightnovels, Ais became an adventurer at the age of seven entirely driven by her deep hatred for the dragon.

Now that her lifelong goal of revenge had been shattered from the very beginning, it was completely normal for her to feel lost.

But she was young and given her parents final request, Sion was confident he could make her strong.

"Your parents have entrusted you to my care, they deeply hope you can live a happy life." Sion said.

"I-i.."

Ais stared blankly...

Sion naturally knew that Ais was in a state of deep confusion.

Ais was a bit simple minded, she responded much better to gentle persuasion than brute force and she was quite well behaved in everyday matters.

"I defeated the dragon and prevented it from devouring your parents soul."

"In a certain sense, I'm the benefactor who saved your parents and also the person who helped you take your revenge."

Sion looked calmly at Ais and said.

"So will you join me?"

Ais was stunned, seemingly not expecting Sion to say that.

Since there was nothing else to do, why not make this a new meaning of her life?

Ais thought for a moment, then finally made up her mind and nodded.

"I will join you."

Ais had a beautiful dream, she deeply admired her father as a great hero and her mother as a gentle woman.

She deeply admired heroes.

She once asked her father if he could be her personal hero but he gently refused.

Her father said that he was Aria's hero alone.

In the future, Ais would surely meet her own unique hero.

Sion defeated the dragon and saved her parents.

Wasn't this exactly the kind of hero she had been waiting for?

Perhaps she was still just a kid, saying whatever came to her mind.

She asked. "Can you be my hero?"

"Certainly." Sion gently ruffled her blonde hair and said.

"Isn't the person who saved you already your hero?"

Ais was relieved that he readily agreed to her request.

"By the way, my name is Sion," Sion spoke up.

"I am Ais, Ais Wallenstein." She said quietly.

"Let's get along well in the future, Ais." Sion smiled and said.
