Danmachi: The Magic Grandmaster

Chapter 91: Idiot, I'm a mage!

Alfia wasn't trying to show off, her stubborn pride was just getting the better of her.

Even though they were twins suffering from the exact same illness, one was blessed with overwhelming talent while the other had nothing.

This reality left Alfia burdened with heavy guilt toward her twin.

She often mocked herself, believing she had stolen Meteria's talents while they were still in their mother's womb.

However, it all changed after meeting Sion.

Now Meteria had the freedom to make her own choices and the power to carve out her future.

This made Alfia truly happy.

"I wouldn't be too sure about that."

Just as Meteria was about to say something, Sion revealed a meaningful smile.

Hearing his tone, Alfia paused and looked at him in surprise.

It was one thing for Sion himself to bridge the massive gap in talent and strength but enabling someone else to do the exact same was absurd.

Welp, since it was Sion saying it. She didn't doubt his claim.

"Here they come."

Sion sensed the distinct presence of monsters approaching.

They had walked all the way down to the third floor before they encountered their first group of monsters.

The nearby dungeon wall began to crack open, and five goblins armed with weapons immediately charged toward them.

"This is your first battle, so make sure it looks beautiful."

Sion gave Meteria an encouraging look and smiled. "Just like we rehearsed, let's start with the most reliable method."

"I understand."

Meteria nodded slightly, her expression turning completely serious.

Although she was clumsy, she knew well that actual combat required perfect seriousness.

Even though Sion would undoubtedly step in to protect her if anything went wrong, Meteria wanted him to see her at her very best.

"Please watch me closely."

Meteria took a deep breath and took an elegant step forward.

She slowly closed her eyes as a silver halo of light began to shimmer around her.

First the hilt and then the main body of the weapon.

A pristine sword slowly emerged from the center of her chest.

Mist surrounded Meteria's figure as she gripped the hilt and held it high into the air.

Even though she'd given up on the visual performance due to shame. However, she was in front of Alfia and Sion right now.

Because of that, she wanted to show off her best and most visually striking performance.

Alfia was completely stunned.

"Hakuren."

Meteria gently stabbed the tip of her sword into the ground. The ribbon attached to the hilt danced through the air around her.

Even though her voice was soft, her movements showed the aura of an ice princess.

...

An avalanche of frosty air swept across the corridor which rapidly froze the five charging goblins.

Soon, the frozen goblins trapped within shattered.

It was an elegant and flawlessly executed move.

This was the ultimate result of Meteria's hard work over the past few days.

"That certainly exceeded my expectations."

Alfia stared at the glowing Meteria.

While she was genuinely amazed by the display of power, she was also left speechless by her method of drawing swords.

"It's weird."

"How can you call this weird?"

Seeing Alfia's exasperated reaction, Sion nodded in satisfaction. "Don't you think it looks incredibly cool?"

"It's way too dramatic."

Alfia complained, "I can't believe you actually came up with something like that."

This bizarre thing was undoubtedly Sion's idea.

She didn't even need to think to figure out the answer to that mystery.

Even though she was busy complaining, Sion could clearly hear the hidden praise buried within her words.

Perhaps in Alfia's eyes, he was an incredible person capable of bringing impossible miracles to life.

"Putting that skill aside, it can't be used in actual combat."

Alfia rubbed her forehead.

"Yeah, I agree..."

Sion paused midway through his sentence and suddenly smiled. "Speaking of which, do you want me to forge a weapon for you too?"

"A dramatic sword drawing would shock everyone. You'd easily become the most stunning member of the familia."

"Idiot, I'm a mage."

Alfia shook her head and said, "What kind of mage uses sword? Besides, doing something so shameful is entirely beyond me."

"God knows, where that girl found the courage to do something like that."
