Chapter 713: I’m Sorry...
As Wang Kaiye’s words echoed through the quiet room, Bai Hanyun stared silently at the wooden hairpin, a thin crack running across it.
Just as Wang Kaiye was about to speak again, the door opened, and a group of doctors and nurses walked in.
Seeing that Bai Hanyun was awake, the chief doctor smiled slightly and asked, "Miss Bai, how are you feeling?"
Bai Hanyun looked at the chief doctor and replied in a daze, "Very bad."
The chief doctor looked at Bai Hanyun’s pale complexion as he walked toward the bed. Standing beside it, he accepted the medical report handed over by his assistant. As he read through it, he glanced at Bai Hanyun from time to time.
A few moments later, he handed the report back to his assistant and smiled.
"Miss Bai, the test results are good. You are very lucky to have survived the lightning strike."
Hearing this, Bai Hanyun fell silent for a moment before asking, "Doctor, when can I leave the hospital?"
The chief doctor thought for a few seconds, then replied, "Although the test results are good, we still need to observe you for a few more days. You have just woken up, so it’s better to be cautious."
Knowing he was right, Bai Hanyun nodded. "Alright."
Noticing her weak voice, the chief doctor added, "If you need anything, please call the nurse. I still need to check on other patients. See you tomorrow, Miss Bai."
"Thank you, Doctor." Bai Hanyun replied politely.
After the doctors and nurses left, Bai Hanyun turned to Wang Kaiye and said, "Brother Kaiye, I’m going to try contacting Gui Ying. Please don’t let anyone disturb me."
Nodding at her, Wang Kaiye replied, "Understood."
Putting his book into his Qiankun Pouch, he refilled the glass of water on the bedside table before leaving the room.
Left alone, Bai Hanyun opened the drawer beside the bed. Seeing her spatial ring placed next to her phone, she took it out. After putting on the spatial ring, she checked its contents with her mind.
Looking at the neatly stacked talismans inside, Bai Hanyun took out a communication talisman. Holding it, she took a deep breath to steady herself, then tore it in half.
Rip—!
She stared at the talisman without blinking, waiting for it to turn into dust. But after waiting for a long time, nothing happened.
Looking at the torn talisman in her palm, Bai Hanyun’s expression turned solemn. Clenching it tightly, unease crept into her heart.
’It’s not working... Even the communication talisman isn’t working.’
As the unease grew, Bai Hanyun suddenly thought of something, and her eyes lit up.
’That’s right! The Yang Mirror and I are soul-linked to each other. I should still be able to contact him.’
Clinging to that last bit of hope, she closed her eyes and called out in her mind.
’Yang Mirror.’
She waited for a long time, but received no response. Her fingers tightened as she called once more.
’Yang Mirror, can you hear me?’
Again and again, Bai Hanyun called for the Yang Mirror, but was met with nothing but silence. Realizing she could no longer reach him, a tear slipped from the corner of her eye.
Looking down at the crumpled talisman, Bai Hanyun clenched her jaw, trying to hold back her emotions. But when her tears fell onto the talisman, she finally closed her eyes in despair.
’Feng Xiyan... Will we ever meet again?’
While Bai Hanyun cried silently in the hospital ward, in the Gui Clan’s secret realm, Feng Xiyan’s fingers twitched slightly.
Sitting cross-legged on the arhat bed nearby, Gui Ying sensed the faint fluctuation of spiritual energy in the air. Opening his eyes, he looked toward the spiritual hot spring.
Feng Xiyan slowly opened his eyes and looked at the unfamiliar surroundings. Realizing he was sitting in a hot spring with only his undergarments, he frowned slightly.
"You are finally awake," Gui Ying said, a hint of relief in his calm voice.
Hearing this, Feng Xiyan turned to the side. Seeing Gui Ying looking at him, he asked hoarsely, "Where am I?"
Gui Ying yawned before replying, "You are currently in my Gui Clan’s secret realm. That’s a spiritual hot spring, and this is my flying mountain."
As Gui Ying spoke, Feng Xiyan suddenly recalled the moment before he lost consciousness. In an instant, urgency and fear flashed across his eyes as he looked around.
Not seeing Bai Hanyun, he asked anxiously, "Where is Yun’er? Where is she?!"
Being asked by him, Gui Ying froze for a moment. Then he looked at Feng Xiyan, hesitated for a second, and carefully replied, "She... is gone."
The moment those words fell, Feng Xiyan’s face turned pale.
Shaking his head, he muttered in disbelief, "No... You are lying. Yun’er must still be alive... She must still be alive!"
Seeing his terrified, desperate expression, Gui Ying found himself at a loss for words.
Not receiving an answer from Gui Ying, Feng Xiyan staggered out of the hot spring and walked unsteadily toward him.
Grabbing Gui Ying’s arms, he pleaded, "Gui Ying, tell me you are lying. You are just teasing me... right?"
Gui Ying looked into Feng Xiyan’s reddened eyes, then lowered his gaze. After a brief moment of silence, he finally said, "I didn’t lie. Fairy Bai has left this world. Even I can no longer sense her aura."
With those words, Feng Xiyan’s last hope shattered. He collapsed to the ground, sitting there in a daze.
Gui Ying let out a quiet sigh at this sight and waved his hand. A second later, he disappeared.
As a gentle breeze stirred the curtains, his voice echoed faintly, "I’m sorry..."
Left alone, with the two bronze mirrors submerged in the spiritual hot spring, Feng Xiyan’s tears finally fell.
Clutching his chest, he curled up on the wet ground and cried out in agony.
"Ah!!"
His anguished cry seemed to resonate with the Yin Mirror. Beneath the water, it trembled faintly, emitting a dim glow with each of his cries.
