Chapter 346: Seven Days

The Woman’s seven-day offer arrived with a clock for each population.

North Pump had eight minutes before Black Grass reached its drinking main.

Hesh Roof had twenty-three minutes before its only stair lost the lower landing.

Kiln Steps had fifty-one minutes before grain stores became unreachable from the occupied terraces.

Her counsel published the full contract through three separate passive channels.

No population could accept for another.

The term began when each local current signer opened a corridor. Every accepted person retained current treatment and could reject a later private address. Rescue receipts survived expiry.

For seven days, each corridor became inheritable emergency property.

Current destinations, route machinery, and unspent reserve could pass to named company successors if a holder died or withdrew. The company could combine reserve across accepted sites during a strike.

On the eighth day, personal destination fields expired unless renewed.

The contract promised prosecution access to a sealed evidence copy after expiry. The copy included company control actions and successor transfers made during the term.

It promised no arrest.

The Woman signed through her private venue. Her counsel placed a current asset bond in public escrow. Prosecutors verified the bond and could not verify where her body would be after seven days.

Each population received a local-language copy and a clean paper version with no active route. Pavi compared them line by line from Cairo.

Hesh Roof’s translation called successor ownership `care after death`. The paper copy called it `transfer of holder rights upon death, incapacity, or release`. Hesh keepers rejected the soft translation. Counsel corrected it on every live copy before review continued.

Kiln Steps found that `seven days` meant seven company clock days. Its local sun count could run eight or six during current route shifts. Counsel accepted a fixed expiry tied to each population’s witnessed opening time.

North Pump asked whether prosecution access included testimony from rescued people. The escrow guaranteed records and allowed no company claim over testimony. It could not guarantee a court would recognize target-field witnesses.

The populations reviewed useful terms after finding real defects. No clean summary replaced the marked contract.

North Pump reviewed first.

Its current count was 494 people. Two wells already carried black blades. The third supplied every household and one field clinic. Local keepers could isolate the wells, but Elara’s support equipment remained forty-six minutes away through target routes.

North Pump had no wall seat.

Its council used five current groups: pump crews, households, clinic, food keepers, and people sleeping between routes. Each selected one speaker and a reachable replacement.

The pump speaker asked whether accepting rescue gave the Woman ownership of the wells.

“Only machinery entering the corridor,” counsel answered. “The wells may remain outside.”

“If we carry the third-pump handle?”

“It becomes corridor equipment for seven days.”

They left the handle.

The clinic asked whether medicine crossed with patients.

“Current treatment supplies may cross under patient request. Unassigned stock joins reserve.”

Clinic workers placed one named bag with each patient and left bulk stock under a local keeper.

North Pump accepted full population rescue with wells, third-pump handle, and bulk medicine excluded.

The first private frame opened in nineteen seconds.

It had thirteen standing marks and a hand rail at child height. The receiving side showed clean water, treatment cots, and seven local exit doors. Each door carried a seven-day private transition mark.

Thirteen people crossed.

All arrived current.

One woman rejected the offered room and stayed in the receiving court. A clinic patient selected treatment before address review. Three children tested a local water tap and complained that it tasted of iron.

Cycle four opened onto a furnished apartment rather than the receiving court. The thirteen selected travelers had requested arrival review before housing. Ten stepped back from the frame. Three had already crossed and found the apartment door locked to a private address check.

North Pump suspended departures.

Counsel identified a receiving clerk who had selected available housing to clear court space. The clerk’s action was permitted under current company procedure and violated the population’s written arrival scope.

The three people inside refused the apartment. Its local holder opened the door after reviewing their receipt, then released the room route. They reached the court with no address accepted.

The company removed the clerk from North Pump control and added twenty-two seconds to the rescue clock. Completed crossings stayed completed.

Cycle four reopened for the ten people who had stepped back. All chose the receiving court after its local holder confirmed the corrected destination.

Cycle nine closed on a fourteenth hand.

A father had tried to enter behind his selected group after his daughter crossed. The frame held thirteen marks. Its edge cut his thumb route from his palm while leaving skin attached.

He pulled free under a local medic. His thumb remained warm and could not bend. The next cycle carried him after his daughter requested his current care and he accepted.

Private treatment preserved the hand and recorded likely permanent movement loss.

The second cycle opened eleven seconds later.

North Pump moved households by current visible group, never by predicted successor. People who could not answer crossed with treatment consent already recorded or stayed under local caregivers.

Two residents refused departure through cycle thirty. One kept the third well’s bulk medicine under local custody. The other wanted to die in the pump room where her wife had died years earlier.

The medicine keeper changed his answer when black blades entered the housing. He sent the stock nowhere, released its clinic route, and crossed with his current body.

The widow kept her refusal until water opened onto the receiving court. She saw that remaining would carry the failed well into people who had left. She chose the final cycle and left her wife’s pump token in local ground.

Her changed answer belonged to the changed physical risk, not the council’s earlier vote.

Black Grass entered the third-pump housing during cycle twenty-nine.

The abandoned handle turned by itself.

Water left the receiving court taps and began running toward the target field.

North Pump’s last local keeper cut the handle from the well. Private corridor workers cut its copied shape from the receiving main. Both water systems kept separate current supplies.

The iron taste disappeared.

Cycle thirty-eight carried the final seven residents and six pump keepers.

The corridor closed after six minutes and fifty-two seconds.

All 494 people reached the receiving court. Nine required treatment for route cuts or well-water burns. No current death or missing person was confirmed.

Black Grass took the third well thirty-four seconds after closure.

Elara’s equipment would have arrived more than thirty-eight minutes later.

The contract saved North Pump under the current clock.

Tera said it on the Cairo channel before any party feed could claim the sentence for her.

“They are alive because the fast door existed. Read what the door owns next.”

Hesh Roof reviewed while the North Pump cycles ran.

Its 904 residents occupied connected roofs above route-eaten lower rooms. The population rejected full relocation by 488 current answers to 301, with 115 unreachable or undecided.

They accepted a narrow scope for 126 children and 27 people dependent on the roof pump clinic.

Parents could accompany children only when the child selected them or current care required it. Household roofs stayed outside the contract.

The corridor accepted the limit.

Kiln Steps rejected every private destination.

Its current assembly included 678 people across six terraces. Grain keepers argued that losing the stores meant hunger within three days. Clay crews argued that shared private reserve could turn all six terraces into collateral for distant Arrays.

The final count was 372 against, 251 accepting, and 55 without current answer.

Kiln Steps began a slower defense.

Workers cut three stair routes apart, moved grain into current household shares, and built hand lines over the first missing landing. Elara sent equipment plans that used local kiln frames. Arrival remained thirty-nine minutes away.

The Woman’s counsel did not call the rejection irrational.

“Capacity remains offered until the stated clock,” she said.

Kiln Steps kept the contract visible and unsigned.

North Pump’s receiving court issued 494 current-person receipts. Each named rescue time, current treatment, chosen or pending address, and seven-day term.

The first thirteen residents signed a joint objection to successor ownership without rejecting their rescue.

The private venue accepted the filing and kept the fields active.

Prosecutors copied every receipt into the evidence escrow. The copy route worked. The Woman’s bond remained reachable.

Pavi checked the first expiry field.

Personal addresses ended on the eighth-day line as promised.

The receiving court did not.

Its foundation now read `SHARED EMERGENCY MACHINERY`.

Seven thin routes extended from it to the contracted Array sites.

North Pump had accepted one corridor for one population.

The successful rescue had made all 494 people collateral behind seven weapons.
