Danmachi: The Magic Grandmaster

Chapter 101: Her weapon

"May I?!" Tsubaki's spirits lifted, and she looked expectantly at Raiden.

"You may," Raiden nodded slightly and invited. "Come with me."

The two arrived at a scenic spot and sat down on the wooden stumps.

Gazing at the distant lake, a gentle breeze calmed the mind.

"This is great." Looking at the stunning scenery, Tsubaki exclaimed, "It's hard to imagine the dungeon having such a beautiful view."

Raiden remained silent. The peaceful feeling reminded Sion of a few months ago when he sat at his computer desk, controlling his character to farm materials in a game.

"What's wrong?" Raiden turned her head and asked. "Why are you staring at me?"

"Well, I just think your appearance is so outstanding that I was momentarily stunned," Tsubaki exclaimed in admiration.

"If we weren't in the dungeon, I wouldn't be able to sense your true nature. I would've thought you were a goddess."

Mortals could never mistake a deity for a regular person.

This wasn't just because of their flawlessly beautiful appearances but also because the presence they gave off was completely different from people of gekkai.

When Sion first arrived in this world, he could distinguish the differences, let alone the native people of Orario.

Raiden glanced at her and said. "You're more interested in learning about forging than me, aren't you?"

"Hehe." Tsubaki scratched her head, looking a little embarrassed.

"First of all, let me explain that musou isshin is a magic weapon. In your understanding, it's an durandal type magic sword."

Musou isshin was a weapon that completely transcended the existing forging system.

Not only did it have a magic conduction rate of over one hundred percent but it could also generate lightning even when mind was poured into it.

In other words, it could be used as a magic sword that would never shatter.

Coupled with soul matter acting as its basic structure, it was also a blade forged from the heart.

Sion infused his own will and beliefs directly into the blade forming a sword that could cut through anything.

"This is the true pinnacle of human forging."

Listening to Raiden's introduction, Tsubaki exclaimed in amazement.

"As expected, I was right. Even without magic, your lord has reached the highest level of achievement."

Tsubaki had a keen sense for weapons but the foundation of musou isshin was the soul which completely threw off her judgment.

In Sion's view, soul armament was a perfect combination of blacksmithing and mystery.

"This isn't even the highest level. It's just that human forging technology is far too low," Raiden calmly said.

"It turns out that even a master blacksmith is only considered proficient in forging."

"External threats and the rigidity of social structures have resulted in far too few blacksmiths with innovative abilities allowing them to be easily surpassed by a mere mages."

"So that's how you see it," Tsubaki sighed.

"That's true, there are far too few blacksmiths in orario."

"However, I have high hopes for you." Raiden calmly looked at Tsubaki and said, "There are two core conditions to reach the territory of perfection."

"The first is to devote yourself to the craft wholeheartedly, realizing it as the sole meaning of your life."

"The second is the ability to think innovatively and carve out a completely new path forward."

"Your passion and dedication to blacksmithing are genuine and you'll undoubtedly become a leader in the forging industry in future."

Some blacksmiths when they reached their peak, would even infuse their own blood and soul into their swords in order to forge the ultimate masterpiece.

Although Tsubaki wasn't that crazy, she still considered forging to be the most important part of her life.

It was both a hobby and a job.

"I didn't expect you to think of me this way," Tsubaki laughed heartily.

"In that case, I'll work even harder and ascend to the highest peak with your blessing."

"However, before that, I still have some questions. May I ask you?"

Tsubaki looked at Raiden expectantly.

"You may," Raiden nodded slightly.

"I'd like to know, how exactly was that sword drawing maneuver accomplished?"

Tsubaki turned her gaze entirely to Raiden.

Although she thought it was cool, Tsubaki was far more curious about the underlying principles behind Raiden's sword drawing skill.
