Danmachi: The Magic Grandmaster

Chapter 97: Don't be so shy

This represented the processes of critical thinking and exercise, behaviors that actively altered his physical structure.

Mind originated from the brain.

Through constant learning, relentless training, and precise regulation.

Sion had gradually reached a state of perfection.

By pushing his training to the utmost limit and using his regulation magic to iron out any flaws, Sion had molded himself into a perfect human being.

The exact same logic applied to his physical body.

Through the combined effects of his regulation spell and gravity spell, his physical elements and muscle density were perfected.

He was no weaker than high tier adventurers.

"It's time to figure out a way to break through."

As his physical structure approached perfection, his strength gradually ground to a halt.

This kind of limit was almost impossible to improve naturally.

It was the physical ceiling of a human body.

To continue growing stronger, a person either had to receive the blessing of a great spirit or accept a falna and become an adventurer.

In the current era, spirits were incredibly rare, and their blessings were far inferior to the falna granted by the gods.

A falna could shatter human limits without directly altering the fundamental structure of the human body.

...

Since Sion currently couldn't perform soul materialization on his body, he came up with an alternative method.

It involved finding a way to manually operate on the human body, similar to the concept of unlocking genetic limiters.

He would have to forcibly squeeze out and repeatedly unleash power that far exceeded his physical endurance, before relying on healing spells to repair the severe damage.

This could be achieved by expanding the applications of his regulation spells, forcibly tearing away his physical limiters and repeatedly pushing himself to the brink of collapse.

Unfortunately, Sion's healing spells weren't advanced enough for such process.

Because of that, the safest and most reliable method was to slowly and gradually unlock his physical limiters using his regulation spells.

"I can try to unlock my genetic limiters first."

Sion made his decision.

A falna allowed a person to grow stronger without altering their biological structure, while unlocking the genetic limiters forcibly removed the restrictions of the physical body.

If he could successfully materialize his soul in the future, it would be the equivalent of a complete race evolution.

Soul materialization was essentially a fundamental rewrite of his physical structure, elevating him from a normal carbon based lifeform into a higher dimensional entity.

Once he changed his lifeform, the newly unlocked potential would far exceed the physical limits of any human body.

Because of that, soul materialization remained a critical milestone he had to achieve in the future.

"For now, I will focus on perfecting the puppet."

Sion looked at Raiden standing quietly by his side and murmured to himself.

"The control system is basically perfected. Tomorrow, I'll test her abilities and have her enter the dungeon to absorb magic stones and grow stronger."

By studying his link with Raiden, Sion had developed a unique connection spell that allowed for seamless manipulation even across long distances within the dungeon.

Since Raiden lacked organic human senses, her sensory input was simulated through magic.

Manipulating her from afar was essentially the exact same as controlling a video game character.

Though controlling her required intense multitasking.

He needed to split his attention into at least four separate threads.

He had to pilot Raiden, accompany Meteria through the dungeon, maintain his regulation and sonar detection and work on unlocking his genetic limiters all at once.

"Should I try partitioning my mind?" Sion pondered.

The actual process of partitioning his consciousness wasn't difficult, and it could be developed into a new spell.

...

The soft sound of footsteps brought Sion back from his thoughts and he looked toward the door.

"Sion, help me dry my hair."

Meteria walked over.

She was dressed in light pajamas, and her hair had only been roughly wiped down with a towel.

Because her sleepwear was so light, a generous portion of her chest was left exposed.

"Come sit right here," Sion said.

Almost before Sion even finished speaking, Meteria had happily plopped herself down onto his lap.

Moving with practiced familiarity, Sion gently combed through her wet hair with his fingers.

He held Meteria comfortably in his arms. The soothing warm breeze ruffled her hair and the cozy warmth of his embrace made her happily narrow her eyes.

"You two..."

Alfia cast a sidelong glance at them, a strange look passing through her eyes.

Although she was wearing the exact same style of pajamas as her twin, her appearance was much more reserved.

Her chest was securely covered, and only the smooth skin of her calves was revealed when she walked.

This was a stark contrast to Meteria, whose sleepwear freely exposed her legs all the way up to her thighs.

"Do you want to join us?" Meteria extended her hand with a welcoming smile.

"There is no need, I'll just let it air dry." Alfia hesitated for a brief second before stubbornly shaking her head.

"Don't be so shy." Meteria gave her a smug look.
