Chapter 90: Regret
"Let's go," Sion said after casting a brief glance at Raiden.
He had planned to spend more time training Meteria and perfecting Raiden.
He wanted to send the puppet into the dungeon first to collect magic stones and observe it's behaviors.
However, since Alfia had returned.
He could use this trip to smooth over the awkward tension between the three of them, so delaying the puppet's development wouldn't be a problem.
"I feel like I forgot something," Alfia murmured thoughtfully.
Sion and the twins walked out the door. They immediately drew the attention of the other familia members as they strolled down the street.
"Forgot what?" Sion looked at Alfia in confusion.

On their way to the dungeon entrance, the trio naturally became the center of attention for the surrounding adventurers.
"Right, your gear!" Alfia suddenly exclaimed, finally remembering what she'd forgotten.
Just how many adventurers would willingly enter the dungeon wearing a lolita dress instead of proper armor?
Alfia did exactly that, but no one dared to say a word about it.

Alfia was strong enough to forgo gear but did that mean Meteria could do the same?

"I prepared her gears. You'll see it in a bit," Sion said with a cheerful smile.
"Don't be too surprised."
Meteria was looking forward to seeing Alfia's shocked reaction.
"Whatever." Alfia rubbed her forehead.
These two shared the same the exact same sense of humor and had incredibly high eq.
Most of the time, Alfia was helpless against the couple.
They walked into the dim dungeon. Feeling the environment and the oppressive atmosphere pressing down on them, Meteria couldn't help but sigh.
"It's been so long since I last came to the dungeon. I feel a bit nostalgic."
"You've been to the dungeon before?" Sion asked, looking at Meteria with genuine curiosity.
They didn't know much about each other's pasts so Sion loved hearing Meteria talk about her history.
The reverse was also true. Sion had told her plenty of stories about his world and she always listened with great interest.
"I came here a few dozen times. Sister and I became adventurers at a young age but unfortunately I lacked the talent for it."
Meteria shook her head sadly and said, "Not only did I lack the will to fight but my basic abilities also grew slowly."
"Lady Hera judged that my body would break down before I could even rank up. Because of that, I had no choice but to give up on being an adventurer."
Becoming an adventurer at a young age was quite common in this city.
For example, Ais became an adventurer when she was only eight years old.
The age at which the twins received their falna wasn't much different.
For members of major familias like the Hera familia, most were trained from a young age.
Those who joined halfway through were anomalies.
"Meteria," Alfia fell silent while Sion and Meteria casually brushed off the heavy past.
"Even though I say that, I don't feel any regret over failing to become an adventurer."
Meteria saw right through Alfia's thoughts and smiled brightly.
She didn't hold the slightest bit of dissatisfaction toward her own lack of talent or her cruel destiny.
Even though a tiny hint of regret still lingered, it wasn't something she truly cared about.
"You can't exactly look at it like that," Sion chuckled softly.
"Now that your negative skills are suppressed and your body has recovered its health. As long as you want to, you can become a normal adventurer anytime."
"Even if you do nothing, you still have me."
"Ara ara~ That feels great to hear."
Meteria giggled and continued, "If that's the case, maybe I'll even be able to fight alongside sister one day."
"Hmph, don't get carried away. You could never catch up to me."
Alfia interrupted the dreaming Meteria, causing the twin to smile in response.
