I Can Level Up Infinitely

Chapter 311: Jessica Cooper

Leon and the others left the rooftop and took the lift. Leon tapped the button for the fifth floor. Soon they arrived in front of a room.

"Is my mother-in-law here?" Just as Leon was about to enter the room, Snow spoke. Her words landed like a bomb. Leon snapped toward her. Emily froze, a cold aura emanating from her. Sol looked at his sister warily.

"What nonsense are you spouting?" Leon blurted.

"Don’t you feel ashamed of being so clingy?" Emily also snapped.

Snow shrugged. "Who’s being clingy? And nonsense? Don’t tell me you want to run away from your responsibility." Snow said while pouting.

Leon looked dumbfounded. "Are you for real? What responsibility? You were the one who saw me naked. I didn’t."

"So you want to see me naked before you want to take responsibility? I don’t mind at all." Leon was totally dumbstruck. He opened his mouth but closed it again. He didn’t know what to say, which she wouldn’t twist.

"Shameless. How can you talk so carelessly in front of others?" Emily said in a low voice, which seemed like the calm before a calamity.

Snow shrugged again. "What else can I do? You are not giving us a couple any private time, so we wouldn’t have to talk before others." She said innocently, as if she truly was a victim.

It was Emily’s turn to be at a loss for words.

"Maybe we should focus on aunty now," Sol said, trying to ease the situation. "Big bro, let’s go." Before Leon could say anything, Sol grabbed one of his arms and entered the room.

Inside, Leon’s mother lay in the hospital bed. Her body looked fragile. She looked totally drained of energy. Other than the slow rise and fall of her chest, nothing else moved. Not even her eyelids. At least today her eyes were closed. Last time Leon came with Jenny, they were open.

Leon slowly sat in a chair beside the bed. "Mom. I am here." Leon said in a slow voice. His eyes became a little watery. ’I am almost there, Mom.’ He mused inwardly. ’I am only left with a one thousand year old ginseng to prepare the Elite Ambient Paradox pill. You will recover fully after that.’ Leon picked up her hand, wrapping his fingers around it affectionately before kissing it.

Sol placed a hand on his shoulder. "Don’t worry, big bro. I pray and hope that Aunty will be fine soon."

Leon nodded slowly and thanked him. After sitting beside his mother for a while, Leon stood up. "You guys wait here. I will go and finish the paperwork first."

Just as Leon was about to walk out of the door, Sol leaned beside him and whispered. "Big bro, are you leaving them here together?"

"What else? If I say anything about bringing anyone, it will get more chaotic. I have no patience to tolerate anything like that at the moment."

"Then I am coming with you."

"No, you stay here. Keep an eye on both of them." Saying that, Leon didn’t wait and hurriedly left the room.

Leon took the lift once more and soon reached the reception desk. A young man in his late twenties was in charge.

"Excuse me. I want to take my mother home. She is in room no. 507. Can you please process the paperwork?"

"Sure, sir. Would you like to pay by card or cash?"

Hearing that, Leon felt troubled. ’Ugh, crap. I almost forgot I have no money on me. What should I do now?’

"Your name, sir?"

"Leon Bale." Saying that, Leon fell into deep thought again. ’What should I do? Maybe ask Snow or Emily? No. That will make me look shameless. I should have taken some money for those weapons I forged.’

Just as Leon was busy thinking, the young man at the desk spoke again. "Oh, sorry, sir, I didn’t notice it at first. But all your payment was cleared by Jessica Cooper."

"Jessica Cooper? You mean the president of the Hunter Association?"

The young man checked the monitor again. "Yeah. It seems like her. You must be a high-level hunter from the Association. Sorry I didn’t recognize you."

"It’s totally okay, and I am still not a registered hunter. If all my bills are cleared, can you process the discharge quickly?"

"Sure, sir. Give me two minutes."

The young man began typing on the keyboard. He went through the full file and checked if anything was there to be concerned about. He found none. After that, he printed the documents and handed them to Leon. "Here, sir. Please wait a moment. I’ll send two nurses upstairs to help transfer your mother."

"Thank you very much," Leon said while accepting the papers. He didn’t have to wait long, as two nurses arrived. The young man took one minute to brief them.

After that, Leon went to the fifth floor with the nurses. When he entered the room, he found it was silent. Snow and Emily weren’t talking, both sitting beside his mother on either side.

The nurses started helping Leon’s mother. Except for Leon, everyone else came outside.

Meanwhile at the Hunter Association...

Jessica Cooper was going through some documents at her desk when she suddenly got a call. She pressed the answer button and touched the phone to her ear. "President here." She said, and then started listening. After only a few seconds, her brows knitted together. "He did what?" She abruptly stood up from her chair.

"All right. I am looking into this." Jessica quickly cut the call and then dialed another number. The moment the call connected, she started speaking hurriedly. "Grandpa... It’s bad. Leon killed Major Albert in front of many other officers and soldiers. They have issued a warrant against him."

"What?" From the other side, Stanley’s shout echoed, along with a chair screeching. "Where is Leon now? I will talk to my brother right now."

"I just got word from the hospital. They said Leon is getting his mother discharged."

"Do you have any idea what he’s planning?"

"I think he’s planning to leave Delvan and go to Daselvia."

A heavy silence fell on the other side.
