Chapter 128: Bringing Ais home
"I will."
Ais nodded.
"Just like my father and mother, I will become your strength."
"Then you had better grow up well."
Sion smiled then as if remembering something, asked curiously.
"By the way, isn't Albert's surname Waldstein?"
Waldstein, that was the true surname of Albert.
That was the strongest hero who appeared in the ancient times.
During the battle against the dragon, Albert and Aria were defeated.
But at the same time, the dragon was also severely damaged.
Albert's strength stemmed from his unique contract with a great spirit and the ability to break through his own limits, a blessing from the tenkai in a certain sense.
In addition to the large scale power of the great spirits, Albert commanded power comparable to the strongest heroes of any era, therefore he had at least level 8-9 strength.
Furthermore, ancient heroes excelled at breaking through enemy lines in battle utilizing explosive power far exceeding that of modern adventurers and seemingly also had access to large scale spells.
"Wallenstein sounds unique." Ais answered the question.
"That's what mom used to say..."
Sion: "..."
"I see."
Sion understood.
...
"Where is that lady?"
Ais looked at Mavis and asked, "What is your name?"
"She is Mavis and is a puppet I made."
Sion smiled and said, "She doesn't have any intelligence yet which means that I'm the one manipulating her."
"A puppet?"
Ais stared blankly at Mavis then glanced at Sion and asked, "Is that you, Sion?"
Was that real warmth just coming from a puppet?
"Want to touch her?"
As Sion spoke, he manipulated Mavis to squat on the ground, staring at Ais expressionlessly.
Looking at Mavis's eyes, Ais hesitated for a moment before gently placing her hand on her face.
It had warmth but no breath.
Her natural sensitivity to the wind helped her understand this and it was also her sensitivity to the wind that allowed her to accurately perceive Mavis's nature.
"Like light," Ais could not help but say.
"You guessed correctly."
Sion smiled and said, "Each of my puppets has a corresponding element."
"Mavis Vermillion is the physical embodiment of light."
"Oh.."
"She's like spirits..."
"Nope."
"Because spirits are the true embodiments of nature..."
Sion said, "If one day they can truly gain a life of their own, I will gladly call them spirits."
"A spirit."
Ais looked at Mavis's adorable appearance and nodded in agreement.
Ais could not help but feel a natural affinity for Mavis.
They chatted for several hours, and it would be almost midnight in two more hours.
Ais seemed to trust Sion completely, and she fell asleep peacefully.
"Finally acted like a kid."
Sion sighed softly.
Raising children was a wonderful thing.
The next day, Alfia and the others came out of their rooms.
In fact, Alfia and Meteria had sensed it when Mavis took action the previous night.
The unique aura emanating from Ais was perceived as highly unusual by others.
Ordinary adventurers aside, thanks to Sion's congenital spells and his custom training system, Alfia and Meteria had a strong perception of mind.
"This child?"
Meteria looked at Ais, tilted her head and asked, "Is this the child of you and Mavis?"
"This is the child of Albert and Aria."
Sion rolled his eyes and said, "Even if Mavis were capable of reproducing, I would never lay a hand on her."
It was not worth acting so strange toward his own creation.
Unless a puppet somehow gained a true soul of its own, Sion would never do such a weird thing.
