Chapter 355 181: From Where
The Hydrogen People Cavalry, fresh from pursuing the Alliance Soldiers, leisurely returned on their warhorses. They halted three hundred paces from the Skeleton Undead, facing them from a distance.
The Undead had received Li Ziyu's orders and didn't clash with the Hydrogen People Cavalry. Instead, they tilted their heads, one after another, curiously sizing up the vast, unfamiliar life auras before them. They could tell from these auras that the creatures they faced were not to be provoked.
After the Alliance Army's defeat, Liu Xingxing and Zhang Peng piloted their fortresses to meet up with Li Ziyu. The three fortresses combined once more and advanced slowly. Li Ziyu wanted to meet the commander of the cavalry. 'Who exactly lent me a hand, and why?' he wondered.
The fortress moved to the forefront. A Hydrogen People cavalryman tugged his reins, and his warhorse trotted forward, stopping beneath the Undead Fortress.
He looked up at the Undead Fortress and shouted, "Eddy! Soaring Eagle!"
After shouting this three times, he wheeled his horse around and rejoined the other cavalrymen. Once he had returned, the main cavalry force changed direction. With a thunderous rumble of hooves, their warhorses galloped away into the distance.
Liu Xingxing turned to look at Zhang Peng and Li Ziyu, completely baffled. "What was that supposed to mean?" she asked.
Li Ziyu watched the cavalry force disappear into the distance, just as confused. He hadn't understood the rider's message either.
Zhang Peng, on the other hand, was muttering the cavalryman's words. Suddenly, inspiration struck. He opened his system panel, navigated to "Add Friend," and typed in "Soaring Eagle." As he'd suspected, a user profile popped up.
"Boss, 'Soaring Eagle' is a friend ID. It must be the ID of the person who sent reinforcements," Zhang Peng said to Li Ziyu, turning his head as he sent the friend request.
'Oh, it's an ID.'
It dawned on Li Ziyu. 'That cavalryman's accent was a little heavy. If Zhang Peng hadn't figured it out, I never would have.' He hurriedly opened his own system and sent a friend request to Soaring Eagle.
The request was accepted almost instantly.
[Private Chat]
Soaring Eagle: Hey there.
Don't Want to Get a Driver's License: Thanks for the help. Who are you, if you don't mind my asking?
Soaring Eagle: Are those Undead yours?
Don't Want to Get a Driver's License: Mmm, they're mine.
Soaring Eagle: I mean no harm. I'd like to meet you in person.
At the mention of meeting, Li Ziyu turned to look at Zhang Peng. Zhang Peng had obviously also been in contact with the person, as he looked over at the same moment and gave Li Ziyu a nod.
"What's going on?" Liu Xingxing, who hadn't contacted Soaring Eagle, couldn't help but ask when she saw Li Ziyu and Zhang Peng's expressions.
"The master of the cavalrymen from earlier wants to meet with us," Zhang Peng explained.
"Could it be a trap?" Liu Xingxing said cautiously.
"Now you decide to be cautious? If it was a trap, he wouldn't have rescued us. Wouldn't it have been easier to just let the Alliance Army finish us off? Or what if his cavalry had attacked us directly instead of leaving? Do you think we could have stopped them?" Zhang Peng said irritably, rolling his eyes.
Judging from the cavalry's recent actions, the other party clearly had no ill intent; otherwise, they wouldn't have made contact.
Zhang Peng had thought it through clearly, and Li Ziyu felt the same. By rescuing them and then recalling the cavalry, their benefactor was making a clear statement that they meant no harm—a gesture for their benefit.
Li Ziyu wasn't arrogant enough to think his current forces could hold against that cavalry. 'That's a dedicated cavalry corps,' he thought. 'If they decided to charge my Undead Front Line, I'd have no way to stop them. A few charges through my ranks, and my Undead Corps would be completely torn apart.'
With that in mind, Li Ziyu sent a reply.
Don't Want to Get a Driver's License: Alright, let's meet. Where are you? I can come to you.
Soaring Eagle: Don't trouble yourself. I'll come to you. Just stay put and wait for me.
Don't Want to Get a Driver's License: Okay.
Before long, the ground began to shake. The tremors were powerful; clearly, something massive was on its way. Li Ziyu, Liu Xingxing, and Zhang Peng peered over the fortress battlements toward the horizon. A huge, golden-glowing object was steadily approaching, growing clearer by the second.
Such enormous Stone Horses, and what a massive tent…
Li Ziyu could only marvel.
Twelve Stone Horses, each taller than a multi-story building, pulled a golden tent the size of a small city toward the battlefield. Every footfall sent a tremor through the ground. With all twelve galloping in unison, it was like an earthquake.
As they neared the battlefield, the Stone Horses came to a stop. They didn't charge straight in, as a huge number of Undead stood in their path. If they had, countless Undead would have been trampled—crushed to powder.
Seeing the Stone Horses stop, Li Ziyu drove the Undead Fortress forward.
The other player was clearly much further along than he was. Their golden tent was even larger than his own fortress; it had to be a higher-Level Mobile Fortress.
Li Ziyu received another message.
Soaring Eagle: Have your Undead fall back. We will meet in the middle. Neither of us may bring more than 20 Warriors.
Don't Want to Get a Driver's License: Agreed.
The Undead slowly fell back, carrying corpses with them as they retreated. They left behind a clear, bloodstained patch of empty ground.
"Let's go. Time to meet our savior," Li Ziyu said to Zhang Peng and Liu Xingxing. He led the way downstairs, calling for 5 Tattooed Skeletons, 10 Skeleton Warriors, and 5 Skeleton Longbowmen to act as his honor guard.
