My Overpowered Bunny Girls

Chapter 217: Vol 2 - 6 months Later

The Master Class Tower in the central square hadn’t been the end of their struggles, but it had marked the beginning of a profoundly different era.

For six months following the Shepherd’s defeat, Nathan Cross and his party kept climbing. They cleared that Tower, and they cleared the ones after it. Only now, the frantic, suffocating desperation was completely gone.

The Babel system wasn’t threatening to rip the sky apart anymore; it was just a fixture in a world that was finally allowed to breathe. And for the first time since he had opened his eyes in this strange world, Nathan was allowed to breathe, too. He realized that fact with striking clarity the moment he woke up to the quiet, domestic smell of sizzling bacon and perfectly browned toast drifting down the hallway of his new apartment.

He lay there in bed for a long moment, staring at the ceiling, just breathing it in. He smiled. Lucy had gotten much better at cooking.

He climbed out of bed and padded down the hall to the kitchen. Lucy was standing at the stove with her back to him, flipping eggs with a practiced flick of her wrist. She was taller now—twelve years old, creeping right up on thirteen. Her hair was longer, tied back in a messy, practical ponytail. She moved around the kitchen with total confidence.

"You’re awake," she said, without even turning around. "Sit down. Breakfast is almost ready."

"Yes, ma’am," Nathan said, pulling out a chair.

Lucy laughed. "Don’t call me that. It makes me feel old."

"You’re twelve."

"Almost thirteen. That is basically an adult in most cultures."

Nathan sat at the small kitchen table. Lucy’s little star-shaped nightlight was sitting on the counter, glowing softly in the morning light. Some things didn’t need to change.

Six months had passed since they walked out of the Origin and the Shepherd turned to dust.

The world had finally settled into a quiet, boring new normal. The random Tower Collapses had completely stopped. The corrupted Tower Worlds were actively healing themselves. The Cleansing was just a dark memory now—a nightmare that people only whispered about over drinks, but no longer lived in terror of.

The party had used the time to breathe.

Garrett spent the first two months traveling back to his family in the outer regions. The small farming villages were rebuilding. His sister’s kids had grown, and Red the Mad-Sheep had instantly become their favorite fluffy playmate. When Garrett finally came back to the capital, he looked stronger, rested, and completely at peace.

Dillon had finally reconciled with his parents. It was a rough start—two agonizing dinners filled with forced politeness, clinking silverware, and very stiff conversation—but they eventually found common ground. His dad admitted he was wrong to push his son away. Dillon accepted the apology. Cloudy just crackled happily around his neck the entire time.

Elise had buried herself deep in the TCA’s massive underground archives. She was quickly becoming the country’s top expert on Tower World lore—mapping their history, their hidden connections, and the secrets buried in their ruins. She spent her days reading dusty texts and her evenings sitting with Nathan, excitedly sharing everything she learned.

Smithy had found a real purpose. The TCA officially hired him as a tactical consultant, using his deep, insider knowledge of the Court to hunt down and dismantle their remaining sleeper cells. The TCA suits didn’t fully trust him yet, but they respected his results. He was finally making amends.

And Lucy had grown up. She was officially enrolled in a junior Climber program at the local academy. She trained hard every afternoon, learning the absolute basics of mana control and summoning theory. She wanted to be a real Climber, just like her big brother. Nathan was still figuring out exactly how he felt about that.

While the world rested, Nathan was training in secret.

Deep beneath the guild hall, in a reinforced sub-basement that only he and his summons had access to, he was practicing with the Overlord subclass. The terrifying power the Shepherd had handed him. The ability to steal and wield skills from any class.

He had spent months learning how to copy exactly one skill from each of his summons.

He stood in the center of the dark room, breathing heavily. He raised a hand, and Mirko’s [Impenetrable Fortress] flared to life, casting a jade-green dome over him. He shifted his stance, and Kuro’s [Invisibility] washed over his skin, wiping his body from reality. He stepped forward, dropping the cloak, and threw a heavy punch. Shiro’s [Tyrant Dragon Fist] detonated in the empty air with a deafening crack of golden fire. Finally, he opened his palm, and Ororo’s [Healing Field] bloomed across the concrete, bathing the room in a soothing, warm light.

The skills flowed through his veins, merging perfectly with his natural Archer abilities.

But he kept it completely hidden. Even from Elise. Even from his human teammates.

’You should really tell them,’ Kuro said quietly. She was sitting in the corner shadows, her dark eyes watching him practice.

"Not yet," Nathan said, wiping sweat from his forehead. "It’s too dangerous to talk about."

’The Shepherd is dead, Master.’

"But the Lords aren’t. Babel isn’t." Nathan lowered his hands, letting the magic fade away. "I need to fully understand this power before I put a target on anyone’s back. Then I’ll tell them."

Kuro didn’t argue. She simply nodded and faded back into the dark.

Ororo had evolved.

Three months ago, the tiny white bunny hit Level 10 and broke through to E-Rank. She gained her humanoid form—a tall, incredibly elegant woman with long, silver-white hair and striking pale blue eyes. She unlocked the Arch Mage class. Now, she wielded heavy, wide-area support magic, dedicated completely to healing and protecting the front line.

Nathan walked into the main training yard and watched her practice. She was calm, precise, and completely graceful. She spun her silver staff, and a massive [Healing Field] washed over the battered training dummies, knitting the torn canvas and splintered wood back together in seconds.

"You’ve grown a lot," Nathan called out, leaning against the chain-link fence.

Ororo stopped and gave a polite, shallow bow. "I have learned from the absolute best, Master."

"You mean Mirko?"

"I was referring to you."

Nathan smiled. "Thank you, Ororo."

Kuro had evolved too.

She finally broke through to C-Rank. She unlocked a brand-new class skill: [Shadow Lock]—the ability to use her own shadows as solid physical restraints to pin targets to the floor.

She didn’t talk about her new rank very much. But Nathan definitely noticed the subtle changes in her behavior. She stayed much closer to his side now. She watched the people around him with sharper, more calculating eyes. She had become incredibly protective.

"You know you don’t have to guard me twenty-four seven," Nathan told her one afternoon.

’I know,’ Kuro replied smoothly through the link. ’But I choose to.’

That evening, the entire party gathered in the guild hall.

It was the first time they had all been in the exact same room in months. Garrett, Dillon, Elise, Smithy. Mirko, Kuro, Shiro, and Ororo. They filled the old common room with loud talking, clinking glasses, and heavy laughter.

"Look at you," Dillon said, holding a beer and grinning up at Ororo. "You’re literally taller than me now."

"I am an Arch Mage," Ororo said, her face perfectly calm. "Increased height is a natural consequence of my evolution."

"I’m pretty sure that’s not how magic works," Dillon laughed.

"It is for me."

Garrett let out a booming laugh from the couch. Red bleated happily, chewing on Garrett’s heavy bootlace. Cloudy crackled and buzzed on Dillon’s shoulder. The room felt warm and incredibly alive.

"Man, it’s good to be back," Garrett said, raising his glass.

"It’s really good to have you back," Nathan smiled.

The heavy office door opened, and Valerie walked out, waving them inside.

"I have some news," Valerie said, once they were all crowded around her desk. She tapped a button, pulling up a massive holographic display in the center of the room.

An enormous stadium appeared in the air. It was the grand arena of the capital, completely expanded and renovated. Bright banners representing dozens of different countries flew from the high outer walls. The stands were packed with screaming crowds.

"The Yearly Continental Climber Tournament," Valerie announced. "I know the name is stupid since it’s actually held every three years, but that’s what they call it. Climbers from every major country across continents come here to compete. It is the biggest, most televised event in the entire world."

She looked up from the hologram, a proud smile breaking across her face. "And this year, the TCA has officially invited your party to represent our country."

The party traded shocked glances.

"Us?" Dillon asked, pointing a thumb at his own chest. "We’re just one guild party."

"You are not just one party," Valerie said firmly, leaning on her desk. "You are the party that stopped the Cleansing. You cleared the Tower Worlds. You killed the Shepherd." Her smile grew wider. "You guys are living legends. And the country wants their legends in the arena."

Nathan looked around the crowded office. He looked at Garrett, Dillon, Smithy, and Elise. He looked at his summons standing faithfully by his side. He looked at the bright, open future stretching out in front of them.

"Alright then..." Nathan said. "... We’re in!"
