Reincarnated as a Half-God with SSS Abilities

Chapter 185 - 2.65 Sora Vs Pride (1)

They immediately clashed as Sora’s armor and claymore appeared on his body and in his right hand. Pride was now 17 feet tall, still with his humanesque face with demonic white eyes, piercing black pupils, and black hair, but he was significantly more muscular and his shifting metallic skin absorbed Sora’s strikes with ease.

"You’ve gotten stronger." Pride mocked while kicking Sora in the chest. Sora slid back a few feet and grinned.

"Thanks to your dumbass Lord’s idea to power me up through feeding my party fodder."

"Such a lazy god." Pride said while shooting metallic projectiles rapidly at Sora, who ducked and dodge, knocking some away with his sword and others away with earth barriers.

"What do you think I did in Paradise for 8 years, sat on my ass? You are just a dumb prick following orders aren’t you?" Sora shot back.

"Says the god who thinks he can beat me and knows I’d be useful to his party. Too bad you won’t be alive to tell this tale." Pride said while forming black metallic spikes all around Sora, which exploded when they got close to him. He used different forms of water and earth spells to ensure he wasn’t touched.

Sora knew Pride was right and understood he was intelligent and who probably should have led the demons. If he was the one giving orders, Exteria would have been in a lot of trouble much sooner. Now it was just the looming threat of Hades and whatever recruits or creations he had coming.

The landscape was already torn to shreds. Within five minutes, what was once a barren plain was now covered with torn up grass, dirt flying through the sky and raindrops started falling from the clouds. Sora shot several different elemental attacks at his nemesis to no avail, as Pride simply absorbed them like they were nothing.

’Damn. How the hell do you get through that thick skin of his.’ Sora thought, sending his claymore to his void while formulating a Lockheart’s Reign!, quickly using his hands to manipulate the swirling magic orb into a large ball, sending it flying to the cloudy sky. It ruptured and Pride teleported away.

’Shit, that’s new.’ Sora thought, trying to predict where Pride would strike.

The acidic teardrops fell to the ground as harmlessly as the sprinkling rain, evaporating in the ground without injuring Pride, or anything in the area.

Sora turned to his left, roundhouse kicking Pride, who just appeared. Pride blocked the attack using his arms, his black metallic skin shifting like it was alive. He countered with a sweeping leg kick, which Sora jumped over and shot a giant burst of magic into Pride’s chest, causing him to slightly fall back in the muddy terrain. He formed spikes at the bottom of his feet, like cleats and teleported several times, sending large metallic fragments in different shapes at Sora.

’I need to find an opening, there has to be an opening,’ Sora thought, frustrated with himself.

This wasn’t like the fights of old where Pride simply dominated. This was an even battle with both of their souls on the line.

Minutes turned to hours and the fight continued to increase in speed and ferocity with each switching between aggressor and defender. Pride finally landed a clean hit on Sora, who flew backwards and spit blood. While he was flying through the air, he teleported in an obvious pattern, and as Pride went to block, he teleported underground and upper-cutted through the grass. Pride’s metallic skin slid to absorb the blow, but his left thigh cracked, leaving shards of metal scattered across the ground.

Pride wasted no time countering, disappearing and reappearing, pieces of metal flying at Sora from every direction. Some exploded, others cut Sora’s skin. Sora used his hand to heal the cuts while retreating himself, looking for another opening.

’I wish I could portal like Xander.’ Sora thought with a grin. ’What would he do in this fight?’

Sora scanned the mutilated battlefield and started teleporting rapidly, causing Pride to follow each move.

"Stop running." Pride screamed.

Sora didn’t speak, continuing to beam to a new terrain, away from the rain.

’I can’t portal, but I can teleport and he can follow. Let’s see how he does in the heat.’

Sora started disappearing further away and Pride continued to form spikes, pillars and thousands of projectiles flew in Sora’s anticipated direction. Sora knew that if he could reach the far south, it would be the hottest part of the day. He continued to block, absorb and heal the damage Pride dealt and noticed Pride’s formerly cracked skin was fully healed.

’Shit. Didn’t think he could heal now. Oh well, the sun and heat have to be a weakness for someone that big and metallic.’

"Who do you think is winning?" Sasha asked nervously at the wedding reception.

"Neither." Bishop said calmly, stroking his mane.

"It’s been 5 hours... The last of our guests are headed home. Aren’t you ready to get on the boat for our honeymoon Mrs. Steele?" Levi flirted with a large grin.

His sword appeared and started vibrating.

"Well that’s new. She’s never come to me like this..." Levi muttered.

He unsheathed it from its beautiful black leather and began reading the inscription. He shook his head and facepalmed while quickly putting it away. The sword vanished.

"Well, what the hell was that about Levi?" Sasha asked.

"I’ll tell you when we get on the boat. Thank you everyone for such a lovely wedding and reception. I’ve had such a great time!" Levi said while hugging different members of his party.

"Watch after your brother and little sister, Julius." He added while hugging him.

"Ha, yeah. Always will." Julius chuckled.

Sasha stood up and hugged Brie.

"Thank you so much for everything bestie."

"Well, if you wouldn’t have agreed to create our first little adventurer for hire gig, I never would have met Sora, so thank YOU for everything. Have a great time and don’t worry about the fight. Sora won’t lose. He can’t lose because he knows our family needs him." Brie said with a kind smile.

Sasha returned the smile and hugged the rest of the party. Her and Levi finally joined hands and appeared on the boat, where Celeste was waiting.

"Well, the coordinates are set for your location. You two should have a great time so do not worry about the battle!"

"Agreed. I’m guessing you heard my head when I read the sword?" Levi laughed.

"Yup! It’s almost impossible not to hear that loud of a thought."

"What am I missing Levi?" Sasha asked while wrapping her arms around him and gently kissing him. "I love you."

"I love you too. The sword just said to enjoy our honeymoon and not to worry about the ongoing battle."

"That’s it? Really?" Sasha asked, flabbergasted.

"Yup!" Celeste said. "Super vague, so I think both of your best friends will be back together sooner or later! Now off you go!"

Levi picked Sasha up like a princess and they appeared in the captain’s room. He pressed a button while holding her in his arms and the boat started moving.

"Get me out of this dress." Sasha said while kissing his neck.

Levi grinned. "Anything for my wife."
