My Antique Mirror Is A Portal To Another World

Chapter 714: Gui Ying’s Fate

After leaving the back mountain area, Gui Ying went to the main flying mountain.

When he arrived, the disciples noticed him. Clasping their fists, they bowed respectfully and greeted him, "Young Master."

"Mhm." Gui Ying hummed in response and walked straight toward the main hall.

Seeing him approach, the two disciples guarding the entrance clasped their fists and said in unison, "Young Master."

Gui Ying nodded and entered the main hall.

Inside, Gui Fan and the elders were in the middle of a discussion.

Seeing his grandson, Gui Fan, who was sitting on the main seat, asked, "Ying Ying, why are you here? How is Great General Feng’s condition?"

Gui Ying took the other empty main seat beside his paternal grandfather and replied gloomily, "He has woken up."

Hearing this, Gui Fan and the elders let out sighs of relief.

Noticing Gui Ying’s gloomy expression, the First Elder asked, "Young Master, what’s wrong? You don’t look well."

Gui Ying was silent for a moment before saying, "Feng Xiyan learned that Fairy Bai was gone and..."

He didn’t finish his sentence, but everyone present could guess the rest.

Letting out a helpless sigh, the Third Elder said, "All we can do for Great General Feng is nourish his soul and treat his injuries. The rest can only depend on himself."

At the Third Elder’s words, the others sighed again.

After a long moment of silence, Gui Fan said, "We can’t do anything about Great General Feng for now. We have more urgent matters to deal with."

The Fourth Elder nodded in agreement. "The Old Master is right. Now that the Heavenly Dao is gone, the evil energy and resentment from the underworld are beginning to taint this small world. If we don’t act, it will be corrupted in no time."

Sitting beside him, the Second Elder added, "I have already contacted our ancestors in the Celestial Realm, but even they cannot stop this."

Hearing this, Gui Fan looked at them and said, "There was once a similar situation in the past."

Hearing this, the others immediately turned to him, waiting for him to continue.

Seeing his hesitation, Gui Ying’s heart sank. Clenching his hands, he calmly said, "Paternal Grandfather, you know how to fix this."

Gui Fan took a deep breath and nodded gloomily.

Receiving his confirmation, Gui Ying lowered his eyes and muttered, "As expected."

Confused by their exchange, the Fifth Elder anxiously asked, "Old Master, can’t you tell us how to resolve this? This small world really can’t wait any longer."

Gui Fan looked at him and replied heavily, "The only way is by establishing a new Heavenly Dao."

As his words echoed through the silent hall, the elders’ faces turned ashen. In the next moment, they all turned to look at Gui Ying.

Under their worried and sorrowful gazes, Gui Ying calmly poured himself a cup of spiritual tea and took a sip.

After drinking half the cup, he set it down, looked at his paternal grandfather and the elders, and said, "I will take that position."

The moment his words fell, the First Elder stood up and shouted, "No! I disagree!"

Nodding firmly, the Third Elder added, "Young Master, there must be another way without sacrificing yourself."

Gui Ying smiled faintly, shook his head, and replied calmly, "This is the only way."

Looking at the gloomy sky outside, he solemnly added, "... This is my fate and responsibility."

Unable to persuade him, the First Elder turned to Gui Fan and anxiously urged, "Old Master, please stop the Young Master. You can’t let him do this!"

Gui Fan’s palms, hidden beneath his wide sleeves, had already begun to bleed from how tightly he clenched his fists, but he said nothing.

Receiving no response from him, the First Elder could only turn to Gui Ying and plead, "Young Master, please think thrice."

"This is not a joke. If you become the new Heavenly Dao, you will be bound to this small world for eternity. You won’t be able to ascend to the Celestial Realm anymore. Have you forgotten your dream to freely travel around the Six Realms?"

Gui Ying closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and said with quiet determination, "Since I am the one who led to this outcome, then I must take responsibility and fix it."

At his words, the First Elder’s face turned ashen. Losing all his strength, he slumped back into his chair.

The Fourth Elder looked at Gui Ying in silence for a long time before slowly standing up. Clasping his fists, he bowed deeply.

There were no words, but Gui Ying understood everything when he saw the Fourth Elder’s tears fall onto the cold floor.

Sensing the heavy, oppressive atmosphere in the hall, Gui Ying suddenly smiled and said lightly, "Alright, alright. You are all already so old, yet still so talkative."

Flipping his palm, his favorite black-red folding fan appeared. He flicked it open, gently fanning himself as he stood up.

"This young master has made his decision."

Turning to his paternal grandfather, Gui Ying bowed solemnly. "Paternal Grandfather, please forgive this grandson’s selfishness. May we meet again."

After saying that, Gui Ying left the main hall without looking back.

Watching his straight, unwavering back, Gui Fan’s eyes reddened, yet he was powerless to stop Gui Ying.

Stepping out of the main hall, Gui Ying looked up at the gloomy sky as determination flashed in his eyes.

Parting his lips, he murmured softly, "Fairy Bai, Feng Xiyan. You two must not let this young master down. The fate of my entire Gui Clan and this small world is now in your hands."

As his words drifted away on the gentle wind, Gui Ying transformed into a streak of golden light and shot toward the sky.

Standing at the entrance of the main hall, the two disciples watched the disappearing golden light and knelt.

Clasping their fists, they said in unison, "Respectfully sending off the Young Master."

After Gui Ying left the Gui Clan’s secret realm, the eternal golden bell floating above the forbidden territory rang once more.

Dong~! Dong~! Dong~!

Hearing the bell that had not rung since the ancestors ascended to the Celestial Realm, every member of the Gui Clan stopped what they were doing and knelt.

Facing the gloomy sky, they clasped their fists and said in unison, "Respectfully sending off the Young Master."

From that moment on, the golden bell echoed throughout the Gui Clan’s secret realm for seven days.

Each toll transformed into rich spiritual energy, filling the land and blessing those left behind.
