Chapter 126: Ais Wallenstein
Not all adventurers were good people.
It would be foolish to expect high morality from them.
While not everyone in the outside world was evil, the average moral standard of an adventurer was even lower than that of common thugs.
Therefore, strict regulations and restrictions had to be put in place, and only those who passed a formal assessment would be allowed to live in Orario.
While it was impossible to eliminate the oppression caused by adventurers in the outside world, the overall benefits still outweighed the drawbacks.
As for the remaining adventurers who did not pass the review, Sion planned to join forces with the production and commerce familias to open a factory and sell products outside of Orario, ensuring that at least they wouldn't starve.
In the future, Orario would no longer export raw magic stones but would instead export various manufactured products to spread throughout the world.
Some familias such as the Loki and Freya familia couldn't be stopped from continuing their explorations even when the dungeon was highly active.
...
Just like Freya, Sion could see the color of souls and to some extent, he could also see through a person's true character and potential.
Next, Sion needed to prepare for taking over Orario.
There were many things to consider.
There was one more thing to do, he needed to bring Ais Wallenstein back.
There was no rush, still it was best to fulfill a promise as soon as possible.
"Mavis, go there," Sion said in a low voice.
"Understood."
Particles of light appeared before Sion, quickly forming a human silhouette.
The elegant girl bowed while lifting her skirt, then transformed into light and departed once more.
This theoretically achieve a speed equivalent to the speed of light.
Generally, short distance movement was done from a fixed point while long distance movement was based on a mind sensing distance.
Therefore, after sensing the wind's protection, Sion controlled Mavis to move toward the target.
After adjusting the direction and distance several times, she arrived at her destination.
"An abandoned ruin," Sion muttered to himself.
Mavis moved downwards, where she saw a blonde girl sleeping peacefully and was safely enveloped in a barrier.
"Release it." Using Aria's blessing, Sion carefully broke the barrier.
Although the barrier's power had weakened considerably, it could still ensure she remained asleep for a few more years, so it was better to use the key to break the spell.
"Still sleeping?" Picking her up from the bed, Mavis gently pinched Ais's cheek.
As expected, he couldn't feel anything.
Come to think of it, these puppets hadn't been equipped with proper sensory systems yet.
Ais seemed to sense something and she frowned slightly with clear unease.
The ability to put a person into a peaceful slumber for a thousand years indicated that this spell was at most an arcanum level.
"Let's go." Following his muttered command, a protective shield of light enveloped Mavis.
Though carrying another person prevented Mavis from moving in elemental form, this shield of light could isolate external air resistance to the greatest extent, allowing her to move at high speeds.
In less than an hour, Mavis brought Ais back to his home.
"Are you awake?" Mavis placed Ais on the sofa and then Sion asked the question.
Ais didn't open her eyes but her expression changed noticeably.
Discovering that she was being held by a complete stranger and flying through the air, Ais closed her eyes and pretended to be sleeping.
Sion didn't want to talk to Ais through Mavis so seeing her act like this, he pretended not to notice her little act.
"Okay, you can wake up now." He gently tapped her head and said.
"Your parents entrusted you to my care, so you should be familiar with this wind."
Ais slowly opened her eyes, stared blankly at the power, and felt it familiar.
She quickly realized what was happening and asked urgently, "Where is my mom now?"
"They have returned to the tenkai."
Hearing Sion's words, Ais's expression rapidly darkened.
She could never forget the tragic scene of her father and mother being swallowed by the dragon.
Along with her terrible loss, deep anger and hatred filled her young heart.
"Do you not want to know your parent's last words?" Sion interrupted her dark memories.
"I want to know." Ais stared blankly at Sion and after a long while she nodded heavily.
