Chapter 100 100: Magic Forging
Raiden was just a puppet.
Many of her functions were simulated by magic, combined with Sion manipulating her like a video game character.
Unless he deliberately acted out a specific response, Raiden would never show any emotion.
"You're so strong!"
Tsubaki looked at Raiden's indifferent expression and couldn't help but laugh.
"What is it?" Raiden asked once more.
Without any hesitation, Tsubaki asked with intense fervor, "Um, may I please take a look at your sword?"
Her figure was fully secured with a breast wrap, and covered with a loose outer garment for basic protection.
As a half dwarf born from the mixed blood of humans and dwarves, she had a truly fantastic physique.
Her impressive height and build were envied by many of the shorter dwarves in the city.
She looked a younger than her future self but she had already grown to this impressive size at only sixteen years old.
Her naturally forthright and honest demeanor was quite endearing.
"Give me a reason," Raiden remained unmoved and asked calmly.
"Although I only saw it for a split second, my blacksmith intuition tells me your weapon is formidable," Tsubaki smiled apologetically.
"I'm a member of the Hephaestus familia, and a level two smith. I was irresistibly drawn to your weapon the moment I saw it."
"I see."
Just when she thought there was no hope, the seemingly cold Raiden nodded slightly.
Purple lightning sparked around her body.
Tsubaki widened her eyes in shock.
This time, she clearly saw the patterns on Raiden's chest.
And then a sword hilt slowly emerged from the glow, which she then calmly pulled out.
The motion caused her chest to sway slightly, making her look attractive.
"What in the world is this?! That is so cool!"
Tsubaki trembled with excitement. Her gaze was quickly drawn to the beautiful purple blade.
"This is musou isshin."
The lightning surrounding Raiden slowly faded away, and she handed the blade horizontally over to Tsubaki.
Her body trembled as she slowly took the blade.
She treated it with the utmost care, handling it as if it were a truly priceless treasure.
"Wow, both you and this weapon are truly amazing!"
Tsubaki's hands roamed over the blade like a lovesick maiden.
She excitedly said, "The material of this weapon is strange."
"If this is mithril, the purity is way too high. It is on an entirely different level that surpasses all known blacksmithing skills."
"Its nature is lightning, capable of maximizing the amplification of any lightning element magic."
"Furthermore, the patterns on the blade don't look like they came from folded forging."
"This is incredible!"
Tsubaki made her final judgment, marveling deeply at both the weapon and its mysterious creator.
"Truly perceptive."
Looking at her fanatical appearance, Sion couldn't help but think to himself.
With this kind of devotion and keen intuition for weapons, it is no wonder she will eventually become the strongest blacksmith in Orario.
Tsubaki was currently only level two.
The fact that she would unknowingly reach level five in the future simply through continuous weapon testing was truly astonishing.
Only by mastering a specific skill could one approach the true pinnacle of strength.
Taking blacksmithing as her sole life goal and constantly striving for new breakthroughs, that was exactly who Tsubaki was.
"Was this sword forged by a god?"
Tsubaki reluctantly returned the sword to Raiden and asked her a question with bright eyes.
"No."
Raiden glanced at it.
With a bright spark, the blade transformed into pure lightning and vanished right back into her chest.
This bizarre scene shocked Tsubaki, who wanted to know exactly how such a thing was done.
"This sword was forged by my lord. As expected, there is still plenty of room for improvement in this blade," Raiden said calmly.
"Although it's not quite at the level of an arcanum skill, this sword was forged using magic."
"Magic forging, huh, that sounds interesting," Tsubaki asked with great interest.
"What's the difference between magic forging and regular forging?"
Raiden explained.
"Through smelting with magic, we can achieve materials that are infinitely close to perfect."
"And the actual forging and engraving processes become simple. Because of that, the weapons can be improved at any given time."
"That sounds really convenient," Tsubaki exclaimed.
In a sense, this was no longer standard forging but rather magic refining.
"To be honest, it was rude of me not to ask your name first," Tsubaki suddenly thought of something. She patted her head sheepishly and asked.
"Raiden Shogun," Raiden calmly said. "That is my name."
"I see," Tsubaki nodded. She then smiled and asked.
"Speaking of which, when you mentioned your lord earlier, does that mean you're offering your loyalty to someone?"
"You could say that," Raiden nodded slightly.
There was a region in this world called the far east, where warriors commonly pledged their lifelong loyalty to a sovereign lord.
This concept was easy to understand for a half dwarf whose lineage traced back to those areas.
"I want to meet the blacksmith who forged this weapon," Tsubaki sighed longingly.
"I'm familiar with the core processes and knowledge required for magic forging. If you have any questions, you can just ask me."
