Chapter 93: Let me go
The environment Sion had specially built for Meteria was meant to let her gather excelia without any struggle.
Performing that sword draw for Sion proved just how much her twin cared about him.
She was dedicating almost all of her attention entirely to him.
Setting aside those frustrating thoughts, Meteria's sode no shirayuki could compensate for the flaws in her swordstyle to a certain extent.
If they created a completely new sword style centered around her movements and ice magic, it might suit her perfectly.
While continuing to improve Meteria's combat abilities, they ventured deeper into the dungeon.
The number of adventurers around them slowly lowered and the atmosphere grew insanely oppressive.
Since the Zeus familia and Hera familia hadn't yet been annihilated, their overwhelming presence suffocated any darkness hiding within the city.
Orario was peaceful and safe in this era than it would be in the future.
Because of that, the number of adventurers was much higher. Most of them were just trying to make a living.
With only some at the top.
Rather than risking their lives in a bloody struggle, Sion felt it would be much better to create some new jobs and send them off to work in.
"Let's take a break," Sion said.
...
Two hours quickly went by.
They eventually arrived on the tenth floor, where everything in sight was covered in fog.
Sion raised his hand.
"Raikiri."
The attack wiped out all the monsters within a two hundred meter radius.
"Stone shelter."
Layers of rock rose up from the ground to form a secure stone room. After that, he used soul matter to construct a comfortable sofa right in the center.
He carved hieroglyphs into the stone shelter to lower its presence.
Coupled with the fact that they were in a rather remote area, they basically had no chance of running into other adventurers.
Thanks to his sonar detection, Sion had mapped out the entire layout of this floor.
After confirming there were no issues, Sion picked Meteria up in his arms and sat down on the sofa.
She was incredibly light, making it effortless for him to hold her in his embrace.
"Sion," Meteria called out softly.
She gripped his collar, her face was a blushing mess.
It'd have been fine if they were alone but seeing the complicated expression on Alfia's face made this feel genuinely embarrassing.
"Don't overthink it. Just focus on recovering your mind and stamina. I'll help you with the regulation spell," Sion said with a warm smile.
"Concentrate and take your time learning the process."
Meteria stole a quick glance at Alfia.
Seeing the teasing look in her twin's eyes, she knew Alfia was using her current embarrassment to get even.
Meteria had constantly teased Alfia before and now karma had finally caught up with her.
However, at that very moment, Sion reached out with his other hand and pulled in the spectating Alfia.
Caught completely off guard, Alfia ended up falling right against his shoulder.
Seeing this play out, Meteria laughed at loud.
He intentionally let Meteria see his actions knowing that acting openly was the only way to avoid triggering Alfia's resistance.
Because of her personality, it was impossible for her to cooperate with Sion in doing something sneaky behind Meteria's back.
But making a move right out in the open left her flustered, forcing her into a state where she wouldn't take the initiative but wouldn't fight back either.
"I'm going to recover my mind now," Meteria smiled softly. "If you two want to do something, now is the best time."
After saying that, she closed her eyes.
She trusted Sion and Alfia with all her heart.
Because of that, she could immerse herself in her training even in an environment like the dungeon.
"Meteria!" Alfia gritted her teeth yet she didn't dare to look at Sion.
Sion didn't say a word. Instead, he tightened his arm and pulled Alfia even closer.
He was holding one like a princess in his arms while the other was pressed tightly against his body.
"Let me go!"
Alfia glared at Sion but her eyes lacked their usual intimidating aura.
"I can't do that," Sion chuckled softly.
