Chapter 258 - 228: Surrounded by Wolves
Qin Shen scooped her up without hesitation, placed her in the helicopter’s co-pilot seat, and waved to Jiang Linhai and Kilton. "Get on!"
Jiang Linhai and Kilton quickly boarded the helicopter, only to find Jiang Si, her gaze fixed ahead, giving directions to Qin Shen.
Just as they were all feeling confused, they heard Jiang Si suddenly say, "Kilton, I’ve found your sister, but she’s in danger right now. Don’t disturb me."
Kilton’s elation lasted barely two seconds before he heard the news. He immediately clasped his hands together, his eyes fixed on Jiang Si as he prayed nonstop.
More and more wolves appeared before Jiang Si. They didn’t attack, but simply formed a circle around her.
’Jiang Si wasn’t actually sure where this was. She could only judge the location based on the experience from her past life, but she estimated it would take at least two days to fly here from the Holy Mother Base.’
’If only Kilton could teleport... but he couldn’t right now.’
’Jiang Si had to use his sister Nami’s body to hold on until the helicopter arrived.’

She slowly crouched down. The wolves sensed something was wrong and dropped into a pre-attack stalk.
Her palm closed around five or so stones. Jiang Si took aim at a snow wolf’s eye, and a pebble shot out at high speed.
The snow wolf let out a pained AWOO! Jiang Si sent another stone flying, and its other eye was blinded.
A wolf lunged forward to tear at her. Jiang Si, having regained some strength, lashed out with a brutal kick that connected with the wolf’s throat, killing it on the spot.
Seeing one of their own dead and another injured, the pack grew even more ferocious, pouncing forward to tear Jiang Si to shreds.
Jiang Si heaved the dead snow wolf’s body up and threw it, then scattered a handful of stones like a goddess scattering blossoms.
Then she turned and ran for her life.
’So many wolves... fighting them one-on-one is impossible. Not in this lifetime.’
Though she ran as if the wind were at her heels, she still couldn’t outpace the pack. They were about to catch her.
Suddenly, Jiang Si saw a bottomless chasm up ahead.
An idea suddenly struck Jiang Si.
So, she pushed herself to run even harder.
Just as the Wolf King caught up, about to sink its teeth into her backside...
Jiang Si threw a backhand punch, smashing the Wolf King’s snout askew.
She kept running and running, then suddenly leaped recklessly toward the chasm.

The less intelligent wolves couldn’t stop in time. They followed her leap and plunged into the chasm below.
One wolf almost made the jump, falling onto a ledge on the chasm wall.
Jiang Si looked at the snarling wolf trying to climb up and bite her, then glanced around, found a larger rock, and smashed it down on the snow wolf with all her might.
The snow wolf was hit on the head and passed out. The Wolf King snarled, hating Jiang Si with a passion, but there was no way for it to lead the pack across.
Jiang Si let out a long sigh of relief. She was safe, for now.
As she walked further away, the wolf pack headed in the opposite direction to find new prey.
Only then did Jiang Si truly feel her exhaustion. She was starving.
’Kilton’s sister needs food. Where the hell am I going to get food for her out here?’
Suddenly, Jiang Si thought of the wolf that had fallen onto the ledge below.
’If I can get that wolf up here, I’ll have food for several days.’
’But the ledge was several meters down, and there was no way she was going down there. So, she needed some tools.’
’Where am I supposed to find tools in this desolate wilderness?’
Jiang Si’s only option was to see if she could find some vines she could make a rope from.
She walked for a good while. She didn’t find any vines, but she did find a corpse that hadn’t been dead for long.
When Jiang Si saw the clothes the body was wearing, she was suddenly delighted.
Stripping the clothes off the corpse, tearing them into long strips, and then tying them into a rope took Jiang Si a full twenty minutes.
After confirming the rope was barely long enough, Jiang Si began to worry about its weight-bearing capacity.
