Danmachi: The Magic Grandmaster

Chapter 95 95: Experiments

"Perhaps it's because I cannot forge a vessel that perfectly matches the soul," Sion concluded.

The physical body and the soul couldn't align perfectly.

This wasn't just a lack of his own abilities...

Sion was unable to load the complex web of information carried within a living creature's soul.

Whether it came down to his immature spell, the overall quality of his mind or his control, he still had a long way to go.

"Did the experiment fail?" Alfia asked.

"It failed," Sion said nonchalantly. "Failure is normal. I never expected to succeed on my first try. I need to take it slow."

"That is the first time I have ever heard you say something like that." Alfia looked at him thoughtfully.

"Even when you were creating soul spell from scratch, you never said anything about taking your time. It seems this specific magic is incredibly hard."

"It's just a far deeper application of soul magic," Sion chuckled.

"And do you remember the concept of a creator that you brought up before?"

"You're trying to achieve that?!" Alfia asked in pure shock.

"Inanimate objects are no longer a problem for me, Raiden is proof of that achievement." Sion continued.

Alfia had mentioned the concept casually during a random convo.

She hesitated, unsure of what to say next.

Throughout her entire life, she had constantly been the subject of awe and fear.

People always whispered behind her back, asking if she was even human.

They gave her those aliases and questioned why someone like her was even allowed to exist.

With so many heavy expectations surrounding her, Alfia often felt as though she was living the life of a monster.

But standing in front of Sion, she felt like she was nothing special.

She was almost seventeen years old, and in less than ten years of being an adventurer, she was on the verge of reaching level eight.

If it were not for her illness holding her back, reaching level nine wouldn't be an impossible dream.

Her talent went far beyond the concept of being top tier. It was the definition of divine.

However, all of that paled in comparison to Sion.

His talent had allowed him a non falna adventurer to effortlessly block her attacks.

Talent, strength and willpower.. none of these things seemed to matter when facing him.

"This feeling, it's incredibly frustrating yet wonderful." Alfia murmured softly to herself.

She genuinely felt both defeated and relieved by Sion's absurd capabilities.

Frustration was a perfectly normal human emotion, yet she had never experienced it before.

As for the relief, it stemmed from the fact that Sion finally made her feel like a normal person.

Even if it was just a comforting illusion, it proved that she wasn't the sole anomaly in the world.

"It seems sister has changed a lot too." Meteria had been paying close attention to both of their expressions and she naturally noticed Alfia spacing out.

As her twin, Meteria could guess what Alfia was thinking...

Knowing that she could finally live as normal person was the greatest comfort she could ever ask for.

Meteria then turned towards Sion.

He had entered their lives and rewritten the cruel destinies surrounding them.

She truly believed that things would only get better from here on out.

They would all live together forever, just like they were doing right now.

"I'm so tired." Meteria stretched her arms high into the air, perfectly highlighting her curves.

The dungeon had taken a heavy toll on her stamina. They hadn't ventured too deep and decided to stop on the twelfth floor.

...

The middle floor starts from the thirteenth floor.

Countless adventurers had lost their lives because they failed to adapt to the monsters in those floors.

While Meteria technically had enough destructive power to fight on the middle floor.

She was still a long way from being able to maintain the grueling pace of battle down there.

"Once we get back, I'm going to take a nice long bath," Meteria said.

A sudden thought crossed her mind.

She looked back and forth between Sion and Alfia.

Although she was brewing some crazy ideas in her head, the ever vigilant Alfia saw right through her intentions.
