Chapter 312: Orcs
After thirty minutes, the two nurses were done. Leon’s mother was now wearing a normal dress instead of a hospital gown. She was seated in a wheelchair.
"Thank you very much," Leon said politely.
The two nurses nodded. "It’s our duty, sir. Take care." With that, the two left the room. Leon also pushed the wheelchair forward, guiding it toward the lift. He reached the rooftop again. Emily and the others were already waiting there. Just as Leon was about to join them, a doctor hurried behind him. "Mr. Bale. Please wait." He quickly rushed forward and stopped before Leon. "Mr. Stanley... He wants to talk to you." He quickly pushed forward a phone.
Leon waited for a second before accepting it and putting it to his ear. "Mr. Stanley," Leon spoke first.
"Leon... Is it true? Are you leaving Delvan?"
"Yes, Mr. Stanley. I believe you have already heard what happened in the cantonment. Getting a license wouldn’t be possible anymore. But I really need to start going into the dungeons fast."
"Leon, can’t you give me some time? I will arrange a license for you soon. My brother is also in the military. Earlier, I was afraid that if I informed him about you, he wouldn’t let you leave the military. But it’s way better than you going to another country."
"Even a single day is a lot for me, Mr. Stanley. I hope you won’t mind. And it’s not for forever either." Leon said calmly. He was going to Daselvia, yes. But he wasn’t going there to be a permanent citizen. He was going there to be a hunter. He had too many things to do. Save Jenny, save Spade. And for that, he had to grow stronger. The faster, the safer. Because he had no idea what situation they were in.
On the other end of the phone, Stanley sighed. "Alright, Leon. Best of luck for whatever you are going there for. You might not need it, but take care."
"Thanks, Mr. Stanley. I will never forget the times you helped me." With that, the call ended. Leon handed back the phone and turned toward Snow and others. He slowly pushed the wheelchair forward and joined them.
"Father, we are ready," Emily said.
Instantly, the same beam of light descended from the jet, still hovering in the air, and swallowed them. The next moment, they were back inside the jet.
"Can we move?" Jason asked.
"Yes, Father," Sol replied.
Everyone settled into their seats. Leon sat beside a window. As Jason started the engine, the jet whistled through the air like a blade.
Leon sat quietly, watching everything blur behind him. Memories flashed in his mind. He had spent his life in this country. Watching his father take his last breath after the accident, his mother becoming comatose, Jenny working hard every day, people mocking him. Then that dream. The dream that changed everything. It had been only over a month. Yet his life had taken a drastic turn.
While Leon was travelling through the air, hundreds of monsters stood before a space rift. Eight of them were orcs. Seven stood at the height of twenty meters. All were exuding an aura that far surpassed a peak Martial King. Even peak Disaster Class hunters would tremble before each one of them. And the orc that stood at the front... It looked less like an orc and more like a mountain. Its muscles were hard like stones. Its aura couldn’t even be felt. It stood at a height of more than one hundred and fifty meters.
Behind these eight orcs were humanoid boars, giant scorpions, alpha jackals, and many other species of monsters.
"So the gate is finally ready." The giant orc spoke. The air trembled due to its voice, as if thunder had just roared.
"Y-yes, Sire." One of the seven orcs replied with a trembling voice.
"But can it withstand all your presence? You are allowed to kill everyone, but the planet must not be destroyed. We can use it to launch our attacks in the future."
"Y-yes, Sire. We won’t dare to destroy it. The ones with lower cultivation will go first. They will set up a barrier so that the planet won’t be destroyed the moment we set foot."
"Good. Very good. Make it first then." The giant orc spoke again.
"Yes, Sire." The orc said and waved his hand.
Among hundreds of monsters, ten stepped forward. Three scorpions, two minotaurs, and five humanoid boars. They all stepped through the space rift, vanishing one after another. As the last monster almost vanished, the orc spoke again. "Make sure to set the barrier faster. You will not have more than twenty-four hours."
The last monster, a minotaur, turned and bowed. "Of course. Rest assured that we will complete it in time, master." After that, the minotaur vanished.
The giant orc clenched its fist. "Damn Heavens. Just wait to be crushed under my feet." With that, the orc turned and left. With each step, the ground shook. Heavy footprints were left behind.
Back at the jet...
It still hadn’t reached its destination. No one was talking. Suddenly, Sol got up from his seat and sat before Leon. "Big bro. Don’t worry. I hope your sister is fine. And your mother will recover soon, too. We have great healers in Daselvia. Each one is better than the last."
"I don’t think healing magic can treat her. She went into a coma due to a great shock. A few of her major nerves were damaged. Healing magic can treat most of the injuries. It can even grow back a limb. But even it has some limitations."
Sol became silent at that. Because he knew that too.
"If only I could get my hands on a thousand-year-old ginseng. Then I could treat her myself."
Sol was shocked. Emily and Snow, too. Because what Leon just said was a bold claim. What even the strongest healers couldn’t treat, Leon could?
Emily was about to speak when a memory flashed before her eyes. In the hidden realm, Leon was trying to feed Noah a pill. The pill worked like a miracle.
’Is he an alchemist, too?’ Meanwhile, Jason wondered inwardly. He, too, had listened to what Leon had said.
