The Viltrumite Across the Worlds

Chapter 273: Threatening Precht

"A meteor was already ridiculous enough..."

"But punching the meteor apart was even more ridiculous!"

"So says Lucy."

At some point, Lucy had hidden herself inside Horologium. She crouched inside the Celestial Spirit with her hands over her head, relentlessly commenting on everything happening outside.

"Lucy, that's not fair! You hid inside one of your Celestial Spirits all by yourself!"

Happy shouted at Lucy, who was safely sealed inside the clock and completely isolated from the outside world.

"Desperate times call for desperate measures."

"So says Lucy."

Horologium waved his arms and legs as he relayed Lucy's words.

"Jovian actually made it here..."

"It looks like we're going to survive."

Erza looked up at Jovian in the sky and slowly sighed in relief. His arrival had effectively guaranteed Jellal's defeat.

If Jovian could easily defeat Jose Porla, he should have no trouble defeating Jellal.

The battle developed exactly as Erza expected. Jovian relentlessly beat Jellal into the ground until he lay bleeding on the enormous lacrima crystal.

"Hahaha..."

"You're exactly what I expected. You really are a monster."

"Unfortunately for you, you're still going to die here."

"And not just you. Every last one of you is going to die."

"Etherion is about to explode. That power is enough to destroy an entire kingdom, and it will erase all of you without leaving a trace."

Jellal laughed at Jovian.

His aggressive gaze swept across Erza, Natsu, Simon, and the rest of his former companions from the Tower of Heaven before finally settling on Jovian.

"What the hell are you talking about?"

Jovian frowned and walked toward Erza and the others.

"Jump off the island. I'm throwing this thing into the sky."

"You're going to throw the entire island into the sky?"

"Is that even possible?"

Erza was stunned. The idea of launching an island into the heavens sounded completely unbelievable.

"Of course it is."

Jovian nodded.

"Just stop wasting time."

He had merely informed them of what he intended to do. He had never asked for their opinions.

With a casual wave of his hand, Jovian threw everyone on the island into the ocean, including Jellal.

He then lifted the entire island with one hand and hurled it into the sky.

Boom!

A thunderous sonic boom erupted as the island tore through the atmosphere and flew into outer space.

Several minutes later, a brilliant burst of fire exploded high above them.

Terrifying heat and violent winds swept across everyone's faces.

"Ah..."

Jellal, Erza, and everyone else stared at the spectacle with wide eyes, unable to believe what they had witnessed.

"Why?"

"Why didn't you kill me?"

Jellal looked up at Jovian, who hovered in midair with his arms folded across his chest, and shouted furiously.

"Kill you?"

Jovian frowned.

"I think you're misunderstanding something. You turned the Magic Council into a complete disaster and humiliated every councilor in front of the entire continent. If no one takes the blame, the Council's credibility will collapse."

"If the Magic Council collapses, the distinction between Legal Guilds and Dark Guilds will disappear."

"And if that happens, who's going to pay me?"

"What does that mean?"

Erza looked at Jovian in confusion.

"To put it simply, the Magic Council offered me ten million Jewels to capture Jellal."

"They need someone to shoulder the anger of the public and every king on the continent."

Jovian floated above the ocean as he explained.

"Still, I wouldn't mind killing him right now."

"I seem to remember that he hurt you, didn't he?"

"In that case, I'll leave the decision to you."

After thinking for a moment, Jovian raised one hand and deposited Erza and the others safely on the coast.

He then beckoned with his fingers.

The katana wielded by Ikaruga, the professional assassin dressed in a cherry-blossom-pink kimono whose sword could cut through dimensions, tore itself from her grasp and flew into Jovian's hand.

Jovian weighed the katana in his palm before casually tossing it to Erza.

"Whether he lives or dies is up to you."

"My only real issue with him is that there's a bounty on his head, so I can exchange him for money. Your history with him is much more personal."

"I already broke all four of his limbs. Kill him or hand him over to the Magic Council. You people can decide for yourselves."

After saying that, Jovian transformed into a streak of white light and shot into the sky, disappearing from sight.

He had no interest in dealing with the complicated emotional mess between Erza and Jellal.

His job was finished.

Now it was time to find Ultear.

Following the destruction of the Magic Council headquarters, Ultear had prepared to use the chaos as an opportunity to escape.

Before she could get far, a sharp crack split the air and a powerful figure landed directly in front of her.

"You're already back?"

Ultear's eye twitched as she looked at Jovian, who had descended from the sky.

"Where do you think you're going?"

Jovian hovered in front of her.

"Well..."

"Heh..."

Ultear's face went pale, and she gave him an awkward smile.

"Just like we agreed, it's time to visit Fairy Tail's second master."

Jovian smiled at her.

"All right..."

Ultear looked helpless, but she eventually nodded.

The two set off together, heading toward Grimoire Heart.

Meanwhile, Natsu and the others had barely returned to their guild before another incident began.

After Phantom Lord was dissolved, Makarov allowed several of its former members to join Fairy Tail.

In Laxus's eyes, accepting those weaklings was an unforgivable display of weakness that crossed his bottom line.

He was done waiting.

He intended to take the position of guild master for himself.

The Battle of Fairy Tail had begun.

Elsewhere, Jovian and Ultear flew through the sky and entered Grimoire Heart's enormous airship.

"Hey! Ultear, how could you bring an outsider here?"

An irritable blond young man with crimson eyes shouted angrily at her.

"Shut up."

Ultear was the leader of the Seven Kin of Purgatory. Her expression turned cold when she heard one of her subordinates questioning her.

"You..."

"Don't think you can act so arrogantly just because you're a little stronger than me right now!"

"I'll surpass you sooner or later!"

"And you, you're a Fairy Tail mage, aren't you? Die!"

The hotheaded blond noticed the Fairy Tail emblem on Jovian's clothes, and black flames erupted around his body.

Boom!

Before the young man could say anything else, Jovian's palm clamped over his face.

"Ah!"

Jovian applied a little pressure.

Blood sprayed through the air, and the young man collapsed onto the floor, his fate unknown.

"Zancrow was defeated instantly?"

The other members of the Seven Kin of Purgatory felt chills run down their spines.

Zancrow might have been reckless and bad-tempered, but they all acknowledged his strength. If he had belonged to a Legal Guild, his combat power would have placed him close to the level of an S-Class mage.

Yet someone that powerful had been taken down in an instant.

"Idiot."

Ultear sneered at their shocked faces.

Jovian had defeated both Jose Porla and Jellal. Compared to them, Zancrow was nothing.

"Second Master, it seems you still haven't properly trained your subordinates."

After taking down the irritating young man, Jovian looked toward the seated master of Grimoire Heart, whose back was facing him.

"Heh heh heh..."

"I never imagined that brat Makarov would have someone like you working beneath him."

The chair slowly turned as cold laughter echoed through the chamber.

The man wore a long coat, a helmet, and an eyepatch. His clothing made him look like a gunslinger from the Old West or perhaps a notorious pirate.

His white beard and aged face belonged to Precht Gaebolg, Fairy Tail's second guild master and the current master of Grimoire Heart.

"I never imagined the famous second master of Fairy Tail would gather a few worthless nobodies, fly into the sky, and start playing house."

"Is playing pretend really that entertaining?"

"Or have you simply become useless in your old age?"

Jovian swept his gaze across the remaining officers, his eyes filled with contempt.

"Who are you calling worthless?"

The members of the Seven Kin of Purgatory knew Jovian was extremely powerful, but they still could not accept being insulted to their faces.

The man with the pompadour, in particular, had veins bulging across his forehead as he roared furiously at Jovian.

"Calm down. I wasn't singling you out."

"I'm saying that every single person in this room is worthless."

Jovian glanced at him.

"You..."

The man's anger surged, and he prepared to teach Jovian a lesson.

"Wait."

Just as he was about to attack, Precht coldly stopped him.

"Brat, you didn't come all the way here just to provoke me, did you?"

"State your business."

"It's nothing important. I know you're planning to attack Fairy Tail on Tenrou Island."

"I merely came to advise you not to go."

Jovian looked coldly at Precht.

"You expect me to stay away just because you told me to?"

Precht snorted, anger flashing across his face.

"Never mind. I can't be bothered to stop you from throwing your life away."

"But I'm taking this woman with me."

After thinking about it, Jovian decided not to interfere with the second master's suicidal plans.

He pointed at Ultear.

"Starting today, she is no longer a member of Grimoire Heart."

"And I'm taking that girl too."

"Otherwise, Ultear won't be able to leave with peace of mind."

After another moment of thought, Jovian pointed at Meredy, the pink-haired girl among the Seven Kin of Purgatory.

"Who do you think you are?"

"What gives you the right to negotiate with me?"

Precht frowned, and an enormous wave of Magic Power erupted from his body.

"Hmph!"

Jovian snorted.

His boundless telekinetic force instantly swept through the entire airship.

Crackle!

Precht's Magic Power, which had nearly reached the Abyss of Magic, collided violently with Jovian's overwhelming telekinesis.

In the end, Precht was the first to withdraw his power.

"Fine. Take them and leave."

"But do not interfere when I move against Fairy Tail."

"If you do, I promise you'll regret it."

Precht had suffered a minor defeat, but he still refused to yield verbally.

"I don't care."

"I won't participate in this year's S-Class Mage Promotion Trial."

Jovian looked at Precht.

"See that you don't."

Precht turned his back on Jovian and ignored him.

"Let's go."

Having accomplished what he came to do, Jovian looked toward Ultear and Meredy.

"Uh, all right..."

Ultear still looked stunned.

She took Meredy by the hand, and the two of them left Grimoire Heart with Jovian.

"Master, are you really going to let them leave?"

After Jovian and the others departed, Caprico, the mage who resembled a goat, questioned Precht.

"It doesn't matter."

"Nothing they do can prevent the arrival of the Great Magic World."

Precht closed his eyes.

In truth, he was suffering in silence.

Just as he had prepared to attack Jovian, he felt something squeeze the Devil's Heart hidden aboard the airship.

Precht understood that it had been a warning.

If he dared attack, Jovian would crush the artificial heart he had created.

High in the sky, Ultear still looked bewildered even though she had already left Grimoire Heart behind.

She had never imagined that escaping the Dark Guild would be so simple.

"Thank you..."

Ultear quietly expressed her gratitude.

"How much do you know about time magic?"

Jovian ignored her thanks and immediately questioned her.

"The magic I use, Arc of Time, is a form of time magic."

Ultear explained.

"How far have you developed your Magic Origin?"

Jovian continued.

"I've already awakened my Second Origin."

Ultear answered.

"Good. I need you to master your Third Origin within one year."

"After that, I need your help with something."

Jovian nodded after hearing her answer.

He intended to rob Zeref blind while the Black Wizard was away from Alakitasia.

The only reason Jovian had not acted sooner was because he remembered that the Alvarez Empire had a time mage who supposedly possessed a connection to Chronos, the God of Time.

That sounded troublesome.

The time mage herself did not particularly concern him. The real problem was that the original story had revealed very little about Chronos, so Jovian had no idea what kind of entity the God of Time truly was.

That was why he intended to bring Ultear, another practitioner of time magic, along to investigate.

"Understood."

Ultear froze for a moment before nodding.

It had been a very long time since she had devoted herself entirely to training.

Even so, mastering her Third Origin within a single year would be difficult.

She was not sure she could do it.
